Living in Varsity there are not a lot of options, so Milestones was one of a few. If I am going to go to the Market Mall I will make sure to stop in for a snack or on the weekend the Prime Rib Hash for brunch, its a bit better than the one on Stephen Avenue for the Hash.
I must admit, I was never interested to dine here however, working in the area there aren't many options so we decided to try something new. We came for lunch and surprisingly it was quite busy (probably holiday season plays a part).
We waited for a couple mins and a hostess took us to our table. The waitress was young but very professional. She sold us their special $5 off on a bottle of wine. Excellent wine selection.
First thing I noticed was the prices which seemed more expensive than others. But shortly after i changed my mind as I saw waitresses carrying enormous plates. Immediately the portobello mushroom chicken caught my eye. It came with slices of portobello and 2 decent sized chicken breast. Though it said vermicelli it wasn't. It was a thinner pasta noodle. My date had the spicy Thai Chili and loved it, spicy though she says! We also tried the calamari which was not oily and came with 2 dipping sauces. We had the dessert plate to share which came with 4 different types of dessert. I only enjoyed the cheesecake and ice cream (not much of a dessert person).
Overall the experience was great! Food turned out better than I had expected and portions were big. Staff were polite and friendly. I may just come back!
I wasn't too excited about coming here, but I was blown away! Immediately spotted the butternut squash ravioli on the menu, and was not disappointed. Amazing sauce, goat cheese and flavorful ravioli that melted in my mouth. My companion really enjoyed her burger, and their fries taste great! Good value for taste.
Well you can't really go wrong with any Milestones. They have great bellinis! I really enjoyed their spinach and artichoke dip. It's a great sharing plate.
Although the menu changes often it's easy to find something that'll spark your interest. The 'mayan burger' is one of the best burgers I've had and I definitely recommend this place for a nice cool and relaxed lunch. Service is great, restaurant seems clean and the food is fantastic.
Milestones have changed alot overtime. They always add some new ideas to their menus and i love trying it out.The new menu we tried recently offered some very tasty experience. I ordered ahi tuna tacos with avocado tempura. Perfect amount. I wasn't too full. I really liked the taste of the tacos and accompanied with the avocado. My girlfriend got the seafood salad and that was amazing looking. I tried some of the seafood (the salmon) and it was delicious. We also got a side of fries with truffle dip soooooo amazing.
Cleared my vote from previous like to doesn't like.
Stopped in for lunch while shopping, service at first was super friendly. However it took forever to get our meals; not very many customers seating was empty.
The meals finally came after 30 minutes, part of the meals were Luke warm to cold. I had an extra "ingredient" on my plate, so back it went. By that time we waited so long I wasn't interested in them remaking it.
Instead of trying to make it right the attitude of the server went as cold as our meals.
Needless to say a poor performance on their part, won't be going back to this one ever.
Tasty food and friendly service. Today I recommend the chopped salad which is full of flavour and texture. Our rule of thumb when we travel is to eat at restaurants that are busy. The same applies to Calgary restaurants too. Milestones at Market Mall consistently serves tasty food by friendly staff. Hence every time we eat there we notice the place is filled with happy customers. The characteristic which makes Milestones special is that their management care about what the customers think and make improvements to create the best food experience for their clientele. I wish more Calgary restaurant operators would put such thoughtfulness into running their businesses.
Tried the DIY Peruvian Avis, called buritos ?
Very very salty meat, add salty cheese and I see why the server recommended as side of sour cream. Too salty without the cream, pretty salty anyway
I ordered Harissa Chicken & Chili crusted Tilapia. Both are made best at this location. The downtown and southcentre locations dont make these dishes as good. Here its worth every penny. Great customer service too. Will recommend this location for the above two dishes for sure.
Great service and food!. I have been to this restaurant a few times and have always received great service and food. Went for brunch this past Friday and was pleased once again. I ordered the Eggs Benny and it was delicious! I loved the in-house made salsa, yum!
Our server was great. Quick and friendly. Will be back!
Their food is always good. It's consistent and never have an issue. Service can be hit or miss, like today with waters being forgotten, length of wait. And to top it off, I was a little insulted paying $2.19 for a side of avocado. And by side I mean the equivalent of 1/16 of an avocado. Pretty sure avocados run about $1.00 at the grocery store...just seems steep considering lemons cost the same and I got a plate full of those at no charge.... Whatever.. I'll quit bitching and just bring my own avocado next time ;)
Excellent Service. We had a very pleasant meal that was flavourful and fresh. However, the highlight was the excellent service. My dinning companion remembered having an item that was no longer on the menu. I asked the waitress if it would be possible for the kitchen to make this item. She willingly went to check and confirmed that they could. It was wonderful to see this 'make it happen' attitude. The waitress was also very professional, pleasant and attentive.
Orange Blossom Special
+4.5
Overall Very Impressed. Excellent food, great service, decent prices and a relaxed atmosphere in a trendy-looking spot, Milestone’s at Market Mall was a fantastic choice for lunch!
My parents and I had arrived at Milestone’s Market Mall on a Monday around 1pm and the restaurant was still about ¾ full. We were greeted nicely by a hostess smartly dressed in a sleek black dress, as was our waitress, which gave the overall appearance of professionalism in a stylish way.
We were seated at a booth which was large and roomy. I wish more restaurants had booths like this rather than trying to squish more seating in! After getting comfortable in the booth our waitress appeared ready to take drink orders. She was pleasant but not overly warm but this did change when we had a few jokes with her and her personality came out. She ended up being a lot of fun but still in a polished, professional kind of way. (I was quite pleased to see the service here was quite nice as the Milestone’s downtown is largely hit and miss… mostly miss in the last little while). I ordered a pint of Rickard’s Red for $6.99 which wasn’t a fantastic deal, but was in-line with other establishments. What I did appreciate is that when my beer showed up it was perfectly chilled!
There’s no way you come to Milestone’s and not try the Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($10.99)! Every time I’ve had this it has been spectacular and this time was no different! So good! The red tortilla chips were slightly warmed up as well as the dip itself! Quite rich and creamy with noticeable pieces of artichoke in it, this is a great appetizer to get things going! The spinach & artichoke dip also came with a mild but very fresh salsa on the side and some sour cream too. As per usual, it was finished off in its entirety!
Our meals arrived a nice time later as we were still digesting the spinach dip. My mother had ordered the Grilled Vegetable Wrap (which was $10.99 at the time, but now I see on-line that it’s increased to $11.99). The wrap (a jalapeno and cilantro tortilla) contained a nice mixture of grilled veggies, goat cheese and edamame hummus. It was a delicious meal in that it contained a lot of different and distinct flavours which seemed to complement each other in a mouth-watering way!
My father had the Smoked Turkey Ciabatta Club ($12.99) which contained real turkey, right off the bone, bacon that had been double smoked, avocado salsa, a grainy mustard mayonnaise dressing on a slightly toasted pumpkin seed and cranberry Ciabatta bread. Everything was fresh and had come out quite warm which impressed my father who hates it when meals arrive cold. Again, all of the ingredients were fresh and great quality.
I tried the Spicy Thai Chicken Roll Up ($12.99) which, not to be fooled by the name, was a wrap with shaved chicken, jasmine rice, peanut sauce and toasted sesame cucumber aioli. They were right – it certainly had a spicy kick to it! Quite warming so if “spice” is not your thing, this may not be for you. However, I loved it! Delicious, savoury, intense flavours and the lovely cooling effect of the cucumber made this an adventure for the taste buds!
For 99 cents extra we had all upgraded our fries to yam fries. Hot and slightly crispy they were done very well. My father didn’t like them as much as usual fries, but that’s a preference thing. While most restaurants charge a lot more for yam fries, this is a good deal on a healthier choice.
We left Milestone’s full and very satisfied. For the experience and the quality of food, this was a very good deal and we had been treated rather well, which made this feel like a special occasion. We will definitely be back!
I would recommend this restaurant for those who value their money and who like proper treatment. This is a place to come for a casual lunch or a business meeting. It’s also a great spot for a drink after work with friends or for a special occasion, even a date night. You’ll feel good and won’t be disappointed!
Brunch is good here.... Agree with the other review that brunch/breakfast is underrated here. I really enjoy their Grilled Shrimp California Benedict. 5 out of 7 times it was great...twice, it was just good because the english muffin was a little chewy or over-toasted. The service is good, hostess seating process could be better but not too bad -- always a bit of a wait regardless of whether there is a line-up or not. I really like their Miami Ice drink, quite refreshing. Overall, consistent and good!! Our go-to place on a Saturday or Sunday mid-morning or late afternoon if we still want breakfast but don't want to wait in line at Blue Star, OEB or Dairylane.
Four Cheese Burger- exactly what I wanted!! Mmmmmmmm
Service was the highlight. The food wasn't bad but it didn't blow us away either. Coming from the same folks who bring you such exquisite food options such as Swiss Chalet and Montana's (barf) the food quality was actually quite good. Menu reflected some unique options and wine list was basic but sufficient. We had a few appetizers which were all only ok, an awful caesar salad and a decent steak and chicken main. Overall for a bottle of wine, apps, salad, mains and desert our bill was a little over $100 which is a good value. Our server was actually excellent which would probably be the only thing that made this place stand out from any other typical Moxies/Earls/etc type place.
Good bevies. I had a Raspberry Mojito here a couple years ago and have not been able to find one remotely as delicious since.
Good place for sunday brunch. Underground parking if go early, image if it's -20. Great Sunday brunch!! Average price & good portion of food. Nice decor and new; waitress were friendly; enjoyed atmosphere. Perfect place for Sunday brunch.
Better Than Anticipated.. A - List. Recommended. Yep, it is in Market Mall. Too Bad or Too Awesome, depending on your perspective. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I enjoyed the mushroom soup and portobello mushroom chicken. Both were delicious. The service was well-paced and efficient, more business-like than folksy friendly. The decor is interesting with long sight lines and a very high ceiling. You can sit closer to the bar with the plasma tvs or head for the back of the restaurant which will setup the illusion of being somewhere other than a mall. The food is priced higher than traditional mall restaurants and the quality of the food is reflected in the price. Order an entree and they will happily bring the food on two plates to split, no problem. This wouldn't be my first choice for a special night out but I feel the quality of the food and the decor within a mall warrant a 4 of 5 stars. All mall food should taste this good.
Great Food. Make sure to call ahead and make reservations, as it always seems busy. The four of us enjoyed the mains and desserts we ordered. It was a bit loud between the packed restaurant and the music.
Had visited this place with my wife and daughter. The food at Milestone is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options . Even the server was friendly and polite. Was surprised with the time our order was on the table with starter and main course. The quantity for the price is worth it.I love the service at the place and the chef Lesley is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place
Oh how I’ve missed weekend brunch! Brunch is served until 3:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no better way to start brunch than with a mimosa. I enjoyed the ultimate breakfast sandwich. It’s quite a large sandwich and it is difficult to cut through so make sure you ask for a steak knife. The salmon hash was also quite delicious. Our server was friendly and quickly fixed the errors in our orders. I appreciated that the hosts were able to find a spot for us that has enough room for my grandson’s stroller. Thank you!
The staff was very pleasant, and the food was also very good, with decent size portions. Apparently for the soup they didn't have enough for 2 portions, however to us it was very filling for how much was there.
Food is sooo delicious, we ordered the seafood salad and it was beyond my expectations. The next plate was seafood spegatti and It was good but not like the salad. We get the mushrooms soup too and I like it. What I enjoyed my server Alissa, she is super kind and professional. I had my kiddo with me and she was fantastic with us. They split all the plates as I asked and it was a big help for people who like sharing. Prices varies between plate and the other but, it is on the high side place I would say. Overall, I love d my time and will come back!
I don't typically write reviews but I felt I had to share my experience because they went above and beyond. I placed a large order for a work meeting and when the order arrived part of it was missing. I called and spoke with the manager who told me the chef offered to drive to my office and hand deliver the missing food. He was super kind when he got here and when I opened the bag there was also a piece of cheesecake in there. Definitely unexpected and very appreciated!! Also, the BEST brussels sprouts and cheesecake I have ever tasted.
I had the opportunity to have dinner at the Milestones in Market Mall. I haven’t been there for a bit and I’m glad that I went as the service was really good and the food was quite tasty. When I went to the restaurant it wasn’t that busy so our server was quite attentive.
We had the goat cheese platter and the spinach artichoke dip. Both items came out quickly, and it was quite tasty.
The goat cheese platter was amazing.
