Emmm… was holding high expectations before walk in. But actually is really not that match the price you paid. Mostly the cost goes to watch the chef performance and the atmosphere. Food is only fast food quality but with such a high price tag. We ordered beef and chicken with fried rice. Its okay but not very surprising. If you would like fresh experience you can go but prepare be little disappointed when actually is there. Plus such LONG wait for the table and food delivery

Overall, this restaurant does a great job at providing a fun experience. The decor and ambiance is well done and seems like it would perhaps be similar to ones found in Japan. The food was fresh, but to me, was not worth the money you pay for it. For example, we ordered a California role for $9, and there were probably 8 very small pieces, but for usually double the price elsewhere, you typically get double the portion - makes sense, I guess. The miso soup was just warm and seemed like it was not made from scratch (perhaps a pre-made, prepacked brand). For the grilled food, if you prefer to eat your food all at once, just how I do, you likely will NOT enjoy this type of dinning experience. Each dish is cook one by one while the cook tries his/her best to entertain everyone at the same time. Because of this, by the time the next dish is cooked and added to your plate, the previous dish would have been just warm. If you decide to wait for the cook to finish cooking all of your dishes, you will likely have to wait at least an additional 30 minutes for your full plate. For me, I did not like that especially because I like to eat my entire meal pipping hot and at the same time.
I would still recommend this restaurant for those who would like a fun night out with friends or family. I feel though, that most Asians like myself, would prefer to pay higher prices (as theirs are) for higher qualify and more flavorful Asian dishes. I just couldn't help but think that I, personally, could easily cook food like this at home. Based on my experience, I would probably would only come back if I were invited out to a gathering here by my friend/family.
Oh, and their tip function defaults to 20%, 25%, and 30%, I believe. 30%!! Wow! Yes, I know there is a option for a custom tip, which I did.

AMAZING!
We went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and couldn’t be happier! This is THE experience! We were so lucky to have Kenny as our chef and Melanie as our server and they went ABOVE and BEYOND! honestly the food here is exceptional but i have to say that the customer service was OUTSTANDING! I don’t remember the last time we were treated so well in a restaurant in Calgary!
Keep it up OMO Team, and again special thanks to Kenny and Melanie for making out night so fun!

It was very entertaining. The best way to celebrate a birthday in Calgary. I love the artistry of the chefs and they were engaging. The wagyu and Alberta steak were tender and simply the best. Hey, a simple cake with a birthday song playing plus an ole school printed photo of us made my night! Well done guys.

The food was great and the place is nice a spacious. If you like some entertainment while dining out, this is the place to come. It’s a little pricy but you gotta pay the extra money for the extra entertainment.
The portion size of their sushi is smaller than what I was expecting. The same with the portion size of the tempura, they’re just small!
The service was nice and prompt but maybe a little too prompt as I felt a little rushed. We were all still eating appies and they started our dinner right away. In the middle of eating our dinner they started taking dessert orders (ice cream that comes with the teppanyaki meals) which I found a little aggressive. I get that they’re trying to flip for another table but sheesh give me time to eat.
With those details in mind, I’d still give this place a 4 out of 5 stars.

Enjoyed every bit of my visit to this Japanese restaurant. From the chef's performances to the food. My favourite menu is the Japanese wagyu and Alberta wagyu with special fried rice. The signature sauces were tasty too. The only downside for me is, the air was a little bit too smoky for me.

Upon entry you are greeted by Japanese inspired ambiance and decor, along with the sound of laughter, cheering, and chatter from all the tables. Already, the restaurant’s lively and charismatic atmosphere builds anticipation for an exciting and fun experience. Especially as you watch the chefs put on a show at eat table. This was actually my first time at a Hibachi styled restaurant, so seating at the large shared tables was new to me. It was just myself and a friend for dinner, so I felt like we sort of missed out on a key part of the dining experience — as it’s more tailored for a large group of friends and family to dine together!
We ordered the Wagyu Sampler, Japanese Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, Shrimp Tempora, Wagyu Gyoza, and OMO Fried Rice with Chicken!
Honestly, I would solely recommend this restaurant because they provide you with the opportunity to eat Wagyu! After years of dreaming of this day, my time to try Wagyu had come! And truly, it was delectable! However I will say the chef had not done the best job of cooking the steak rare, as some pieces were cold. This was kind of a bummer for this monumental moment in my food life hahaha.
As for the rest of the food, it was all pretty good, but definitely not out of this world. I did really LOVE their YumYum sauce, which I believe is like a sesame sauce and it is to die for! The Wagyu Gyoza was also super delicious as well.
Oh and just a heads up, if you don’t like leaving a restaurant smelling like food.. OMO is not the place for you because that scent will stick!
Final verdict? Whilst this isn’t the most fine of dining, if you haven’t had a hibachi dining experience, I still totally would recommend you head down to OMO with some friends and family for a fun night out, and to try some Wagyu!

Incredible place. Went here to celebrate a belated mother's Day, as I live abroad and came to visit my mom and wanted to take her somewhere special. Omo delivered a unique, unforgettable experience. The shrimp were absolutely amazing, can't stop thinking about them. Watching the food be cooked in front of you is one thing, but this is a full on show.
