This Nandos won't disappoint. Have had their wraps, sandwiches and chicken meals and they were all oh so good. Chicken is always cooked perfectly and food comes out in a timely matter considering how busy they always are. Staff is friendly and place is very inviting and cozy. Check it out if you've never been.
Nandos is my favourite chicken place in Calgary. They make sure the chicken is perfectly juicy! Make sure you go to this location it's better than the others.
Went on a busy night and decided to grab take out instead. The atmosphere, staff, and service was excellent. For a 30 minute wait to dine in, I waited 15 mins for take out. Ordered a whole chicken with Peri Peri medium sauce, vegetables, and wedges. The chicken was absolutely tasty, very juicy, flavorful, and moist. The vegetables were good, but could have been better if more seasoning was added, and the wedges were great. I recommend this place for the food, atmosphere, and service. Will definitely come back again.

Excellent chicken! Roasted to perfection, finished on the grill and served with your choice of sauce. (I recommend the medium peri peri if you don't mind some heat) They have a good selection of sides and other options to round out your meal. Friendly service, good atmosphere and top notch food. I seriously cannot wait to get back there and try some other things on the menu.
We visited here for the first time after hearing so much about a similar restaurant in Edmonton. Unique atmosphere that compensates for the hustle and bustle and a busy environment. The food was slightly above average but you certainly need to like chicken. Definitely worth a visit.
This is my favourite hang out place on Saturday afternoons. I went with my best friend and her brother. I ordered their mediterranean salad with chicken - hot flavour and regular fries. As usual it was great! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the salad was very refreshing. Service is quick as always.
Love coming here for a delicious and quick lunch. Everything on the menu has been really flavorful and delicious. I love all of the piri piri sauces they have as well. My veggie and vegan pals have also really enjoyed dishes here as well.

We have finally tried Nando’s Chicken, and I cannot believe that it took us this long. What a fun (and delicious) restaurant. Also, very affordable. We got the family pack, which feeds 3-4, with chicken, choice of two sides, and choice of garlic bread or buns
Peri-Peri Everything!! Delicious. Well priced. i would recommend everything on the menu haha. My only issue is with how busy they get. Good thing the one on 17th ave just opened.
Went here for the first time. The place was crowded. Had to wait for sometime. This place is hustling bustling with a lot of people. Need to have patience before you get seated. Nice ambience. We tried the chicken wings it was nice n juicy and the grilled chicken. Serving sizes r large. Loved the sauce with a variety of spice level. It ain't that spicy though. It would be better if the fork n the sauces be at the table instead of going n getting them. A must try place for the chicken lovers.

Today I went to Nando's with the in laws, making up a group of 6. We arrived at approximately 12:30 PM and the place was bustling and hustling with people, but not enough to make us wait an unbearable amount of time. It was about 5 minutes.
We ordered the party pack which feeds 5-6 people, but let me tell you, it could have fed 8. The food came within 20 minutes and the place was extremely busy for lunch, which took me by surprise. The sides we ordered were peri peri fries, peri peri potato wedges, and cooked tossed vegetables. It was very filling. The first thing to come out was the garlic toast, and it was a hefty amount. The drink machine is refillable and contains a surprisingly large selection of choices. The plates came out following one another and again by 20 minutes all our food was at our table.
The chicken was extremely moist and juicy. I would definitely return. The only downfall was that the inside of the chicken wasn't as flavorful and marinated as the top.
The service was good, not too clingy and not too abandoned. The system of order they use is stranger than most places, first you pay when you order then after you eat you can just leave. I would definitely come back here again.
Amazing food and setting. Energized atmosphere. It's pretty crowded every time we go so you will need to be patient. Honestly, you can't go wrong here, but I would recommend getting the party sizes and skip the sandwiches, they're so much better. pair it up with the the garlic peri-peri sauce and you're good to go!

On a recent trip to Calgary, a couple others and I were driving around looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon Nandos! I had had a great experience in Edmonton so we stopped by to satisfy our chicken cravings. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Saturday evening around 9pm when we were seated. The first thing I noted was how dirty the tables and seats were. In fact, when I sat down my feet stepped on some fries on the ground under the table. Ick. After swiping those away and swiping the crumbs off my seat, we ordered the food and had their chicken, garlic bread, mashed potatoes, and fries. The food was fresh, good, and had large portion sizes. Service was really good, by far the best part. We asked for a couple of their sauce packets when we were packing the leftover fries to go and were instead given about double of the amount of sauce packets we were asked for! Fantastic. All in all, I really hope this place becomes cleaner and it was a one-off thing because besides that it's a great place for some chicken. Recommended.
Swiss Chalet for the rest of us. It's fresh, flavorful and relatively cheap. Hits all the scoring points. What's not to like? It doesn't feel like a chain, but it works. Great lunch spot.

Love the chicken wings roulette, and heads up: these aren't little dinky wings, its pretty decent size.
They do have extra sauces, don't be afraid of trying their spiciest, it's not all that spicy.
The chicken here has a ton of flavor, which I fond most restaurants lack, and all so juicy!
Nando's is a popular place for our family. The grilled chicken is fabulous. The serving sizes are very good. The side dishes are excellent as well. Try the macho peas. Take home a bottle of peri peri sauce for your home grill
This used to be one of my favourite restaurants for casual dining. Since the renovations have been finished, I feel the quality of food has changed. Prices are higher and portions are smaller. It is still tasty but I prefer not to go there are often as normally would have. I love the chicken livers so I have to go back for those!
Husband and I went to Nandos for dinner a few nights ago. The food is great. For improvement I suggest that the condiments and forks etc be at the table instead of having to get them. Also they took quite a while to bring the food out
It was alright.. I thought maybe it was going to be a really really great experience but at the end of it I found myself wanting more. For the price you just don't get enough food in my opinion as both of us left hungry after spending more that $40 for our meal for the 2 of us. The food is tasty though, and I really liked the sauces. The setup was pretty cool too, but I just couldn't see myself going there again.
The chicken wings are so goood here!!!! Lots favor and juicy. The price is reasonable here, good for a group of people. Also, I like the sauce they have with different level of spicy. Yummy!!
I've eaten here many times before, but I've never written a review so here it is. Every chicken flavour is bomb (my favourite is lemon herb and medium) and all the sides are bomb (except the mash, but definitely get the spiced rice). The hummus is a little too sour for my taste and the bottomless frozen yogurt is disgusting.
I went here for lunch on a Friday, so please arrive before noon to avoid the rush. This place is known for the chicken and the awesome periperi sauce. We ordered the share platter, a whole chicken with salad, wedge fries and garlic bread.
The chicken was soft and seasoned well due to the marinade process. My only concern is once the chicken is cold, it gets hard, so you gotta eat fast.
The garlic bread is really good, rich, soft, but a the garlic taste is a bit mild to me. The salad was also dressed well, crunchy lettuce, and the sweet yummy grape tomatoes.
My main concern is the speed of service for ordering other menu items like chicken liver, or sandwiches. It took way too long. But other than that, I would go back again for more of the spicy periperi sauce.
I love Nando's! Though its always busy, my friends and I always get a table after waiting for 5-10 mins. Food is great! The place itself isn't too clean, the sauce counter is usually quite messy but again that's probably cos this place is always busy! Go for the food and you won't regret.

Delicious Chicken Every Time!. I absolutely LOVE Nando's. I have been to this location numerous times and have never been disappointed: the flame grilled chicken is always delicious and cooked to perfection. Being a fan of spicy food, the chicken with extra hot peri-peri sauce always does the trick! The sides are always good too- my favourites are the peri-peri potato wedges and the grilled corn (they have it during the summer months). My only disappointment was the change in decor that happened recently- I really liked the old set up and this new way just seems very unorganized. Other than that I have never had bad service here and the food is always just delicious!
Great place to eat!. Nando's has the best chicken. No one has a flavour like theirs. Chicken was moist and tender and had just the right amount spice. The sides like the mashed potatoes were also very tasty. For the price you pay for a dish, the food is top notch. A must eat.
If you love chicken....... First and foremost being a newly renovated space helps the over all experience you will have when eating here. The feel is urban sheek. Natural woods and more of a very casual dinning experience.
Something different is once you are seated with your menu, you have to line up to place your order from 1 of 3 cashiers.
Once you have placed your order and pay then you can move to the fountain pop area (I was a little disappointed at there drink selection) and get your drink and cutlery, napkins, extra sauces etc. and make your way back to your table to wait for your food.
Once you food is cooked someone will bring it to you.
I got the 1/4 chicken (breast and wing) and I got it in a lemon and herb seasoning and I did find it very nicely seasoned and cooked.
Overall I would say if you are wanting to try a great piece of chicken in a very casual environment then this is your place. I would definitely make another trip back.

Renos - Good, Food - Fresh and Great!. I didn't have a chance to visit Nando's before the renovations, but the result of the renos is something pretty cool.
I'm not a huge fan of the 'pick a table, order at the front' style of service, but the food did come quickly, and was quite good.
I opted for the Peri-Peri chicken sandwich with one side (coleslaw). You pick a sauce (mild to hot, couple of different sauces as well) and your side, and whether or not you want your sandwich as a wrap or on a Portuguese bun. The bun was really fresh and tasty, and the coleslaw had my grandmother wanting more. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the additional sauce bottles they have on the condiments counter provided a nice way to customize your meal.
The roasted chicken quarters, halves and full sizes looked very good too, and my uncle devoured his, so it must have been good.
Five of us ate a full meal (with soft drinks/tea) for just over $55, which for the quality I found to be very reasonable.
Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back, but go early on weekends - it fills up quite quickly.

They have some decent side dishes to have with it also.
The service can be pretty slow at the order taking area, they could use some more speed there or some more desks. But the wait is worth it.
Chicken is so good. One thing that HAS to change is the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They're always dirty!!! Also, don't like the new sit down first then go back up to order, seems pointless.
Whats with the sit down but order up front?. Love the chicken but crazy service. You line up order your food, then come and sit down and they bring it to you. If you need anything else like more food they take the order at the table but the first order has to be at the counter.

I've been to Nandos several times and have given it a thumbs up, but never provided a review till now. I just went today and thought I'd type some comments in, and also highlight some changes.
1. It's all about the chicken. And if you don't get hot or extra hot, you're fired.
2. If you enjoy spicy items, try getting the chicken liver (off menu), but it must be ordered extra hot. Have it with their bread, Indian style if you like, and you don't be disappointed.
Nature of the restaurant and general observations:
1. You order at pay at the counter. No biggie I suppose, but I always find it odd when the credit card machine asks how much tip you want to add in, when they've actually not done anything for you to that point. I always say zero, and then tip after.
2. They've actually reduced their table servicing from earlier on. Now you don't get condiments or cuttlery at the table, and need to get it from the from, McDonald's Style. I find this odd, as the prices are restaurant prices, not Burger King.
3. While it is Portugese style chicken, this place survives on the South Asian folks, especially the South Asians who have come to Canada via East Africa. Grill / BBQ and flaming hot is how they like it ;)
All in all, the chicken is awesome, and it keeps me going back. Nandos has a niche that is not well served elsewhere in Calgary. Wish there was another of these, perhaps in the NW near Foothills Hospital or somethin'.

Nandos is making money hand over fist. Please, can you repair or replace the ripped bench cushions? They've been like that for two years, and it is starting to get me sad :(
We order here all the time, always for take out and it's ALWAYS amazing! I find its a little more mild than they display, but super tasty!

Yumm. All that I can say is fast, efficient and the best Chicken I have had this end of the NE. I have worked in the NE for a long time and all the restaurants up here have lost their luster. Be sure to try. I ate the peri peri wrap with chicken cheese and medium peri sauce, the flavor that is in the sauce and chicken is FANTASTIC.

Tasty moist and spicy chicken in a casual setting. I enjoyed my lunch a lot. The only other Nando's that I have been to was in Kampala and this was just as good and definitely cleaner:-)
Good chicken, but quite expensive overall. Owner does not even Honor the standard SPC discount that all other Nando's Franchises offer.
Chicken and Hot Sauce. This place is really all about chicken and hot sauce. The spicy, healthier version of KFC.
This place was enjoyable, even if just for the hot chicken. The pita was my choice and that was the highlight of my meal. The fries (piri piri) are essentially fries with seasoning salt on them. Disappointing when I realized they weren't special. The salad is also very plain, so I'd go with something different next time.
The hot sauces are vinegar based and do pack a bit of punch. All in all it was a good meal and I would revisit the establishment.

An interesting visit. My wife and I have been eating Nando's for years. We are rarely disappointed. Tonight prompted me to write a review as it was an interesting visit and I thought it would be worth sharing the experience.
Went in to pick up an order and as I got out of my car, another driver, a rather large woman parked smack dab in the middle of a handicap spot and a regular spot (no sticker), and sauntered into the restaurant ahead of me. She approached the counter and began asking questions about what type of food is served. She insisted on asking random questions rather than just looking at the menu. After a few minutes of questions that become progressively more pointless, she totally ignored the recommendations of the counter attendant and insisted on ordering a meal for two despite starting off the whole encounter insisting she just wanted food for one. I feel for people who work in customer service and have to deal with the stupid of our society.
The counter attendant did a fantastic job handling the difficult customer and was patient and professional the entire time. Once another attendant saw what was happening she opened another cash register and was friendly and efficient.
The food was fantastic (as usual). The chicken was tender and delicious and our favourite sides are Caesar salad, peri fries, and peri vegetables.
If you are considering applying for a counter attendant job it is highly unlikely you will be hired unless you are young, thin, and attractive.
Something different. Nando's provided my wife and I with an experience different from what we are used to. Choose your flavor and receive a delicious, roasted chicken and tasty side dishes. The tables include 6 different unique sauces to add some punch to your meal. Don't go in expecting anything estetically pleasing, the food is the draw.
I love Nandos...hit and miss is always there. Staff is friendly as I am mostly there....every other lunch break...yes sometimes good can be dry and gross ..and sometimes finger licking good...no matter whereI go I love nandos ..England...Africa...U.S..Middle East or Asia..Its sooo good..I was so mad when Frangos copied Nando's menu yet they are not even half as good..cheaters!!!
Well done. Ordered the peri-plate. Gives an excellent variety of boneless and boned. Had medium flavoring giving just enough zing to it. Although there is a poor choice for on tap beer, the bottled import isn't too shabby and the menu may seem small but if you want chicken and good grilled chicken then go here. It'll fulfill your hunger for it, thus a good satisfied feeling. Overall service was a tad short and impersonal, but it's a place that tries to combo fast food with sit in restaurant.
LOVE. Nando's hails from South Africa and we have a branch in almost every suburb in Johannesburg. I ate Nando's at least twice a week when I lived there. I tried out the Nando's in Soho, London and was disappointed. It was therefore with mild wariness that I approached the Calgary restaurant. I was not disappointed at all! The chicken was tender, the fries deliciously coated in peri shake, the perinaise dip creamy and perfect...all just like back home. I've since become a vegetarian but will still return to Nanado's for the veggie sandwich just for that delicious hot peri-peri taste. This is one of the best things to happen to chicken in Canada! A must try.

Some very good chicken. Have been going here since it opened in Calgary. I almost always get the double kabob with spiced rice as the side. They added a 3rd table sauce (wild herb) around the end of 2009 to try on your food. Tuesdays are the days when they have deals. Probably my favorite chicken in Calgary.
I was very excited to find out we finally had a Nando's here quite awhile back. It was my favorite fast food restaraunt in Australia. I like the chicken extra hot with a side of peri fries. Gotta love the peri peri!
