Food was amazing, wine was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. We will go back for sure!!
Good food and great ambiance. It's like a little slice of Europe in Calgary.
Excellent food! Great atmosphere! If you're in Calgary it's an awesome place to take a date, or a party! Or even just yourself for a bowl of Onion soup!
this is a classic, great food, fantastic service. Patrice and the staff are all amazing. They treat each customer as if they were the only ones in the room. The food is so well prepared you would think you were in France, Go for any special meal. it will become a memory
A great bistro that transports you out of Calgary and into the heart of France, with unique decor, great service, delicious wines and fantastic food (best pommes frites EVER!). One of the best dining experiences I have ever had!
Absolutely fantastic! I have lived in Calgary all my life and I have noticed this place hundreds of times but never gone in.. I dont know what took me so long! The food is incredible! I highly recommend :)
First time at Fleur de Sel and loved it the food, ambiance and service. Definitely reminds you a real French bistro. Steak au poivre us to die for. Would definitely recommend going on a week day as it is much quieter. Our server (maybe the owner?) was wonderful and very attentive. Might not look like much from the outside, but feels like a trip to Paris inside. Absolument délicieux et je le recommende!

My wife and I love this place. A taste of French culture. The owner seems really nice and defiantly fits the place. A nice place to take your loved one. Try going on a week day for its a tiny place and very busy.
This place is very tiny and very french. Definitely reminded me of a little bistro in Paris. The service is wonderful and they seem to have a lot of regulars. There was a little birthday celebration with disco lights, balloons and music. The food is very expensive and I didn't love all of it. The mussels were great and so was the steak. The tuna and ratatouille were not to my liking. We were stuffed so we didn't try any dessert. I say I like this place because the service was wonderful and the ambiance was great however I think it is too pricey and with so many wonderful places in Calgary with great food I don't know how soon I'd go back.
Pricey, but amazing. I was there with my partner and we ordered the scallops to start and share, he got the ostrich, I got the duck, we got a bottle of their Mel Soleil Chardonnay and shared the flambe for dessert. So overall, a pretty large meal for $250. We went a little crazy. But the food and wine was all AMAZING, the service was lovely, and their motto is, they close when the last guests leave, which happened to be us on thanksgiving, so we left a handsome tip for the waiter (who was very good to us).
At night, the atmosphere is quaint and intimate.
I think what is on the menu also, you can have a grand dinner, or you can have a much more affordable one. you can buy a $19 entree versus a $39 one.
Excellent lunch cassoulet, see picture
Sausage cooked with giant white beans in a wonderful tomato sauce
2 lamb chops grilled and served on top
Excellent bread and olive oil
This.....is my favorite restaurant in Calgary for a number of reasons...
The food is always "as it should be" well cooked, well presented and balanced. Another reason is the quirkiness of the staff here.... I went once and mentioned to the waiter that it was my birthday. As we left, we were walking away from the restaurant and he came running after us (we were a fair distance away from the restaurant by then...) puffing and panting with balloons in hand to give me for my birthday! (Please note, I am neither female or young. So there was no ulterior motive)
Yes, the owner has been known to pick up a bag he tripped over and throw it (as per an old review ) and perhaps shout on the odd occasion... What more could you have in an authentic French bistro?
I have eaten here numerous times and every time, I have left happy with the feeling that I had a great meal that was worth more than what I paid for and cant wait to go back and experience it again.
Embrace it and enjoy the amazing food here! I highly recommend the lamb!
Parisian escape. The bathrooms rock! The food is devine. French dining at its best.
Lots of contrast. When I first walked in, I thought it was a nice quiet place for a romantic dinner. As the night went on, the tables filled up and there was a birthday celebration complete with disco lights and pot banging. A place of contrasts. Our server did his best to be attentive, but one server for the whole restaurant is a bit short.
My onion soup was boiling hot. I did end up scorching the roof of my mouth but couldn't wait to try it. A tad on the salty side. My ribeye was good, but I have had better naturally or organically raised beef. The vegetables were cooked to a turn. The desserts were spectacular. The Desirs de Roi was really good. Two profiteroles with vanilla ice cream, each topped with either a dark chocolate or chocolate sauce. The chocolate pate and mini vanilla creme brulee were good too.
Let's not forget the washroom decor... Definitely worth another visit.
Everything I would Imagine a Small Bistro in France Would Be. Fantastic! Great food, great service. Very quaint and agreeable. One of my faves in Calgary!
Great food great place. This little place is a rare gem here in cowtown. The food is always right on the mark and the service is the best in town. My husband is a Chef here in Calgary and this is where he and his chef friends like to go for a dinner out. It's small and the space well used giving it a very European feel. The wine list is a perfect match to the menu and the staff more than happy to help with your pairings.
Do try the duck!
Most enjoyable. I wish I was a little more wealthy as I could eat at the Fleur a lot more often. Alas, it must be a place to dine on a special occasion. However, what a great place and a great owner. Lots of fun and some of the best French food that you will ever eat. Superb!!!!

Good. I live in this area and I find the service and food is usually great, but I think it's better suited for couples and small groups. I've seem them struggle over some larger tables and when I went with a larger group (7) they didn't seem prepared for us. Overall, I am very pleased.
Romantic and cozy. I love this place. The room is small and cozy, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is excellent! It really feels like a french brasserie where you eat, you drink, you talk, and you linger. For a true french dining experience in Calgary, go here. And for dessert, try the chocolate paté...for the love of God, try the chocolate paté!
Food to Impress. If you want food and atmosphere that will remind you of your last visit to Montreal or Paris, this is your destination. The restaurant is filled with a vibrant energy that you will swept into within 15 minutes. The staff is beyond friendly. They're super-mega friendly. The knowledge of wine that is contained within each member of the staff will put anyone to shame. The smiling faces of all the staff are a testament of how warm and friendly this restaurant is.
Each dish is robust and so filled with flavor that you cannot really go wrong. Though I do recommend the ratatouille. Servings are ample and leave you satisfied, which really explains the heavy price they come with.
I have never had a bad memory at Fleur de Sel. On Halloween a while back a gentleman dressed like Batman walked into the bar and ordered a shiraz. Then he sat and sang French love songs with the bartender. With this amount of color in one restaurant how could one not resist?
The food is good, the staff is friendly and the guests don’t seem to mind a bit of eavesdropping.
