I really love this place! The portion sizes are huge and the meat is high quality and very tasty. I usually get their vermicelli bowls which are around $12, and they are enough food for two full meals. I usually just pick up the food to go because the restaurant is small and is usually packed with people. I recommend this place to anyone who wants some inexpensive quality food in the NW area.
This is our go-to Vietnamese in the NW. Definitely a few better places around the city but this is the best you’re gonna get in the NW. This place is busy all the time!
In my top three for Beef Satay Noodle Soup! Perfect amount of spice and flavor in the broth. Service is always fast and friendly. I have also tried the salad rolls, vermicelli bowl with pork, and now the papaya salad. The papaya salad was actually delicious. It's not very fruity which was weird, but oh so good.
Great little place tucked away in Ranchlands area of Calgary. Ordered #9 - Rare Beef with Beef Ball; Medium size as looked over at the other tables and be prepared as large is GARGANTUAN. The bean sprouts came mound-full, cooked as requested, and plenty of Thai Basi with 2 slices of Green chilli peppers. And, of course 2-slices of lime. The soup base was excellent with the sense of not being sweet and a very “home-cooked” style of broth and not fatty like some places. Good portions of beef and beef balls. Service was easy and quick. Be prepared as this place is quaint and small - def a full family operation and i like that! Kids up front with ma, and pops in the back.
Great spot highly recommend
It just tastes sooooooo good best pho i ever tasted in calgary the pho is very interesting and fascinating very good high quality and cheap prices
Order here many times and cannot wait for the next.
Best spring rolls ever!
One plate you order gets you everything from season noddles to fresh tender vegetables and perfectly seasoned meats that are cooked to perfection.
Banana ice cream dessert is fantastic!
Services has always been very friendly and kind.
Always order delivery to avoid huge crowds. This place seems very popular.
I'm so happy that I live close by. My go-to pho restaurant. Soup is yummy, service is quick. Sometimes they have a line so prepare yourself. Take out is well packed so if you are on your way home, might as well. My husband and I always order one soup based and one dry. A1+B2
Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by here! The Pho is great and the service is always good! Small little place, but the soup is pretty good! I'll be a regular customer with my friends and I. (:
I'm happy I finally got around to trying this restaurant out. The staff are really sweet and accommodating. Prices are decent considering the portion sizes. We ordered a lot, but my heart was set on the curry with chicken breast. I ate the entire thing to myself!
It's always insanely busy to eat here, so we often get takeout instead. It's always fresh and great tasting! I'm a sucker for Vietnamese subs and theirs are great! Takeout is usually ready in 5-10 minutes
Pho here is decent, usually very quick even for a small place that is usually busy. I've come a few different times and tried various things on the menu. The beef sate pho really just tastes like the regular beef pho with some chili oil in it, disappointing for my preferences. I will continue my search for the best beef sate pho in Calgary!
I grew up in this restaurant. If you have a bad experience, it's probably because of the sheer volume at the time you're there. The food is fast and delicious, and the service is usually friendly (although blunt). I have never enjoyed a Bun as much as here.
Nothing ends an almost-three-week juice cleanse like a few days of good broth-based soup, and what better soup to start with than a nice healthy bowl of delicious pho?
I was craving pretty much everything under the sun for the last two weeks so when it came time to start going back to normal we got this crazy awesome hour long thunderstorm and the first thing that came to mind was "this is perfect pho weather, I'm going to have some for dinner!" That led to looking up local places that had decent reviews, menu and pricing. This place stood out and I suggested to D that we go try it. Some reviews say they have a bit of a wait due to popularity so we weren't altogether surprised that there were 3 parties ahead of us when we got there. The wait really wasn't that bad though, we were seated within 5-10 minutes which worked out well.
The place was packed and smelled really good, the area was pretty clean and the food looked great on the other tables. The woman who took our order seemed to be in a bit of a hurry, we had to keep calling her bit of our order just to get drinks while she was walking away on us. That was the only downside.
The drinks arrived fairly quickly, I had tea and D had a coke. I almost went with a bubbletea but that's too much too soon so I'm waiting until our next visit for that. Our food came not too long after. I received, with the drinks, a nice big plate of fresh beansprouts, lime wedge and basil leaves. The bowl of soup that came was only a medium size, the large is enormous, and I had the #1 - Beef Sate soup (the popular one everyone should try if they like spice). D got the lemongrass chicken bowl with springrolls, salad and vermicelli.
The soup was fantastic - a perfect blend of spice (not just your normal 'oh lets drizzle some chili oil on top and call it sate' type soup that I've found is typical of Calgary Vietnamese places), with tasty big strips of beef, green onion, and noodles that were so easy to work with and very tasty with the hoisin sauce. The noodles picked up the spice of the broth really well so I drank most of the tea no problem. It was heaven in a bowl...so delicious! I even at most of what few beansprouts didn't make it in to my bowl. I couldn't finish the noodles though, too long without food I hadn't had a chance to ask for light on the noodles and they were so tasty I had to cut myself off before I hurt something.
I got to try a bite of D's spring roll and it was delicious - crispy outside, soft well-seasoned filling and I might try that bowl next time...If I don't go for that awesome spicy beef pho again!
Our main server was very attentive, coming by occasionally to make sure everything was good. He was very pleasant and if we actually had needed something I had the feeling we wouldn't be waiting very long for assistance.
We're definitely going back, and I'm hoping to try the salad rolls next time. Best Vietnamese I've had since moving out here, and that would be pretty hard to beat it was so delicious!
One of the best pho joints in the NW. They usually have a small wait around dinner time as the restaurant is not that big but there are also lots of people that do take out. The pho here is really good and broth is really 'beefy' according to my husband. You can ask them for spicy in any of the regular soups and they add their delicious sate which totally changes the taste. I like to do this as I enjoy the assorted meats in the dac biet versus just the pho sate that would only come with beef slices. Will return over and over. Portions are large.
I love their Pho and Boon! So good. It's my go to place for Vietnamese. The owner is really nice as well, and he also opened up his own factory and is one of the main food suppliers for Calgary's Vietnamese restaurants so this place knows what they're doing. Their bubble tea is also very good. I frequent this location a lot and haven't had any bad experiences. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been there yet.
The phos and the subs are really good at this place. Only issue is that it is a small place, most of the time full, and you may feel cramped while in this restaurant.
I went on Sunday for lunch and it was pretty busy. There aren't many seats and it's a pretty small area. I got the beef sate sub and my boyfriend got a vermicelli bowl. The beef sate bread was too soft for my liking, I wish it was toasted a bit more. The flavours of the sub though we're very good. It wasn't too strong in the sate area. The vermicelli bowl was pretty large and the chicken was very good. The Spring rolls were quite large compared to other Vietnamese restaurants and the price was very fair. Overall I enjoyed coming to pho huong.
Best Vietnamese in Calgary, possibly in North America. I am open to trying others but I always end up missing this place when I do. Nothing compares to how this place prepares the meat. The flavor is incredible, addicting, and immense with flavor.
They have pretty good taste of pho. I ordered a small size sate beef soup noodle for 7.75 plus tax, perfect portion for a small eater like me.
Stopped in here tonight for a quick bowl of pho and was pretty satisfied. The broth was flavourful and the service was prompt. My only complaint is that the noodles in the pho are not a flat rice noodle but a rounder noodle that resembles spaghetti.
I live near the restaurant so when I'm craving pho and I don't wanna go far, this is the one. It's a very small and cozy restaurant, it can get quite busy and squishy inside. The service is good and friendly. Definitely try out the sate pho and the fish paste one as well!
Rice vermicelli bowls were great! I had the beef sate with spring rolls and it was delicious. Huge bowl of food for a great price! Would definitely return.
This place is amazing if you want a nice big bowl of pho. They also have amazing wings and deep fried shrimp & squid! I love it!! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves pho.
I have ordered take out a couple times from this place because every time I go there, the restaurant is packed!! The broth is very rich and you can taste all the flavours in the soup. The staff are always very friendly. The food is served pretty fast, and they give you all the sauces and everything when you order take out. This restaurant is close to my place, and I enjoy having a bowl of Pho every once in a while when is chilly outside.
4.0 for value alone, $8 for a huge bowl of pho. Can't go wrong with that.
Had the chicken sate soup, it was nice and spicy but the chicken was over done and bland. Rare beef would have been a better choice (I'm a pho noob). I've been to some questionable pho places and the broth at huong vet didn't have much to set it aside from anything else I've experienced.
All things aside the menu items are priced well, I'd say it's more of quantity over quality here.
Overall good place, fast service, great food, interesting menu choices and lots of atmosphere in the restaurant. Although I usually order take out because it is always super full in there! Prices are good.
Definitely worth a try, would recommend.
I have come many times. The attraction of this place is the food quality and price. However, if you are looking for service, look elsewhere.
Location: there is a lot of parking at the strip mall this is in but also a lot of stairs - so be careful! The restaurant is quite small and the booths and tables are crammed very closely together - makes it hard to get to or leave your table!
Food: Best variety of noodle bowls for the price! They come with a lot of meat and freshly chopped lettuce - not shredded, which I really appreciate. Nothing was too salty although we did ask for extra sauce as the amount of veggies and noodles were too much for only one portion!
Service: fast and pleasant. Would definitely come here again.
Was introduced to this place by a couple a friends and it's been a favourite ever since. I've tried a few of their dish including the won ton soup and wings but the special sate beef noodle soup (#1) remains my go-to. Fantastic flavours, large portions (even the medium bowl) and affordable. The staff is friendly enough, super efficient and always fast. Definitely worth the line-ups!

This place has great pho, great bun, super generous portioning and a really great price. I have to recommend getting takeout though, because this place is an assembly line - if you're in a rush, you'll be in and out in 25 minutes. If you're not in a rush, you'll be in and out in 25 minutes. Don't expect to linger.
Not the soup but sub is ok. I tried their noodle soup a while ago and I didn't like it. But the sate sub I had today was delicious! This will be my new takeout viet sub place in near my home area.
DELICOUS. This place has THE BEST pho sate chicken soup. It's to die for! The large is only $1 more so you may as well get the big one...so good!
This is my new favourite Vietnamese place. They serve such flavourful food at very reasonable prices. Yes, it's cramped, but that just adds to the ambiance. The service is quick, efficient and friendly.
Delicious cheap food. This is our favorite pho restaurant in the NW. I love the cozy feel of the place and never leave feeling hungry. Their soups are great. Favorite appies are chicken wings and shrimp.
Average. Price is very good for the quantity of food. My vermicelli was huge! I couldn't finish it all. The special pho was average. We had heard from friends that their #1 (Sate beef noodle soup) is really good, but it was too bad we didn't try it. Maybe we'll come back and give it a go. Service was ok and our food came out fast. Tip: This place is very small, crowded, and can get a bit chaotic.
Great for Take Out. Never eaten in here as it always seems super crowded and hectic. Take out has been fantastic though. Pricing, food quality is on par with mose Viet places but a little more in terms of quantity. Never had problems with take out. Call in, ready in 10 minutes, pick up.
Very friendly, good pho, nice atmosphere.
For sure a place for dinner or lunch.
Pho Noodle is pretty good.. Well, I only eat Pho Noodle at Vietnamese restaurants. I tried here several times except one time they made mistake ( I asked no raw onion, but they take way green onion instead), which took forever to correct it & by the time I got my food it was cold....
However, other times I went to this place I had great time with my wife, I eat Pho noodle & she only eats crispy fried noodle.
Not the best place, but I definitely recommend to people,
Super good. Pho Huong Viet is close to home, the soup base is made very well, noodles always consistent in texture. The bubble tea is good, and the service is prompt. The only downside is how small the restaurant is, and how packed it can get sometimes, there is literally no waiting area. It can get cold sometimes in the winter when the doors are always open because of people waiting.
Great food & great price. We do really enjoy coming here. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. We never
had any problems with services here. The food here is much better than most of Vietnamese foods I've tried from other places.
I really recommend it.

Delicious!. I've been eating here for quite some time, and they never disappoint. Food is great, price is right, service is friendly, and they always remember my name. This family also owns two restaurants by Westbrook Mall - Viet Sub express, and Huong Viet. The same great service and food await you there, as well.
Good soup in town good deal.....
Happy Customer. Great place in the NW, not the best Pho place in Calgary but definitely one of the better ones. There are very few Pho places in the surrounding communities and is a great place for a quick eat. The downside of this place is the wait which is ridiculious during lunch and dinner, also a little heavy on the salt.
Still upcoming super stars. I was fortunate enough to find this quaint little place while living near the area and wanted a bowl. Thats right a bowl not a soup...ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO! Anyway, turns out its the best place in town.. Hands down the best, as I drive for a living I find myself always grabbing a soup, or bowl thats my thing. 50 or more places and none compare to Pho Huong Viet!!! I AM A SOUP GUY AND THERE SOUP IS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD AND PORTIONS ARE GIGANTIC!!!! AS ARE THE BOWLS!!! LIKE SERIOUSLY PEOPLE HUGE YOU CANNOT FINISH THESE DELECTABLE DELIGHTS!! As a now regular i ordered takeout and got into crash.... MY waiter actually bought me my soup while talking to cops.. These people are hell bent on customer service and are very busy but if you see it lined up whatever whats 10 mins for the best? 10 mins longest time ive had my food in 2 years so they are doing great :) BTW sampled the menu A these guys dont mess around.... CHEAPEST IN CALGARY AND BEST BY MILES!!!!!!!!!!!! price dont matter
Literally one of the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been too they're really busy at lunch so I avoid it and eat late lunches here :)
Good place with huge portions. I remember when this place first opened we were so excited to try it with hopes that it would be better than all the other vietnamese restaurants in the area. Although it can't compare to any place on 17th Ave, I do think it's by far the best place that is in the NW which is closer to my house.
We go here on average of at least twice a month, the pho has huge portions and the broth is pretty good. I've also tried their vermicelli dishes which are also very generous in size, and everything is so decently priced!
The owner is super friendly and always stops by to chat with my viet hubby since we are regulars. It does get really busy during peak hours, with the line snaking out the door, but turnover is pretty quick, the kitchen is really efficient at pumping out orders.
Would definitely recommend!
My favorite. I was not a fan for Vietnamese food in the past until one of my friend commanded me to this restaurant few years ago, and I have been returning to visit every since. Food was delicious, service was quick, restaurant was clean :)
You may have to wait around the doorway for a table, as the restaurant has no waiting or seating.
Good Food at reasonable prices. Meal portions right on for the bigger eater, and plenty of choice.
A vortex of crazy... Seriou.... A vortex of crazy...
Seriously, so many strange people (serving & customers) in this place. Service was rude and the bill was on the table before me & my date finished (so much for desert). Everyone who made contact with this one waiter in paticular made a "wtf face" to who they were with. Food was pretty good... But it was hard to look past the dude crying in the corner drinking by himself. Food must be good if this place is still around with this kind of strange...
Small but cozy restaurant. Soup #1(medium) portion was good but the taste was a bit plain and the broth was not piping hot. Deserves another visit to see if they have better days.
Always a favorite!! I need to start ordering other things on the menu besides B8. :-)
Don't eat in unless you have to. We've been ordering from here consistently for 2 years and we always take out ... they focus on food, not atmosphere. And yet, the place is always packed.
It's SO inexpensive for the quality of food and the portions are huge- one Pho is easily two meals- and if you get a viet sub with your Pho, you're set for days.
...It's a messed up world where we can get this kind of food and service for less than the cost of a fast food combo... No brainer.
I think everyone who had a bad time here is just reflecting their own mood about their life into a restaurant. Is it small? Yes. But in every other country I've visited, this is how you eat, at a table a foot away from someone you don't know. I think it's our culture that finds close quarters so negative. At first, I started visiting Pho Huong because it was in my neighbourhood, but I keep coming back because of the incredible people and great food. I have tried every Vietnamese restaurant in the northwest and can safely say that they have the best Pho beef soup in that corner of town. About the third time I had come, all the staff recognized me, introduced themselves and asked my name. Now, about 6 months later, they don't even need to ask my order. They are really accommodating to any size group, and if you are willing to wait 15-30 minutes on a weekend at lunch, you will get some of the most delicious Vietnamese food I have ever experienced.
Very good food with big very filling portions. We'd order there again, no problem.
Amazing bang for your buck. I generally get one of the special combo vermicelli dishes to go and the portions are absolutely massive... and more importantly, taste great.
One complaint was that I got the pho to go once and it didn't come in a bowl... just the normal rectangular to-go dish and it didn't work at all. I had to add a little broth, then take a few bites, and repeat. I don't know if that's normal from them or if they were out of the bowls but something to look out for anyways.
Good food, too cramped. This is our fave Vietnamese place in the NW -- very small space and cramped though. Better to take out.
I find the restaurant is small however the food here is such amazing. The large size soup bowl is so big that I couldn't finish. I love the satay number one noodle soup...so tasty, the stirfry dishes Beef & vegetable served very fresh. Service here is so fast and the prices are really really reasonable. Definitely I will recommend it to all of my friend.
