Mouth watering Thai food . Had ordered through skip the dishes and believe me the food reached in less than the estimated time for delivery .
If you are a spicy food lover , Devil’s chicken is got to be your pick . Haven’t tried all the main course dishes yet , but their Tamarind chicken is also quite decent . The place is a must for Thai lovers in the town .

Thai inspired cuisine always has a special place in my heart (which is in my stomach). The staff are very educated on the menu and are happy to cater to any dietary special requests! The portions are quite satisfying indeed and although its  a small space on 17th its a very well used small space!Anything on the menu is delicious! Ambiance is very refreshing and sufficient lighting great for lunch or dinner with colleagues or a date! I usually order take out since I live 2 doors down :) The noodles are well cooked and amazing bursts of what I can only assume is authentic Thai flavors!!

Good place for fast-food style Thai. Portions are generous, and everything is always prepared quickly and tastes fresh. The Massaman beef curry ($10) was nicely balanced and flavourful, and the quality of the beef was good. I was disappointed that there were no peanuts in the curry, though. I had previously gotten the sweet rice dessert ($5) and it was really good, but unfortunately the most recent time I ordered it it was pretty bad. The rice was sweet and had a nice coconut flavour, but the dish was ridiculously salty (I'm not sure if someone maybe added salt instead of sugar?!) and the mango was horribly stringy. Might be back to try some of the other main dishes but I'll probably skip dessert.

Randomly found this restaurant while on 17th Ave and decided to try it out! Interior was beautiful, great atmosphere.

Ordered Pad Thai with chicken, the flames, ginger prawns and vegetarian spring rolls. Both mains were great, my boyfriend and I thought the two appetizers were very average.

I would recommend ordering the mains only - we plan on returning to try them all! Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

Stopped in for lunch during the week.  I would consider Tuk Tuk Thai more of a fast food restaurant where you can sit and eat or take it to go.  My friend ordered Pad Thai $10 which came in the most intricate folded lotus flower-shaped box while I went straight for dessert and ordered the Sweet Rice (sticky rice, coconut milk, fresh mango) $5.  while I thought the portion of the dessert was small, it was probably the right amount for such a sweet dish.

Personally I think it’s a little expensive but I also find Thai food a bit pricier than the other Asian cuisines. The pricing is however, comparable to other Thai fast food such as Pad Thai in the malls – and if that’s what you’re comparing it to, then Tuk Tuk Thai is much better in both quality and value.

Service was excellent.  I was surprised when someone from the back/kitchen, actually came by to our table to ask how our food was. Elevated fast food restaurant.

Although it isn't authentic Thai food place, I wouldn't mind eating here again. The ambience is great and the service is prompt. Food tastes good and serves well to have quick lunch on working days.

Great place. Had a couple bumps in the road due to new staff however wherever they have fallen short I have talked to them personally and they always make the situation right.
I was privileged to try the noodles made by the winner of the Bangkok pad Thai contest. A famous old man down off of thong la train station. That is the standard to which I base all pad Thais. And of all I've tried in this city, tuk Tuks come fairly close. Of course with every pad Thai you have to season yourself. Some prefer sweeter. I myself prefer more sour and pungent. Sweet pad Thais are western thing, as it should have balance between all 5 flavours. Tuk Tuks always fulfill that craving and at a great price too.

I thought that Tuk Tuk Thai lived up to my Thai takeout expectations. I was fully satisfied with my tasty meal, and will most definitley return. I also recommend buying two meals if you plan on eating alone, one for lunch and one for dinner!

I've seen this place during my numerous passes up and down 17th Avenue over the months and always wondered about what the food tasted like. Well yesterday I had the chance to pop by for a quick pad Thai which was really good and a papaya salad.

The papaya salad was fresh, crispy, and full of flavour. A little on the wet sauce side but hey we did finish it easily.

The interior was quite mesmerizing where I caught myself staring at the giant Montage that you just don't see these days in food offerings around town. The decorative mini cab vehicles were a nice touch.

Price was reasonable at $16ish for the two dishes total. The pad Thai came in their signature take out box that opened like a flower blossom into a dish, kinda cool.

Flavourful, fast nutritious lunch is what I had here. Been wanting to try this place for a while.  Finally...
Ordered the Flames (beef stir fry with fresh vegetables) and an appetizer portion (2) of chicken spring rolls.  Both were delicious.
The space is colourfully decorated with photos and murals depicting scenes in Thailand. The unique salad bar and beverage fridge housed in the back end of a tuk tuk (Thai scooter - sport ute). Seating comprises 2 communal tables (for 22) and one round table for 2-3.
Within 10 minutes my order was ready and I was enjoying it in a unique paper box which resembles a lotus flower and opens up as a bloomed lotus (cool!). The Flames beef stir fry had slices of round beef blended with colourful fresh vegetables, yellow carrots, broccoli, green beans, bamboo shoots and plenty of fresh Thai basil. The sauce had enough heat for me, but a touch sweet (for my personal taste). Shriracha sides are available for extra heat. Also came with a choice of jasmine or coconut rice (latter at no extra charge!). It is very good value for $10.
The spring rolls were freshly fried, served piping hot out of the fryer with a thimble of sweet chili dipping sauce. They were stuffed with a mixture of mung bean vermicelli, wood fungus, carrots and carrots. (2 for $3).
This reminds me of street food in Bangkok, but with upscale seating and a clean, colourful washroom. Beats some of the YYC food trucks for value.
I'll be back.
Note: the entrance door may not be obvious. It features an automatic sliding door (a la Star Trek). Walk towards the middle of the shop facade and the door will open. More cool!

How can you be a restaurant on 17th Ave and charge the prices that Tuk Tuk Thai charges, and provide tasty food with generous portions? I don't know, but I'm glad they're there! My group and I came here for an early dinner and ordered a large amount of food.  Hubs and I shared the satay chicken, chicken spring roll, papaya salad as appys and I thought everything was nicely flavorful and well executed.  I had the drunken basa as my main and didn't realize there was a bit of heat to it so it was a bit challenging to eat (I am very sensitive to spice) but it was very tasty.  My brother's masman beef curry had tender cubes of beef brisket, and the pad Thai's were a huge, generous portion with hints of tamarind sauce.  My brother's gf didn't enjoy her Moo Moo Lemon as the citrus taste was too overpowering for her.  Overall I think we enjoyed our meals and wouldn't hesitate to come back!

I meant to write this review weeks ago. I came here for a lunch. The space is very welcoming and considering how small it is there was enough space for everyone to sit. The green curry was delicious. I would definitely order it again (but perhaps without the tofu). The tuki sticks were amazing as well. Can't wait to come and try more items. The price is just right !

THAI AND STOP EM!

Thailand… Land of spicy food, Tuk Tuk’s, beautiful beaches, and one particular beach where a young Leonardo Dicaprio stole the hearts of a generation in “The Beach”.

I have tried a lot of Thai, from the streets of Thailand to the Suncor food court with Thai Express, but it never really hit the mark as a place I would deliberately venture… Only to go to when the Opa line was too long or flight tickets were cheap, HOWEVER Tuk Tuk Thai has everything it needs to be my staple “go to” place on 17th for food. Good prices, amazing quality, friendly staff, and a unique establishment!

My favourite dish has got to be the shrimp rolls but honestly every dish hit the spot. The Pad Thai also hit the spot. Sean noticed that the spice was a little downplayed from traditional Thai but I am sure if you asked the friendly staff they would pull out some of the traditional heat for you. Also, it should be noted that the bathrooms are IMPECCABLY clean, which is rare on 17th ave.

Next time you are walking down 17th, just walk in and Thai something, Thai anything! Pick something random off the menu and give it a shot! All these little dishes are meant to share and be enjoyed! Or just pop in to use the washrooms.

Check out our full review and what our other couple felt on our site at the link below!

The food here is tasty and the place has a fun vibe. Tried the flames beef and it was spicy and delicious. The boxes seem like a little bit of waste of paper and aren't the best to eat in. The portion size is good but the price a bit high for it. Polite and fast staff. Overall though good experience.

Great new thai joint on 17th ave! The interior is filled with memoirs of Thailand and have a cute tuk tuk fridge. I tried the shrimp pad thai and chicken green curry and both were fantastic- flavourful and authentic, bringing me back to Thailand. Their thai iced tea is a must try as well. Very smooth and creamy. Its the best thai food I've had in Calgary for a great price!

Tuk Tuk Thai's price ($10 for an entree) is comparable to the food court's popular pick of Thai Express by being a dollar or two more expensive. While the portions may be smaller, Tuk Tuk Thai makes up for it in quality. I ordered the Beef Masman Curry and definitely agree that it's worth the $10. The curry was flavourful and the beef and potatoes were tender. The only thing that could have been improved was more curry sauce! I would've had no complaints if I could've drench my coconut rice with more curry.

Along with that, my friends and I ordered the ginger prawns (2 in an order), chicken satay (2 in an order), and fried tofu as our appetizers to share so that we could try a few more things. All appetizers are $3 each, of which I found a bit pricey for the amount given. However, it was tasty enough that I would recommend trying out a few of the appetizers.

When I go to particular BBT shops in Calgary, I'm usually inclined to order the Thai milk tea (half sweet of course), so there was no hesitation when my friend recommended the Thai ice tea. It was the right level of sweetness and a good refreshing drink to finish off the flavourful meal.

With an appetizer, main entree and a beverage, I paid $16. I would definitely recommend coming to Tuk Tuk Thai if you're craving some legit Thai food. It's also more affordable than the other dine-in Thai restaurants that you find in Calgary. Another bonus is that it's open late on Fridays and Saturdays, so it makes a great late night alternative after you stumble your way out of a eventful night at the nearest club/bar.

Tuk Tuk Thai is a delicious endeavour that emphasizes the traditional tastes of Thailand. Located on 17th Ave, the interior is actually set up pretty well for seating, in spite of the size of the storefront. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was fantastic as well. I ordered the pad thai and chicken satay. The chicken was cooked to a tender texture, and I found the satay sauce to go quite well with the consistency of the meat. The pad thai was well done, with a burst of flavour in every bite, and the noodles cooked to a nice degree, creating a balanced meal. One piece of personal preference was that I felt it was only slightly on the dry side after finishing the dish, and a little more sauce might help remedy that. The condensed milk roti is a must to finish off with, served warm and fresh with just the right amount of condensed milk. The Thai tea is authentic and flavourful as well, mixing the strong taste of traditional tea with the sweetness of condensed milk. Overall though, Tuk Tuk Thai is definitely a great option to grab food on the go, or pop by for a quick meal!

New favourite Thai place in Calgary! Great food, fast service, clean space! We tried the Ginger Shrimp, Pad Thai with Chicken, Cashew Chicken, and a Thai Iced Tea. Delish! A must try if you're around 17th Ave.

Hungry? Craving some Gourmet fast food besides Wendys, McDonalds, or even Pho? Calgary is beginning to expand in the food culture with some delicious restaurants that offer quick service but high quality food. One of them that I have blogged about is Watercress Express, which offers a quick upscale Vietnamese dining experience. Next on the list is a new restaurant that recently opened and has been buzzing all over Instagram with their Thai dishes... Tuk Tuk Thai. After reading Jennys (hermoderncanvas) detailed blog post on Tuk Tuk Thai, I knew it was time for me to go experience it myself.

Had the Green curry.  It was very tasty!   Fresh made, fresh ingredients.  Just wish there was a bit more seating.  Take out the tiny floor stools and put in a few tables.   I get you want something neat and cool, but not practical at all.

If you’re a frequent visitor to 17th ave like I am, it is most likely that you have noticed a new member of the restaurant community of 17th Ave. There has been a variety of restaurants creating huge competition among the businesses. Filled with pizza and wine, there isn’t as much authentic Asian foods on that avenue. Tuk Tuk Thai is new to the street and is turning 3 months old. They may be newly opened but they have an extensive history in the restaurant industry- specifically in Thai cuisine.

A fun unique spot on 17th ave that's hidden behind the patios the restaurants have. Not your typical restaurant as it's like a fast food style where you order food at the counter and bring it to a seat. They do have limited seating so it's good to bring it to eat it elsewhere during prime hours. Their food is good. It's been one of the better pad thais I've had in Calgary. The packaging is unique and cute so bonus points for that. Staff and service is friendly as well.

Super cute little place. The food is amaziiinngggg. It comes in these cool take out boxes that open up like a flower. The green curry is the best I've had in Calgary even compared to the fine dining restaurants. The staff is really sweet and answered all my questions and gave me detailed suggestions.

I ordered a masman beef curry and a Thai iced tea. Both delicious! After reading the reviews and hearing what my friend had to say, I was hesitant about trying this place. My food was flavourful and the beef was tender and the potatoes were soft. I would definitely come back.

Second visit and my God, what a turnaround. First time here I got the krapow (basil) beef and it was bland, bland, bland even though I requested extra spicy, and the veg portion was coarsely chopped green pepper and there was just zero love there. I posted a review at another site and the owner messaged me saying that he'd hired a cook from another (excellent) Thai place... I relented and tried the same dish today and wow NIGHT AND DAY improvement! Crazy hot, with nice long beans instead of those crappy bell peppers, and the taste profile was just perfect for krapow- salty and spicy and MM MM good! $10 gets you this bit of perfection with an ample serving of jasmine rice in a very cute paper container. So, so, so happy I gave them another chance- this was possibly the best basil dish I've had since my fave quick service Thai place went out of business in Toronto 15 years ago. Try it and ask for extra hot, you'll thank me.

The food here is absolutely delicious and it's a place where I can bring my vegan daughter for lunch.
I love the gorgeous panel art on the north wall and the cute little Tuk Tuks used as drink coolers. It reminds me of our time in Thailand, taking a tuk tuk up the mountain to see the giant Buddha with the whole family. Who needs roller coasters when you have tuk tuks....HA!
I only gave Tuk Tuk Thai 3.5 stars because I don't like their seating. One long table, one small tall table ( with really short stools), and scattered stools just don't cut it. We sat at the end of the long table and froze because the only way in is via a sliding door and it was open a lot. I'm not even going to attempt to visit in the winter...though they do a great take away business.

What a fun looking quick stop joint. If u find yourself along 17th ave you have to try their fried tofu!!! Wow... Just wow. Amazing flavour of mild curry. An amazing little snack as walk around or as an alternative. Also tried their pad tai which was pretty bland, but not horrible to any extent. What wasn't too bad was the green curry dish which I had the coconut rice with. Both dishes seem to be missing something. But I would come back here just to try out what else they have to offer for those quick snacks. That fried tofu was impressive.. So much so that I gobbled it down before I could take a picture 😣
Swing by an try it out, you refer the quick stop.

Went here with some friends last night and really enjoyed it. Atmosphere is bright and casual but there is limited seating. The four of us shared a variety of appetizers and each had a main and the bill was more than $80, so a little steep for fast food. The food itself was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. What stood out was the service. The fellow behind the counter took care of us better than most servers at a sit down resturant. He even brought over some mango for a friend after he noticed it was her birthday. I'll definitely go back.

A small place, that's beaming with bright colors (especially green). The addition of bright tuk tuk props adds character to the store.

The service was friendly, fast and knowledgeable of the menu items. We ordered Thai ice tea, pad Thai and a sticky rice with mango for desert.

The presentation was definitely nice especially the way the pad Thai was packaged (see my Instagram post). Although the pad Thai wasn't spicy even though the server told me it is. Regardless it has a nice balance of sweet, sour, and seasoning.

The Thai ice tea was superb. Strong taste from the tea and the sweetness from the condense milk. As for the sticky rice with mango, the rice was consistent in soft texture with the right amount of coconut. The mango could be better if it was more ripen.

Overall for the price, a little high for me even as a fast food. But food and service quality met expectations.

Didn't actually stop into the restaurant itself but got some through Door Dash. Pad Thai was delicious and the noodles were chewy. The green curry was actually spicy but not over the top such that you'd be running for milk. The Thai ice tea was smooth, delicious and actually not overpriced. As a great terminator once said, "I'll be back..."

First time customer and enjoyed the vibe walking into the place for pickup. Ordered tamarind chicken lotus box and tom yum prawns. The chicken was nicely coated with a good level of heat and the soup was pretty authentic (good dose of lemon grass). Overall a good experience and will be trying other items on the menu..maybe the Drunken Basa?

Ordered take out via skip the dishes app. The food is delicious, non greasy and flavourful. One important to note is the packaging - whether its compostable or recyclable is amazing. It also holds all the food very well and unique to how it opens and stores food. The thai ice tea is perfectly sweetened - not too sweet. A really good place to grab some thai food (that seems like fast food but doesnt taste anything like it).
