We have heard a lot about this place and finally came to check it out. It is exactly like a village as its name suggests. It has so much to offer, from unique European gifts to German baked goods to deli items to a dining room/takeout station with hot food. It definitely made us feel like we were in a mini European village...they got good vibes here.
We bought a few items including some deli items, a cool cookie cutter, a few hot chocolate packs, and some hot food to try. Some items are a bit pricey but hopefully it's worth it. I am looking forward to see how the German cookie cutter works. We tried the pork schnitzel and mild bratwurst. Both were good but the bratwurst definitely had more flavour. We will visit again later if we need to get a feeling of Europe again.

Quaint European exterior. I love the hybrid concept of a cafe, butchery/deli, gift shop, grocer in a single establishment. The staff were asking if I needed help finding anything and seemed very friendly and lovely. Definitely will revisit to try the eats.

Fantastic selection all year round but this year's Easter treats are exceptional! Love the international food selection and wonderful service. This is truly a Calgary treasure. #yyc

A magical place
Visiting this store just before Christmas for the first time gave me probably the best possible impression. The store is filled with the most beautiful baked goods, meals, Christmas decorations, ceramics, baking and cooking utensils, sweets and even some remedies - everything original from Western Europe (Germany, Austria, Holland etc.)
I was mainly blown away by their cookie cutter selection, but found other gems like molten wine spice and a Marzipan Stollen as well.

Visited this place upon recommendation by my Auntie in-law. The establishment is really nicely located and quite pretty from the outside. Inside is super clean, and I REALLY enjoyed the selection of gorgeous hand made steins and cuckoo clocks!
We had a bit of food too: schnitzel, Rouladen, and some Black Forest cake. The highlight was certainly the cake, the rest was just alright.
I also managed to find some Dutch peppermints that I really enjoy, and remind me of my youth.
What a fun nostalgic place for me to visit!

Went here to buy Marzipan at the request of my wife. I asked the staff if they could help me out and a lady gave me this saying it was Marzipan. It turns out it was not Marzipan (over double the almond percentage of commercial Marzipan). When I tried to return it, less then an hour later, unopened and untouched, I was told they would not take it back, and it was not up for discussion.

This place is amazing. They treat you like family when you walk it’s worth walking through to see all that they offer. It’s a true escape to another world! If you haven’t already, you should try their Black Forest Cake. Probably one of the best I’ve had in years. This is a true gem in our city

Wonderful discovery near the University and Motel Village in Calgary. Truly much closer than what appears on the the map. Fantastic selection of deli items, lunch specials, pastries, baked goods, German and Dutch cooking utensils, you name it. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Lots of parking.

My wife and I came in for take-out today. We love the food and our original server. When we got the register to pay an older woman in glasses, who acted like she was in charge asked who helped us today. We told her because we were so happy with that servers service. The "supervisor" got livid when she asked why we had our combo split into 2 containers. We explained that we didn't want the cabbage roll sauce getting all over our perogies and sour cream and the server was nice enough to put the cabbage roll in a separate container. She shouted back "That's NOT the way we do thing around here! You have to order separately!"....Then she dressed down her employee in front of us telling her the same thing. We were treated like we committed a crime! We love the food and didn't want the sauce to run over everything, is that so wrong? We pay a premium price for your food, shouldn't we have it packed the way we want?

I love going there as it reminds me of our family vacations in Germany. Whenever I’m homesick for Germany I go there. However every time I bring my son there who is 2.5 years old, one of the staff members seem to get their nose out of joint. It is the only German store in the city, so I don’t have a choice. I wouldn’t be going there weekly.
Their food is mediocre at best. The Austrian Canadian Club has way better Austrian German food.

My Hungarian friend and I treat ourselves to a yearly visit here. It's always busy and for good reason. For a reasonable price you get about 10lbs of hearty and authentic Euro comfort food. The bakery is always stocked with fresh treats to tempt.

I wish there was another store in the south as my family is in Okotoks....However, every visit is a special one...
I just wish the giftstore was a bit more affordable.. but i also realize why its not...
