Absolutely love Fionn Macools they have a really great menu with amazing pub classics. I got the Guinness Steak and Mushroom Bowl. The bowl was made of Yorkshire pudding topped with mashed potatoes. Great neighborhood pub.

My co-workers and I come here often. We really love the atmosphere, the friendly staff & the food is always fresh and delicious! The manager Justin always goes out of his way to say hi and ask how we are doing, as does their bartender Jim. We feel right at home! Favourites on the menu have to be the French Onion Soup (AMAZING), the deep friend pickles (YUM), Poutine (perfect fries, amazing gravy & the meltiest curds!) & the blood orange martini (need I say more)

Nice spot for lunch and to grab a drink. My work colleagues and I went in on a Friday for lunch and the service was very good. The food was OK, but the waitress was very attentive and welcoming. Would come back again to try something else!

Nice!. Had lunch there today and was very impressed. Prices are quite reasonable for a downtown hotel pub. Service was 100%. Fish & Chips was beautify made. Am planning to go on a weekend to see if service and food remains unchanged.

Much Improved. A few years ago we used to go to Fionn's a lot after work but with the growth of the gastropub in Calgary we stopped our Fionn's journeys because the food was atrocious compared to the new alternatives. Great for a pint and not much else.

Well, I am not sure when the change happened but if you haven't been to Fionn's in some time I can tell you that they have transformed the menu and it is much, much better. They've incorporated a bit of gastopub flair but, mostly, it's good, solid pub food. My last lunch was a stacked Reuben with fries, which wasn't deli quality but was above average. The fish and chips is also quite good and the boxties are solid, simple, homey comfort food.

Beer selection is decent and service has never been an issue at the Eau Claire spot. Would definitely recommend if you haven't been in awhile and it is going back on our lunch and after work drinks rotation. 3/5.

First visit.  Service a tad slow but great place for conversation. Just had a beer, and a beer is a beer.  A happy pub with live music.  Still OK. 65%

Good service in a cozy pub. The food here is good - not stellar - but I must say the service we got beat the heck out of the service my husband and I normally get in many other Calgarian establishments. We were there to send off a colleague of his who was moving, so there were maybe 6-7 of us and we were all served our libations quickly and politely. I was happy enough with the selection - Harp, Smithwick's, etc... We also shared a vegetable flatbread and potato skins. The flatbread was pretty tasty (I think the vegetable-skeptics were pleasantly surprised), but the skins weren't all that great. They were more like "twice-baked/stuffed potato wedges". That's fine, but don't call 'em skins, and put some flavour in there. Otherwise everything came out hot, and in decent time.

As pints kept flowing, there came a point that the last few stragglers (namely me, my husband and the guy moving) needed some dinner. We each got the Guinness steak and mushroom crock. At this point, my taste buds are into "anything tastes good mode" thanks to my intake, so just be aware. Still, what came out was a good-sized meal of tender beef chunks and 'lil button mushrooms in a rich dark (though overly salty) gravy topped with a big "plop" of mashed potatoes. I say "plop" because this was literally just dropped on with a serving spoon - no matter, I just spread it over my crock, though it would look that much better if they'd spread it or piped it over the whole thing. I eagerly scarfed the whole thing down, along with the tender-crisp vegetables on the side. Not bad for $11.99 (regular-size crock).

Besides the courteous and timely service, there was live music that night. I can't remember the guy's name ('twas May 26th), but he played some good CCR (Green River), Vaughan (Cold Shot) and other great artists. Very nice. Tie that in with a nice cozy atmosphere with lots of windows to look upon a rainy downtown evening and you've got a nice pub night.

My favorite place in the world right now for eating Lamb Shank. I have bean here 5 times and have not been able to order anything else but the Lamb as it is so delicious. This is A must try if you enjoy Lamb. May sometime i will explore the rest of the menu. The service is also to my satisfaction and the price is right. Not to mention they have the best Non alcoolic beer in the world (erdinger) if i spelled it right.

Not awesome, but good.. Fionn's is not the best pub in Calgary by a long shot, but it's a good place. The food and service are both nice, and the ambiance is great (I love Irish pubs). I find the servings tend to be a little small for the price... one helping of potato skins really doesn't go far in a group. My only solid complaint is the curry: for something that's become a staple dish in the UK, I expected a little more pizazz. I will probably stick to eating the highly irish meals, particularly the guiness stews and pot pies.

Good and filling food and proportions. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Conveniently located inside of the Sheraton. Both indoor and out door seating gives you great options depending on weather.

I am giving this four stars and trying not to let my experience with our server taint everything but it was less than ideal. My companion and I were seated for over 5 minutes on a fairly quiet Thursday evening before we were given menus. We needed some time to decide on drinks but i think 10 minutes is too long of a wait to come and take our orders. We were ready to order food by the time that our drinks came but our server plopped them down without a word and walked away to the next table. We finally did get our food and it was fan-freaking-tastic! To start we shared the mini yorkies which were a great value for the price. My lentil salad was a unique blend of vegetables and was very refreshing. My companion’s calamari was well-done- not rubbery & her sweet potato fries were of good quality. As for the ambience it was what one would expect and the TVs were at an appropriate volume level to allow for conversation.

This is a nice warm place to get out of the cold. The atmosphere is just right and the food is tasty, whether you just want a snack or you want a full meal.

Atmosphere is great and the location is perfect. We sat on the patio and the service was average but not very friendly. I had the chicken taco special and the fixings were very tasty but the chicken was stale like it was prepared a long time in advance. Overall the beer was cold and the location made for a good lunch.

Great bar and staff. Go for a drink stay for conversation with bar flies and Ben. Blarney cheese is something to try. Very different menu than other pubs . Irish menu. Needs a wing night. Live music once a week is nice. Kid friendly till 8pm

One of the better hotel pubs. It’s got a bit of everything - cocktails, decent beer selection, and good Irish Pub food. Sports are onscreen, but with the volume down so they don’t dominate. Cozy atmosphere, especially if you’re staying in the Sheraton.

Food is great, prices are reasonable (except when they charge for a double and give you a single). This has happened to me twice, the first time I went back to get my money due to being overcharged, the bartender distinctively remembered making the drink and said it was definitely not a double. The second time it happened I blamed myself for ordering the same drink, I didn't bother complaining. It seems when you order a whiskey sour you'll receive a single (as you should) but be charged for a double. Very busy during the lunch period, but staff are friendly.
