Amazing Italian food. I love the family atmosphere owner created. You feel like you are home as soon as you walk in. I will recommend this place to everyone without hesitation.

We were there last night for a food and wine pairing. The food was fantastic and lots of it not just a tasting menu. The service was second to none they make you feel like one of the family and will definitely go again. Have been there several times for lunch and the food and service has been excellent each time.
Just had the most amazing dinner at Franca's tonight! Food, atmosphere and service were 10/10. Definitely my new favourite restaurant and I even managed to buy a beautiful sterling silver bracelet imported from Italy as well!! Thank you to Mario and Franca for a fantastic evening and we will be back soon! Highly recommend!!!!

To Franca and her family, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! This restaurant is such a hidden gem in the N.E. area! Franca and her family treat each guest as if they are family. She walks through the dinning room greeting each guest with some much love and enthusiasm and excitement, I felt like a regular after the first experience! The food was absolutely sublime, it's impossible to get Italian food like this anywhere else in the city. So much care and love put into the plates. Franca's outranked some of my favourite spots in the city such as, Teatro, Cibo, Niko's and Lina's. Will be back soon!
Wonderful service! The staff was so friendly and made you feel like family. Every meal from the appetizer through to desert was perfect and flavorful. In addition, the wine was well selected and the cappuccino was the best I have ever had. Will definitely return and recommend.

Absolutely the BEST food I've ever eaten in my life! From the fantastic flavors and freshness of the salad, to the absolutely mouth watering pasta, to the to-die-for beef tenderloin - everything was beyond excellent! To make the experience even better was the relaxing and inviting atmosphere and the warmth of the staff.

I went here for a Christmas party this year and was totally blown away. The attention to detail in everything from place setting to the food. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Each course was spectacular, but the caprese salad, what I would call bruchetta chicken with arugala were my favourites. For dessert we had an affogato with biscotti that was just as outstanding as everything else.
I didn't know this place existed before, but will definitely be back.Thank you for your hospitality! I hope you start a yelp page too.
Excellent authentic Southern Italian cooking. Try the gnocchi and veal lemone...and don't miss the scampi! This family run restaurant reminds me of trips to southern Italy every time I eat there, which is about once a month. Best value in Calgary IMHO.
This is a lovely lunch spot with high quality food. It is a family favourite. My sister frequently takes business clients here and always has warm and friendly service from the owners and staff. We came here for a birthday lunch and shared many dishes and were blown away!
Like going home to Mom's. You are treated like family to the best Italian food. The set menu on Saturday evenings is always superb. The perfect place to go for a special celebration. My girlfriend and I always go to celebrate our Birthdays and have to go in between Birthdays to be spoiled by Franca and Mario.

Great spot!. I'm becoming a big fan of Francas! I absolutely love tortellini and they definitely did the dish right. Their desserts are to die for! There's so many delicious sounding items on their menu. A Nutella panini?! I'll be coming back to try that!
Amazing Food & Amazing Family. If you haven't experienced Franca's on a Saturday night you are truly missing out. The food is second to none and the service will keep you coming back for more. At 6:00pm your a customer by 8:00pm your family. There is truly nothing else like it in Calgary.
AMAZING. We have been amazed everytime we go their for dinner. The food is amazing and so is the service. You feel like part of the family when you go there. Your never rushed and always leave with a smile( and a full stomach). All the food is authentic and delicious. A must for lovers of food.

A Calgary Hidden Gem. It's surprising that it's hard to find decent Italian in Calgary but, sadly, it's been the case for many years. The terrific new pizza joints opening recently have filled some of the void but there is still a lack of quality Italian family dining.
Enter Franca's. For $40, a Saturday night at Franca's might be the absolute best value in town. A 4-course meal that impressed on every level. The polenta appetizer was excellent and set the tone for the meal. It was followed by an in-house made pasta dish that would have been $20 anywhere else. Want a main course? How about an 8-ounce filet mignon cooked perfectly. Desserts were wonderful, tasty, fresh pastries shipped in from Italy. Definitely don't leave the cannolis....
Service was exceptional. Friendly and prompt. It's a family run operation and it certainly feels like a family dining experience. But it's the value that stands out. In a city where you have far too many restaurants serving $10 dishes for $30, Franca's gives you a $200 meal for two people for only $80.
Hard to find a negative. Wine lovers may not be all that thrilled but the house wines are solid enough and it's a small bone to pick.
Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back (if we can get a table!). 4/5.

50th Anniversary Dinner. Dinner party for 18, 4 course dinner absolutely superb! This night was made so special by Franca and Mario. The menu was fabulous: creamy polenta, wonderful handmade fusili, chicken marsala with eggplant parmigiana, topped off with the smoothest limoncello, a family recipe! Our family are longtime customers, and share this hidden gem with everyone we know.
Best Kept Secret in the City. To say the food and coffee was good would be an understatement! Franca's offers a variety of deleicous lunch items and is now open for dinner on Saturdays. With a menu full of authentic italian items, I promise you will not be dissapointed at Franca's.
Fantastic service and authenticity! Franca's mimics the laid back cafe's of Europe, and the food here gives those from the homeland a run for their money. Must visit!

I attended a cooking class last night at Franca's and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The format was varied from the usual approach to teaching cooking and the food we did eat was superb. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. It was definitely something I want to do again.
Authentic & Unique. The best authentic Italian food in the City! I too, was at the 5 course Valentine's Day dinner, and my wife & I found it extremely tasty, and outstanding! I am planning to return with my daughters, so they too can experience the tasty, authentic Italian food and superb service and ambiance! Bravo! It's about time Calgary had an amazing place like this!
Justsuperb just went last night for the 5 course Valentine's dinner last night. Every single course was fantastic and Franca and Mario were the usual warm, gracious hosts. This place is amazing . Food is to die for.
