This is our absolute favourite place to eat. The staff always remember my toddler, who loves to greet them back when they greet you upon entering. Everything is always delicious (even both of my kids will eat!) and the staff is wonderful. We come back again and again and we always will!
Best place for sushi reasonable price and good service no complains at all you have to love dat sushi place
Never had better Salmon Sashimi. The prices are not cheap but not expensive. This is the only place in Calgary I trust Sashimi. I can't wait to try it all. One day, the Bluefin Tuna when I'm feeling rich. I love the Tobiko, perfect flavor and pop. The music is just a little too loud but that means nothing when you can enjoy such a delicious meal. Love it!
I’m a sushi lover/guru, and I must say. I’ve been to pretty much every sushi house in Calgary and Edmonton! I give Kinjo Sushi 5 BIG STARS! Everything about them is amazing. From the service they provide, to the nice thick slices of sashimi 🍣 you receive is top notch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️If your a sushi lover, it’s more than worth the trip!!! #kinjosushi #sushilovers #michaelgleaves
It's always hard to find a good sushi place when you don't live on the west/east coast. However, Kinjo Dalhousie was pretty spot on when it came to both food and service. The atmosphere of the place was great, everything was clean and well set up. The service was wonderful - the staff patient, observant, friendly, and accommodating. The food was well-presented and above all - delicious. Overall, it was one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to. Definitely going back!
Absolutely great sushi amazing place to visit my favourite restaurant will come back
Food and service is amazing!! Aldrian was great! Highly recommend!!
Came in tonight for the first time! Food was great, extremely fast, and delicious. As soon as we sat down we were brought samples of four different types of sushi, which made ordering much easier as the menu is huge! We will be back 🍣🍺
Fantastic food and service. He restaurant is huge and nicely decorated. I will be back!!

Absolutely great sushi and sashimi every time we visit. This has become our go to place, hands down!
Our favourite place for Japanese food and excellent service! The Pocky is just an added bonus
We go 2 or 3 times a month.... Love it every time... J J is our Favourite server we've never been disappointed
Been coming to Kinjo for more than a couple years now. Love the Chicken Teriyaki here and Cali Rolls and my Personal Favourite is and will always be The Benihana Roll! It's a burst of flavours as soon as you eat it and is an absolute delight.
As someone that doesn’t eat fish or seafood, kinjo is a good place for me to go as they have a decent amount of options for me to choose from. I have no bad things to say about kinjo as the food is always really good, service is great, and price is not bad. Kinjo is the only place I go to for Japanese food.
One, if not, the best sushi restaurant I’ve been to in Calgary. I’ve been here on more than several occasions. I frequent here at least once a month and they never disappoint.
The food is delicious.
-The sashimi is always cold and never “strings” apart when biting into it.
-The rolls are neatly and tightly packed.
-Tempura is crispy and doesn’t have much oil.
-Chicken karaage has a light crisp on the outside and soft on the inside (and they provide more than enough spicy mayo with it!)
-Veggies like the string beans are perfectly cooked.
-Sashimi tataki has the perfect amount of sauce and topped with small pieces of roasted garlic.
...There are too many dishes to name. I’ve tried most of them.
Service is friendly and perfect. The dishes are quickly cleared when finished. There are almost no situations where you don’t see a smile on the server’s face. Definitely set the bar for how other restaurants should give service. 7/5 for service.
Decor is very modern. The restaurant is clean...always! That includes the bathrooms too.
Visit here for your sushi fix, you won’t be disappointed!
I loved the food at kinjo. Amazing fresh sushi and service goes above and beyond. They are my favourite sushi branch. they even give away free pocky. I don't know why this kinjo has a lower rating. Its also less busy than the others which is a bonus when u want a quieter dinning experience.
Fresh fast food, great service and very kid friendly.
Bring fruit sculpture for kids, give pocky sticks and have nice clean change tables in both women and men's washroom's 🙌
It was pretty exciting eating at kinjo today. The blue fin tuna cutting was very interesting to see. I've yet to eat their prime cut, today's bid was 80 and last weeks was 40. Over all great atmosphere good food and well trained servers. The blue fin tuna was really fresh and a great eating experience.
Beautiful, open interior with plenty of seating. This is not the stop for you if you want high quality, authentic sushi. It's fast and cheap. We started with tempura and fried squid (not pictured.) The tempura was delicious. The ingredients were so fresh and the batter was very light and crisp. Squid was a bit over done as it was very chewy. The sashimi was pretty good. Not very fishy, and cut into generous slices. The Benihana roll was alright. Too much sriracha, IT over powered the entire roll. The hot beef roll (again, not pictured sorry!) was kind of weird. The flavour was there, paired well with the sauce they provide. But the texture was kind of off... I don't know how to explain it. Thin slices of beef loosely packed into a dense roll of rice. Overall good experience. Service was great. Definitely a place to go when you have a sushi craving but don't want to spend lots of money!
Kinjo as a brand is always pretty consistent and I have never been to this new location so it was a good idea to pop in and check it out. The facility is huge with a very large modern "cafeteria" feel. They have interesting artwork on the walls and it is well lit. This is a nice departure from their Mcleod trail location that is tight and always packed with people.
The food was pretty good and as I would come to expect from Kinjo as a brand and from sushi in general. We devoured the food as it came as we were starving, and the service was nice and fast.
I have been here before and I must say that the quality of the fish is higher than most places here in Calgary. I was surprised to hear some of the reviews say it was tough. Me and my gf loved the sashimi tonight. Although I feel that some of their locations have lost that "touch" that made it so unique. Its one of the better choices in Calgary.
I appreciate the variance in the selection of the seafood. The fact they had a blue fin special was rather unique. Although sadly they were sold out. So I will have to be back for this special.
I do feel that the price is appropriate for the menu. The new soy wraps, well new to me, was impressive. Nonetheless I was satisfied. The favourites were the long bean, the cod, hamachi and the tuna sashimi for me. My gf liked the toro sashimi, seared tuna sushi and the salmon cone the best.
Although confusing at first for who was serving us, our waitress was friendly and didn't judge us for the large order for 2. But I eat alot and am used to the bulging eyes when we are done ordering. Although the toro was not my choice, I was surprised I has never had it before. Sashimi is my favourite so having a larger choice was appealing to me. Was not completely a fan of the Kim chi Sashimi, felt it was over seasoned.
I was a bit confused with the decor... Maybe an explanation was in order of what they were going for? But one of the larger locations I think, was bright inside and inviting. Of course the night end with green tea pockey - their signature in my opinion. :)
I have been here a few times since their grand opening. The restaurant is huge and clean, nice decorations and paintings all around, especially upstairs where the washrooms are. Service is very fast and friendly. Sushi is okay but not the best, which reflects on the affordable price.
What can I say when I found out Kinjo opened not 2mins from my house I was overjoyed!!! I love their Dalhousie location so I was super excited to try out the new location in my neighbourhood.
My husband and I dined here last night and from the moment you walk in the doors it's the most inviting atmosphere. We where greeted right away and seated, and she explained the drink menu to us and that this location has their largest selection of drinks.
The décor is very vibrant and inviting, lots of tables and lots of staff who are very quick to ensure you are enjoying yourself. The kitchen is amazing, I had a view and counted 14 chefs and I love that I can watch them create their masterpieces. The food was amazing and we had three plates on our table minutes after placing or order. So quickly in fact that I had to check to make sure it was ours!!!! The fish is fresh and nice large pieces. I love the fact they have regular and sweet soy sauce!! Their menu is nice a colourful with vibrant pictures.
Very happy to see the pocky guy!!! Such a treat to end a great meal!!!
It was not too overly busy but it is a new location and was a Thursday evening.
I have a copy of their take out menu at home and I call and go pick up my sushi when I have a craving!!!
Thank you Kinjo, you made my day!!! This is the only place I will go for my sushi from now on!
Checked out the new location and wow it’s huge! Very nice and modern inside, with paintings and tv’s around. Wish it had the dragon boat like the location on Mcleod but that’s alright. Ordered sushi rolls and chicken teriyaki with rice, they never disappoint. We treated ourselves to the lobster roll, since it is expensive. First time ordering it and I really enjoyed it. Would recommend this place!

My first Kinjo experience was at the newly opened Harvest Hills location. This place is absolutely humongous and perhaps lacks the privacy of other popular sushi restaurants. As such, it is probably not ideal for a romantic date, but great for a night out with your friends in a unique setting (but seriously, does the owner have an obsession with Van Gogh or something?) The food was equally interesting. It may not have been the best sushi I ever had, but the variety of choice is quite noteworthy and the sushi was flavourful and tasted fresh. I also very much appreciated the availability of smaller portions, giving customers the ability to try and taste more menu options. Overall, Kinjo delivers a great dining experience and I will certainly return in the future.
Very large restaurant, service is always great! They always give out pockys and I love to order the lobster roll. A little pricy but the lobster is huge compared to other sushi restaurants. Definitely recommended!
Huge place, very busy. Liked the size of the rolls and the portions were decent. We had more of a variety and didn't over order. Staff was very friendly. And the speed of the service was good.
I came here tonight with a girlfriend to check out their new location after having great experiences in Dalhousie. The decor is beautiful, as the building is brand new, and the staff were friendly and attentive. With that said, the quality of the food at this location was is much lower than others. The nori wrap on the nigiri and the small rolls was very fishy and almost gritty. Definitely a different brand or quality used from the other kinjo restaurants. A few of the rolls we ordered were soggy and tasted like they had been refrigerated for a few hours. Not good. Especially when you're expecting the tempura rolls to be crisp but instead were mushy. Really disappointing and unappetizing.
Don't think I'll be back.
* came back dec 2017 and had a much better experience. Arrived at 8pm in a Sunday and the food and service was fast, fresh and delicious. The nigiri and sashimi were especially good.
Absolutely love the newly opened location, the service you will receive here is amazing. Make you feel at home, and extremely friendly. And the great kinjo menu as always. Love coming here casually or even for special occasions.
This new location has really nice decorations and the sushi and sashimi is just as good as the other Kinjo restaurants in the city. I absolutely love the special TATAKI and mango roll. The free Pocky is always nice.
This location MIGHT be better than Dalhousie, which is awesome! We recently moved near here and were delighted to see that a Kinjo was opening. And having gone there now, we were not disappointed! The service was exceptional. Our server noticed that my husband's Coke was a weird color and brought a new one without being asked, and when we informed him of my avocado sensitivity, he made sure to tell us that the equipment used for California rolls had touched avocado even if we asked for none - that's excellent service if you ask me! Food and atmosphere were great too, of course.
Excellent food and service!! Peter, the owner is there and hands out pocky to all of the guests. Very bright and clean. Sushi was amazing, great menu.
The sashimi and rolls are fresh and good tasting. The rolls are a little small though, niguri is a good size.
We ordered take out; they organized the rolls, hot food, and soup really neatly. I definitely will come back.
Good selection of sushi and sashimi. Big menu with something for everyone. We had the lobster rolls, salmon sashimi and chicken udon soup, for dessert green tea ice cream. The lobster rolls were delicious, the salmon sashimi was good but a little tough. The udon soup is the perfect serving size. It's not like the ones that are way too big and can never finish. The location is new and the restaurant is big and clean. I like it. Would return for sure. Especially since the prices are real fair and not at all over priced.
I normally commute via Country Hills Blvd and I noticed that this location was newly opened so even though I went to other Kinjo locations many times but I thought I would try here as well. This location is huge! The decor is amazing and they have lots of Van Gogh paintings side by side on one wall. Peter the owner was there and he was amazing and definitely made our day with great service & complementary dish. We tried Kinjo's typical rolls and sushi and they were fairly consistent with other locations. Not the best sushi in town but we left with a big smile and will come back again.
