This is one of the only Asian restaurants with good service, and they have great food.
The food is amazing , very quick service , friendly environment , I'll definitely be back
Loved it. The restaurant is a tad small however and I would recommend making reservations. We went as a party of seven and all ordered a dish. Everything was very good. We did find that their spice scale was a tad optimistic. Menu items are identified for spiciness by 0, 1, 2 or 3 peppers. Nothing seemed as spicy as we would have preferred. I still rate it highly and will go back but will order more 2's and 3's on the spice scale. The service, presentation and flavor pulled the Chili Club Thai House over the top.
Thai food is probably some of my favorite of all the various cuisines.
This place is definitely a tasty treat when I am craving good thai. I am kind of curious about this white elephant place though that was mentioned in the comments... Anyone have experience with that place or was someone just trying to plug their restaurant?
Pretty good, but definitely not White Elephant. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and very cosy, and service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly (and very helpful and accommodating when we had questions about dietary restrictions for someone in our party). To start we tried the Poh Pai Tod ($8.00 for 4 spring rolls). Nicely crisp and with a well seasoned filling, these were really good. For our main dishes we had the Musamun Beef Curry ($18), Kaeng Kheir Wan Gau Tua ($16), Phad Bai Ka Prao Nua ($16), and Pad Thai Jay ($14). The Musaman had really nice pieces of piece, but was not as flavourful (and didn't have as many peanuts) as I was hoping. The Kaeng Kheir Wan Gau Tua was a pretty average green curry and didn't have a ton of depth of flavour, but again the chicken was really tender. The Phad Bai Ka Prao Nua was filled with an assortment of mushrooms, and the whole dish was covered in a tasty sauce rich with umami. The Pad Thai was almost cloyingly sweet and just really wasn't very exciting. The coconut rice was decidedly uncoconut-y, which was disappointing. Decently prepared food, but the next time I'm in the mood for Thai I'll definitely be heading elsewhere.
The food is decent. Flavors are average and quantity average. The crying tiger steak dish is quite good. One of my favorites of this place. The curry was okay I've had better elsewhere and portion was sub average. We had pad Thai as well and it was alright nothing special. Overall an. Average place with slightly more than average prices. I'd prefer the other Thai places near it
Excellent Thai!!! This is great that food for those who like authentic, and for those who are not experienced with Thai. Everyone will find something they like.
Make sure you make reservations before cuz restaurant is not that big and they have limited seating and it's always busy when we are here. My go to dish is the duck curry, i get it everytime :) they give you complimentary coconut ice cream at the end to cleanse your palette.
I lived in Thailand for some time, and this place is legit! I wish there were more restaurants like this! The flavours and textures all work wonderfully together, and there is such a great selection of dishes. When they say spicy, they mean it! It probably doesn't have to cost this much though, but that's Calgary for ya...
Always satisfied. Portions are perfect for sharing and a fun way to try different dishes. Ambience is very chill, lighting may be too dark at times.
Just move here off 17ave and noticed Chilli Club Thai house is my neighbour. I didn't feel like cooking so I ordered take out from here. I got the panang duck and the pad Thai. Both were pretty good. Not as good as I thought though. I think the combination of the amazing ratings and my inexperience in Thai food is clouding my opinion. I'm going to give it a few more chances because I want to see what the hype is and well I live right next to it.
So yummy!!! My favourites are the chicken on spinach, pad Thai and green chicken curry! I never eat in the restaurant so I can't comment about the service but I'm always happy when I get this for supper. One reason they aren't getting a 5 rating is because it is pretty overpriced and I don't get it as often because of it!
BEST THAI IN CALGARY! Where do I begin? This little nook is a beautiful place with friendly staff and great service! But the FOOD was the best part! Spring Rolls were crispy and fresh, Chicken/Shrimp Pad Thai was the best I've ever tasted, and the Chicken Curry Dish was absolutely amazing on a bed of Coconut Rice! Our meal even came with complimentary coconut ice cream at the end :) we will 100% be back! I recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food! You won't be disappointed!
This is my favourite Thai restaurant in the whole city. I must eat here at least twice a week. I could eat 3 orders of the stuffed chicken wings to myself. They are very accommodating (we have a young baby) and the staff are very nice and are always checking up on you to make sure you're enjoying your meal. I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Thai food.
Finally tried this place!!
Since I only experienced Thai food at food court, I wanted to experience more serious quality.
My plan was visiting "White elephant" in NE but decided to try this place first as take-out.
We ordered Beef Curry, Pad Thai and, Shirimp/Chicken Spring roll. First of all, Pad thai was a big portion. I don't think it is for a individual. Taste wasn't bad. Since I ordered Mild spicy, it was pretty much flavorless.
My surprise was Beef Curry that my husband ordered! I never had Thai curry.
This was my first try and it was damn good! There was so many beef/potato chunks inside of soup.
But I found it's quite pricy dish. This Curry doesn't come with Rice. You have to order a rice separetely which is 1.75. Curry is 17.00 by itself.
But since the quality of food is very high, I didn't have a regret for having them.
One thing they missed, I ordered Shirimp & Chicken Spring roll but when I bited one of them, it was vegeterian roll. I was a little disappointed on it.
Overall, Clean and delicious food.
But a little pricy.
Best Thai food in Calgary!!!
Location: West end of 17th ave, free parking, Great place with easy access via a short drive no matter which part of the city you live in
Ambiance: Nice and relaxed
Service: Friendly staff
Food Quality: Excellent
Food Quantity: Below average
Restrooms: Clean
Value for Money (VFM): 8/10
(depends on what you order)
Overall Experience: Not your typical Thai place... think its Thai fusion. Very tasty food, try the crying tiger! (will be the best 20$ you've spent on food). Could say Chili club is to Thai food what The Himalayan is to Indian/Nepalese.
BOOM. Panang duck!. Amazing food, great service. Even helped my brother out by bringing him cucumber while he was dying of a spicy attack. Didn't know cucumber helped! Dinner and a show (brother basically crying) plus knowledge. A+ would come again.
Delicious. Food is great, small cozy place, my favorite in Calgary. Hardly recommended :)
Soooo good! Coconut rice, yellow curry and my fave...pad Thai! Delish! Small restaurant and hit or miss service but the food is amazing and keeps people coming back.
Sensational. Having eaten at the Chili Club Thai House before, I knew it was good. So when we ate there recently, we made sure to order a variety of items to truly experience the menu and see just how good it was. For our dinner we got the Shrimp Cakes ($12.50), Prawn Rolls ($12.50), Beef & Broccoli ($15), Cashew Chicken ($15), Egg Noodles ($15), Phuket Seafood ($23) and Vegetable Fried Rice ($13). Did I mention there was only two of us! Each dish was jam-packed with flavor and each had its own unique spice, heat and taste. I truly believe they don't had a bad dish on the menu. The service was great and the décor is beautiful. I recommend making a reservation as this is a tiny restaurant and it fills up quickly.
Reasonable. It was a really small restaurant so it was a bit crowded. Food was decent. We had halibut, 2 shrimp dishes, fried rice and stuff boneless chicken wings. We liked our food very spicy and the chef was willing to spice them up a few notches. Overall, I enjoyed the experience.
Chili Club Thai House SW. I finally tried this Thai restaurant, original Chili Club Thai House in SW after I went to the NW location by mistake 2 weeks prior to this visit.
My friends and I ordered a papaya salad, salad kak, green curry and pad thai. I loved the green curry and probably the best green curry in the city. I had better pad thai somewhere else but it is my personal dispreference of their source; it tasted almost like ketchup (not meant to offend in any means). Salad kak was not as great as I was hoping for but I did enjoy papaya salad very much. Finally, we finished our dinner with complimentary mango ice cream, yummy!
Overall food and service are top notch, and they have good wine selection. The decor is good too. I like the cozy and intimate atmosphere. I will definitely go back there again!
Best Thai in Calgary. Simply the best Thai in town. Spring rolls, yellow chicken curry, rice and pad thai; the perfect meal at Chilli Club. Plus you get some bonus coconut ice cream at the end! Such a great restaurant, give it a try.
Best Thai food. Love the food here. Authentic Thai and soooo delicious!
Truly Good Thai Food. I really like this place. I've been here several times and virtually everything has been exceptionally good. IMO, this is the best Thai in Calgary. Nice ambience. Excellent service whenever I've been here. It's my GO-TO Thai place.
Best in Town. I love thailand and I love thai food. Chili Club and White Elephant are the ONLY authentic tasting Thai restaurants in town. No dumbed down spices, no Ketsupy Pad Thai...just real flavors, sometimes searingly so. Thai chilis are predominant in a few dishes-try the evil jungle vegetables if you dare. Coconut shrimp, basil beef and green curry chicken are my faves. The asparagus is also complex and delightful...but with a kick! If you like Thai food in Thailand then you will love this place.
Great food for those that crave Thai. Limited seating, so I would suggest one reserves ahead. Take out is also available.
So bomb. I can't wait to go back! best thai food ever!
4 1/2 out of 5. Best thai restaurant in town by far! Check out the varsity location if you are going to eat in. The one on 17th is a little tight
The Best. No matter how many times I've been persuaded to try a different Thai restaurant (due to price, distance, etc.), I've regretted it & wished I had stuck with Chili Club (I've only been to this location.)
I've tried many other Thai places in Calgary & honestly feel none even come close. The extra $ is worth it; the quality & flavours are outstanding and I crave it constantly. Very small inside & almost always busy.....staff friendly but a little harried at times.
One of the Best. This is easily one of the Best Thai restaurant's in Calgary, Small and cozy, authenic and reasonably priced. Definately worth the drive.
Order anything off the menu and it's going to be delicious. Fresh, expertly prepared ingredients with complexity in flavor like nowhere else. The prawn salad rolls are not to be missed served with a giant, perfectly cooked prawn and julienned bell pepper. The Chicken mushroom soup has a silky, creamy broth with hints of coconut and kaffir lime. The crying tiger beef, even though it is one of the spiciest items on the menu, is a perfectly mid-rare skirt steak marinated in Thai chillies, ginger and soy sauce is one of my favorites. It's served with fresh cucumbers which is the perfect accompaniment for flavor and to battle the heat. And the coconut ice cream at the end of the meal is always amazing!!
I've travelled Thailand and the curries are the "white person" version. You will not find McCain potato wedges in your curry anywhere in that country.
However their stir fries are good, service and ambiance is excellent.
This place is awesome!. Great food and great flavors, highly recommended!
Best Food in town !!. Once I entered the restaurant, I forgot about it being in the basement of the strip mall plaza. It was simply decorated and dimly lit for a nice atmosphere. One notable difference is that I heard no typical elevator asian music.
Started with the fish cakes and they were about as good as I imagine they might be. For the main course I had beef massumun curry, and ginger chicken with asparagus. The curry was fantastic! No pieces of fat, and just a delicious overall flavour. This dish was rated 2 out of 3 chili's for heat but for me I think I'll have to go 3 next time. The ginger chicken with asparagus was a real treat and reminded me of a more authentic Thai dish (from my travels).
So great food and a decent environment and I will go again for sure. The prices are a little more than a few other Thai restaurants I know but not by a lot. The quality of the food justifies it though.
Yummy!. Love this place! The Swimming Rama is sooo good!
Really Good. Great food, and portion sizes. Will go back for sure
Amazing!. If you do not like the food here you do not like or know what amazing food is.
This is probably the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Just incredible.
The prices are probably a few dollars more per dish than other places around town, but you are paying for high quality food. The food is very clean and doesn't have any greasiness to it. I don't mind paying a little extra if it is reflected in the food and Chili Club Thai House delivered.
The complimentary almond icecream for dessert is delicious!
I hope they keep this up.
I will be back to try other items on the menu in not long. Also probably not a bad idea to phone and make a reservation because it gets busy. Places that get busy get busy for a reason. Because they are the best.
Service was also fantastic. Very polite staff who work hard. Food came out quick for how busy it was (full house).
Delicious. I've been going here for years and I have not been disappointed once. Making a reservation is always a good idea, and the intimate location paired with good service and delicious food makes it fun to eat at! The portions are a bit larger when you order takeout, but are by no means skimpy when eating in. I'd recommend this gem to anyone!
Hands down the best Thai food in the city! I have never had a bad experience! The food is absolutely incredible. A great place for take out as well!
Great food, but small portions and a bit pricey, should offer discount for pick up
Great restaurant, we eat take out from there at least once a a month and they never disappoint. I have recommended to friends and I always got positive feedback.

+4.5
All time FAVE!!. I have been here numerous times and its my favourite restaurant in the whole city!! Love the pad Thai and the chili club veg curry and the coconut spring rolls!! Service is attentive and they never disappoint! Doesn't look like much from outside but nicely decorated inside and nice decor.
Scrum - taculous !. Went to Chili Club for dinner on a Thurs., around 5:40 pm. We made reservations, but it wasn't necessary as the restaurant wasn't busy. During the time we were there it was just us and another table, but I did notice a fair amount of to- go items.
Wasn't until 6:30 pm when few more tables were taken.
Inside it is quite cozy, the place isn't that big and it is in a rather non - assuming apartment (?) building. Parking directly in front of the restaurant is very limited. We parked about a block away and just walked, it was easier that way. Place was clean, including the washrooms.
Service was good, our waitress was attentive and friendly. However, I noticed there was a waiter there and he seemed more interested in flirting with a kitchen staff member than serving his table (lucky we didn't get him as our waiter).
We ordered :
#18 chicken curry, came with cauliflower, carrots
#24 black pepper beef, with zucchini, mushrooms, and onions
#38 lemon pepper vegetables, with snow peas, cauliflower, and broccoli
#48 tamarind prawns, with cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli
#57 coconut rice.
I found most of the dishes to be absolutely delicious. My least favourite was #38, due mainly because I only tasted 'sourness' rather than lemon. My 2 favourite dishes were #18 and #24. Both had good heat, and the curry was super delicious, had a hint of coconut, good curry taste, and the heat was perfect.
Note, the dishes we did order were either no peppers (mild) or one pepper (slightly hot).
The veggies were cooked beautifully, al dente. The black pepper beef had a nice 'smoky' flavour to it, which I really liked.
The coconut rice was scrumptious. Wasn't clumpy or sticky I really enjoyed the hint of coconut in each bite.
The shrimp was a tad overcooked, on the other hand, the chicken was moist and tender.
At the end of the meal, to help douse some of the heat, they provided a nice dessert, a small scoop of wonderful coconut ice cream with strawberries, kiwi, and mandarin orange. The ice cream was loaded with coconut bits.
Price wise, yeah it is a tad pricey, for both of us the meal cost over $70 with tip, but I felt the quality of the food, the heavenly curry coconut sauce, was well worth the price of admission. Plus we had some leftover, so they packed it all up for us plus a small container of rice.
My only complaint is their choice of music. I would have rather had them play some Thai music to really give diners an escape from the bustle of 17th Ave SW, instead we were treated to Janie's Got a Gun - Aerosmith, doesn't quite set the right ambience in a Thai restaurant.
Great Thai takeout. Have never eaten in, but as takeout can't be beat. Love the hot and sour soup, crying tiger beef, pad thai. Don't find the prices too high for the portion sizes.
Fav Thai in Canada. Not sure why everyone comments on this being higher priced, I think its average pricing. The food is great, authentic and fresh. I have to go here for dinner every time Im in Calgary. Only criticism would be the service, because they're always super busy the service seems to lack- however the food will make you forget about it!
Did the take-out. This place is fabulous! Food is fresh and great portions. The veggie spring rolls are a must! Try it you will be very happy!
Ah my first taste at a top spot in calgary, whadda ya got for me? Well seeing as one of the girls in our pose is a vegan and loves thai food i decided to take us here. Service moved at a snails pace but appeared at appropriate intervals. As the vegan outcast and her bf order me and my wife dive into the menu. We start with the spring rolls, 2 veggies and 2 chicken shrimp rolls, the peanut sauce was amazing. The "khung thord kra thiam prik thai" which was essentially super jumbo prawns in some kind of chili like sauce served with an assortment of peppers. Well the prawns were amazing and even better in the peanut sauce! Mix that in with coconut rice and get some yum bites. Pad thai was good but becomes too sauceless as it cools down. We were also served a complimentary dessert, coconut ice cream with a chopped strawberry, kiwi, and some blueberries. All in all a fairly solid meal at a slightly above average price point. However i believe the reviewers when they say there is better out there.
Excellent thai food. I love this place. I am too wimpy for the crying tiger though! You have to have a tongue of steel to eat this one. Try the stuffed chicken wings, they are absolutely amazing! Book your table early as it is very small inside and fills up quickly.
Awesome food!. The food was incredible! I had the Coconut Chicken soup and Lemon Pepper Vegetable curry and was surprised at how flavourful they both were. My fiancé had the cashew pineapple chicken which was also fantastic. I will be back and highly recommend this place.
I come back regularly. I agree with most of the reviews, namely the food is great despite the portions being small. It'd be nice if the portion sizes could be upped a tad for the price charged (would it hurt just to add a little more, c'mon guys don't be so chinzty !). Otherwise I always come back for the great food !
Small portions but if you order vegetarian noodles - you will be satisfied. Huge portion and so delicious. This location is much better than Dalhousie. I will be back for more noodles.
A Good Resturant. I live very close to this restaurant and have been meaning to try it. The food was tasty, and filling. The meals are well portioned, as anything larger then this is too much, and it would be wise for people to use this as a portion size for eating more often, it would lead to lower obesity rates. Even though the portions seem small to many people, even me (And I do tend to eat larger portions then are recommended), and I can eat a lot, they are filling dishes. Anyone who eats this and is still extremely hungry, I would suggest looking in the mirror. The service is good, and the place can get busy. I went in and although many tables were empty, I had to wait a short time because those tables are reserved, and this is generally the case, however, wait times are not incredibly long, and if they are a little longer then you like, then be patient, sometimes its worth sitting down and waiting and relaxing, rather then getting uptight. Also, if you wait, the food tastes that much better. I went with my wife and 3 kids and the whole family enjoyed it.
Expensive but good food. Small portions, expensive, but good Thai food. I dare to say it is the best I've tasted in Calgary. For the price, they do give good quality food. Love their Tom Yom Gon and beef curry. Pat Thai has nice balance of sweet and sour taste and the rice noddle is not wet. Very tasty and pretty good service. Until I go back to Thailand, I will keep going to CCT to tie me over for Thai food.
Great food. At first I was concerned when my food was placed in front of me as the dish appeared miniscule. I usually don't mind small orders, but when your stomach is growling and you pay $15 you typically expect to get more than a tiny bowl that looks like 3 spoonfuls of food. What surprised me was that after a full plate, I still had more than half of my original bowl left. Ah ha, deceived by the bowl (an embarrassing but happy realization)! I had the Gai Phad Tua (Thai spiced ginger chicken with asparagus) and it was delicious. I will gladly return and fork out the $15 for this endless bowl of delight.
So Yummy. The food here is high quality. Actual Thai food in a great little package of yum!
I had been craving Thai food for a long time, and this hit the spot. Everything was well made and just done amazingly.
The kicker is that for the prices, you don't get a lot of food. Think cup sized, not bowl sized.
However the food is that good, I'd be willing to splurge to go to this place.
Average experience for me.
Best thai in calgary!. I've been going to the downtown location for like 10 years? (sorry my memory is not the best in my old age :P) did they have a restaurant down on 16th ave long ago? anyways... this is my favorite thai place... i read some of the reviews on the portions size and too strong of taste... well, the best meal i had in thailand, it was a big bowl of coconut rice, with 5 small dishes... when i say small, think the little soy sauce dish you get at japanese :D (ok i also had a bowl of soup and some pickles but let's move on lol)
what i love about chili club is that they get the meat to sauce ratio perfect - to eat with rice, which is the norm for all asian cultures, the rice is your main, the curry is just the seasoning... too many places give you a big plate full of sauce, sure it looks bigger and you have more sauce to drink with your rice but really it's just more water, water is cheap (wait, free!) chili club is intense, no watered down sauce, spoon it over your rice and mix well :D
oh don't forget the awesome free dessert, that coconut ice cream is to die for :D (they even gave me 2 of them when i went there pregnant!)
So good. I love all that 17th Avenue has to offer. Thai house is one of my favs. The bubble tea is the best in Calgary. The soups are perfect. Just can't beat Thai House.
Lovely. Keep coming back to this place....can't recall how many times we've been here but have never been disappointed. Seems everytime I go I bring along a new recruit and they leave thrilled with the food and service.
Highly recommened. Reservations are a must. Love it!
Excellent. Loved Chili Club Thai House! We had a reservation and were seated on time, the decor is beautiful and soothing. Service was terrific and the food was delicious! We will definitely go back!
Amazing!. This is one of my favourite restaurants to go to. The food is always consistantly great! It is always hot and fresh and has great flavor. The restaurant itself is tiny so I always make sure to make a reservation, otherwise it can be tricky to get in sometimes. The staff is amazing! They are very friendly and are always attentive. I ordered my food out one day and came to pick it up, but one of the dishes was still cooking. The guy at the front desk apologized and asked if I wanted to have a seat while I waited. He also offered me a glass of water which was a suprising but very nice gesture! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to be guaranteed to have an amazing meal and experience!!
Great!. I love the Chili Club. The service is always great, and the food is excellent. I love their pad thai, it is definitely my favorite! I really miss not living near this great restaurant anymore. If you want a great restaurant with great food and service, I definitely recommend Chili Club.
A great experience.. As an Urbanspoon App find, we weren't sure what to expect when we arrived at this restaurant. However, this gem of a Thai restaurant was pleasant from start to finish. All dishes were hot, fresh, and delicious, accompanied by friendly and attentive service. The décor is exotic and unique. My wife and I are both looking forward to our next dining experience here.
Good food but very pricey, portions are small
This has been my favorite restaurant for years. Portion sizes are small and wine selection is limited, but you get what you pay for. Best thai in town, by far!!
This is by far the most delicious Thai restaurant in town. Try the coconut spring rolls, and be sure to make a reservation.
Best Thai In Town, Hands Down!. I've tried them all (I may have a slight addition to Tom Kai-Coconut soup), and Chili Club is by far the best. In Calgary, all of the prices are within the same 12-20 dollar range per entree for Thai food... but the Thai Club's prices are actually less than Thai Sa-On and Rose Garden. Not to mention that their curries are delicious and packed with fresh ingredients and not watered down like Thai Sa-On's.
Their decor is a lot more refined as well, and you're not at any risk of being kicked out for accidentally bumping into one of the thousand statues in the other Thai places.
Of course I recommend the Coconut Soup, you can even get it made vegetarian if you're like me. I also strongly recommend a reservation, there has only been one time where i've actually gotten a walk in table. Not that I'm complaining, I mean they are a very small, yet very popular restaurant.
Good Eating!
You get dessert. This place is great, the food is really tasty and the service good. You feel really comfortable while getting a great meal. The best part too is that when you eat in you get a small bowl of ice cream for dessert which is a perfect way to end the meal
Friday Night Dinners - Chili Club (17 Ave SW). Thai food -- there's lots of it, but a fair bit of it isn't done well. There are some good places, you just need to do a little digging. For this one though, this one came to me from the word of a fellow foodie, and with that, I hopped onto my trusty longboard and met up with fellow Urbanspooner V York and checked out Chili Club.
The traffic in the area is a bit of a mess (due to West LRT construction), but upon arrival I was greeted and seated immediately, and was offered drinks while the menus were already on the table. Once V arrived, we got to the menu, and decided on four items:
Sa-teh chicken skewers ($10) - perfectly grilled and tender to the max, and served with a wonderful peanut sauce that is arguably one of the best peanut sauces I've had in Calgary. Not too thick, not too thin; just right.
Salad Kak ($12) - with memories of an Indonesian gado-gado (without the prawn crisps), the dressing was light, and was a cool dish to match the fiery hot weather that reigned outside. The hard boiled egg was a bit overdone (had the grey ring around the yolk), but the dressing makes up for this.
Sya Rong Hai, a.k.a. Crying Tiger ($19): Beef steak, done medium-rare, in a spicy soy-based sauce. Nice and spicy, with the steak being tender. Could have been spicier for the 3-chili mark (would have been a bigger deal if the weather was colder, but not today) but it was good nevertheless.
Chu Chee Curry with Halibut ($25) - rich yellow curry bathing a tender halibut steak; sauce was wonderful with the rice, and the fish was cooked just right and was not overpowered by the curry sauce.
With the savoury dishes done, the waiter brought us dessert (coconut ice cream), which was wonderfully luscious with golden flecks of coconut inside. It wasn't too sweet, and was light enough after a good meal.
For two, the bill came to $90 (plus drinks and tip) , if you don't mind the traffic -- it's worth the journey up that 17th Avenue SW hill. Even if you do, the food alone should make it worth it!
