Tasty, fresh, affordable, friendly. I'll be back! Loved that they had low sodium soya sauce. Other guests were engaging in fun conversation with the gentleman server, they sounded like regulars who enjoy coming back for the food AND excellent service.

I have always really enjoyed the quality of sushi here. Tonight though I ordered sushi and had one salmon roe sushi. It was so bad I had to spit it out. Disappointing. Usually this place is pretty good. Hopefully I don't get sick from it tonight

Always really good and fresh sushi. I think they have one of the best mango rolls. Also their female dragon roll has this amazing smokey taste that you don't find at other places.

Always great quality food. I have been coming to this sushi place since I was 15. I’m 21 now and I have yet to taste a dish I didn’t like from Li Ao. The staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s always very clean inside and great to invite multiple friends to. The parking is good. My favourite dishes are the salmon sashimi, the takoyaki, the yam tempura special, and the cheesy crab bombs. Highly recommend to those interested to check this place out!

Sushi was OK. Nothing impressive, but not bad. The ramen was very bland and incredibly disappointing. We ordered spicy and it tasted like water.

One of the best sushi places in the City. These guys do an excellent job at ensuring only quality hits your plate. Never had a bad experience and food always arrives quickly even when they are busy. They also make a really good bowl of Ramen.

Its a great affordable place to go in the SW. The other sushi place 10mins away is good but they've been increasing their prices every year, that its $60 for a family of 4, two adults and a 3&4yr old. Here we can spend $40 and enjoy it just as much, with pretty much the same menu options. Plus the staff is fantastic too. Even if you don't live in the neighborhood, its worth the extra 10mins to go to Li-ao :-)

Love this place, tired numerous sushi restaurants in Calgary, nothing compares: large portions (even sashimi), inexpensive (for sushi), fresh, taste great, friendly service. I recommend trying again if u had a bad experiance both for pick up and eat in. I am lucky I live in bridlewood or I would drive a great distance for this place. I have had a few experiances that were not seller but I have with fine dining also. Give this place a try! Hope they dont change the high quality and complementary roll/dumpling provided almost every time we have ordered.

My boyfriend and I are huge sushi lovers and every time we go out, we try somewhere new. When we travel, we always make sure we stop at sushi restaurants. We live in the SW and decided to try out the Bridlewood location as it’s right close to our house. Upon arriving, the atmosphere is really nice, it’s clean, and the service is good. We were however disappointed with the quality of food, probably one of the worst we’ve tried. My boyfriend also found a fish bone in his spicy salmon roll. Unfortunately the price is basically as high as everywhere else, so for the same price we could go somewhere with much better quality food. Unfortunately because of the food quality we won’t be back.

I ordered some sushi and rolls basically.
So I ordered a tamago (egg) sushi on the menu, but the waiter brought out a smoked salmon sushi. And it was the waiter mistake to read the menu.
Then the worst part came!!
The chef just take away the smoked salmon on top of the rice REPLACE a egg on top of the rice OMFG !!! And I can even still smell the salmon in the rice !! Giving me a new rice is that much expensive ?? So respected !!
Moreover, the waiters didn't take away empty plates.
Worst service and disrespect to customers Japanese restaurant ever !!!
And thank you for ruined my anniversary day with my gf :)

There's the complimentarry appetizer to start off the dinner. Service was quick, and the staff friendly and attentive. The food were very tasty, and well presented. Prices were surprisingly lower than in similar establishments. The family is now planning for a second visit. Highly recommended.

The Nolan Hill location : great sushi restaurant near my house. I tried sushi once in Edmonton and didn't really like it. I decided to give sushi another try, and they didn't let me down at all; good size portion, fresh, and delicious! I will go back there for sure.

Moving from Vancouver I had my doubts we would find decent let alone great sushi in Calgary. But its not just about the food. This place goes above and beyond. We made a large order and it happened that one of our items was missed. I called the restaurant to let them know and instead of having us come back to pick it up they offered to deliver it right to our house. Mistakes happen its how we recover from our mistakes that counts. Their recovery was flawless.

We came as a party of 12 (5 kids and 7 adults)and the staff were very accommodating. After we were all seated, drinks had been served, and had submitted our order, they brought us 3 orders of complementary deep fried stuffed crab dumplings! DELICIOUS! And then our sushi orders came out soon afterward and we were served generous slices of sashimi and nigiri sushi. AMAZING! And to top it all off, at the end of our meal, the server came out and offered everyone at our table complementary boxes of Pocky sticks!! OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND QUALITY OF FOOD! We will definitely return soon.
