Joeys is probably my favorite place to grab a bite. Great food-never disappointed in that. Our servers are generally amazing,our last visit this past Friday was average. Food was great! Our first server was amazing the second one just made it seem like we were a "bother". She wasn't rude,but She was definitely not friendly either. It was a Friday night and we came for a late dinner and some drinks(8pm -1030) we weren't high maintenance but when she came around it would of been nice if she didn't seem like she hated her job. We all still loved our food and will be back but word of advice -don't make your customers feel like they're a burden. Regardless of your day/night/regular life .

This afternoon I sat for a wine at the bar, and the bartender Brittany was personable and made my visit to Calgary fantastic! And the manager on shift, Kayla I believe was enjoyable and present. I love the environment here and Highly recommend this place to anyone! Bravo! Will be back again soon! �
Service was great. Food was actually very very good. Excellent. And I say that because I ordered the "Protien Burger" thinking how good could a hamburger wrapped in a bunch of lettuce no bun taste? But I tried it. Unreal. could of eaten another. And the drinks on the patio in 24° weather. "Super Jack and Cokes with icebergs". Deadly

Great Joey's location with a beautiful patio. The service and food here has always been great. I really love the new Cobb salad and the sushi cones.
Joey's also has a good happy hour from 3:00-6:00
We came here on a Friday night 10 mins before happy hour which stops at 6pm. They have beef sliders on sale for $4.50 and sushi cones. I ordered beef sliders (juicy and good seasoning), the hot wings (average), and the prime sirloin with a side of salad (steak perfectly cooked to medium rare). Service here was good.

Not impressed.
Service was slow even though restaurant was not terribly busy. Waitress was terrible, bringing tepid water with no ice to the table, wtf? Waitress or kitchen not sure which, forgot the chicken breast we ordered for our children's portion of fettuccine alfredo. My wife ordered the "protein burger" which is supposed to come minus the bun. Which it didn't, and the waitress obviously has no idea why that item is on the menu. Most people ordering it are either on a gluten free, or low carb diet, my wife is low carb, but the waitress didn't explain or offer the alternate side dishes which would follow a low carb diet. Instead my wife was served a nice heap of French fries. Because the chicken had been forgotten on the kids meal they were hungry enough to eat the fries. However my wife left still hungry and very unsatisfied with a 56$ bill. Food portions were small for the cost, not to@ the mistakes, but otherwise very tasty. I have sent a review to the restaurant chain website, but after 4 days we have had no contact. I will never set foot in this restaurant again, I'm going down the street to a much better experience at Cactus Club on Barlow.

After speaking with the general manager of this location and receiving a 75$ gift card to give this location another try, I must ammend my first rating with a 95/100, obviously the first try was just a bad day. Great food great service! We will be back!
Joeys are Barlow trail for lunch today. The chicken was done pretty good and was juicy, greens low sodium and seasoning good. Only complaint is it isn't cheap at all. $22 for a quarter chicken.
There's only one reason to come here, all you can eat fish and chips on Tuesday. Going to say right now, I've been to the East Coast and this doesn't come close, by a long shot. But the quality is consistent, the fries are fresh and really quite good. And they let me split a plate with my kid, which is very generous and kind. I completely appreciate it.
Had a great time at Joey's the other night! Came in early while happy hour was still going on, which was great. The restaurant looks amazing with the new renovations! They even had a special 1999 pricing happy hour to celebrate the reopening - $2.75 drafts and $4 summer sangrias! We started with some sweat potato fries and a plate of crispy calamari. For mains my sister and I shared the filet mignon which they split for us, and the guys each had a burger. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine. The chef also gave us a great sample of their new steak, which was delicious!
Been coming here for YEARS, and they just reopened a few weeks ago after renos. The place looks much more open and contemporary now, kind of steampunk style. Food is always delicious and consistent, in love with their baha fish tacos, fully loaded crispy mashed potatoes, chicken fettuccine alfredo, sushi cones and hamburger sliders. They have a great deal for happy hour after their reopening as well! Service is good and the managers are friendly.
Great food! Yummy appetizers. They also serve some sushi and it was nice! We order the calamari and yum fries. Really tasty. The fish tacos 😋😋😋 price a little bit high but you get what you paid for.

I know this is a chain restaurant but it is really impressive! The Northeast location is my favourite Joey restaurant in the city. I ordered the Ahi Salad which was absolutely perfect!! Delicious fresh tuna, beautiful avocado, and lightly dressed. Yum!! 👌🏼 Not to mention the stunning presentation!
They do not have a children's menu but do offer some delicious options for the little ones (kids Mac & Cheese pictured below).

Came here for lunch today. Good thing we came early at 11 because by the time we left at 12:45 it was a full house! The lunch menu is similar to dinner. I had the lobster grilled cheese. Seems like a generous amount of lobster. My friend had the Bombay butter chicken and the sushi with steak. The sushi and steak looked awesome! I think I may try that next time. Our server, Jackie was great. She was attentive and on the ball even though the restaurant filled up. This location is probably one of the better ones, in my opinion.
Been here many many times in the last 15 years and I must say I've never been disappointed at Joey's. Still remember when it used to be called Joey tomatoes. Was here recently last Saturday night around 11 pm for late night drinks with two other friends . Loved the sangria and it was on a Saturday special so it only cost like $6 per sangria. The staff here is always courteous and its a great place for food, drinks or even if you just want to come for drinks and dessert late night, its a great place to be!

Been here a few times now, like the atmosphere, and the service was good. Only problems I had was that in the lounge there were a couple dirty tables from when we sat down to when we left and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. Also they undercooked my steak quite significantly! Other than that one experience the food has always been delicious!
Hey guys, hey ate here last week and what a sweet treat. Just like all savvy restraunt food eaters I headed straight for the back to check out the dumpsters. Everything seemed in order cause it smelled just like the best place in the city and man was I getting hungry so I snuck through the the kitchen as a short cut. I got the drink special which was totally awesome but just stopped at one cause I drive a sweet leased car (just over a year left on it). Had a fish burger cause the waitress said it was really good atmosphere seemed lesbian and straight friendly.

Good experience. I like the ambiance of this restaurant, the food is great without being too expensive. The staff is very friendly and does an excellent job. I've been to this location a lot, and the service has been consistently good.
Great food, Excellent service. I visited for a business dinner and found the service outstanding. From the time you walk in, it appears it is everyone's job to ensure you are taken care of. The food was excellent, steak and prawns cooked perfectly. I visited other restaurants during my visit and this was the best for a sit down relaxed dining experience. I'll be back on my next trip to Calgary.
Stepped their game up. After 2 poor experiences in a row years back, I vowed never to return. I did about a year ago, and was glad I did. Service was the biggest change, the waitresses seem to be really enjoying their jobs, and it showed the last few times I was there. Food has been great as well. This is a chain that is doing it right, strange that they are owned by the same people who own the Earl's next door, because the Earl's has been going in the opposite direction.
Great as always!. I have never had a bad experience at a Joey Restaurant and the lunch today endorses that it is a great place to go.

Service, ambiance and food was great. We arrived about 20 minutes before noon, and the place was packed within another 5 minutes; even with the lunch rush, they did a great job.
We shared the calamari, which comes with fennel and asparagus pieces, and a search dipping sauce – it was a good size and very yummy! I really like the sauce so I kept it for my fries. I had the Tuna Club, as a fellow diner recommended, and found that the tuna steak was so filling, it was as good as a burger - Only better when you have a seafood craving!! It was perfectly rare that it had a good meaty texture when you bite into it. I have so many favorites there, but the Tuna Club is definitely added to my list.
We had the artichoke dip, chili chicken and lettuce wraps. All were plated just as great as they tasted. Our server was friendly, prompt and brought us refills without us having to wait. The price was decent, and the atmosphere is definitely relaxing.
Great food. Had dinner at Joey the other day, and I must say I really liked there food.
I had the 30oz New York steak and it was definitely more than perfect to my taste.

One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary! Always excellent service, and consistently great food. I have eaten there over 20+ times for business and pleasure and have never had a bad experience. Always a must for out-of-towners!

Excellent restaurant. Visited Joey Barlow on jan1/13. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with a vey warm welcoming smile. Our server was excellent, he made sure we were content with everything. The food was excellent. We have to give this place a 10 for service, a 10 for the food, and a 10 for the hospitality.
Fettucine alfredo!. Their fettucine alfredo with bruchetta is sooooo yummy!
I've ate here a couple of times and they were all good .. I've hosted 2 staff parties here and service was always good to us, we usually come here or lunch as well and it gets pretty busy but I always manage to get a table .. Over all its recommended by me!
I've tried: creamy chicken Alfredo , blackened fish, salmon, California hand roll, Gyoza, burger, steak, calamari, (obv not all at once) and they were all good!
The fish tacos were the bomb-diggity and they cook a mean steak
Baja Fish Tacos Yummy!. Went for quick casual lunch with the girls. Enjoyed the Baja fish tacos, no extra accompaniments but the tacos were delish and the hot sauce was a nice touch. We shared the molten chocolate cake, which was amazing! A bit small, but with the ice cream and raspberries, it was the perfect end to our meal.
My Favourite place!. Nothing beats Joey's on Barlow. I don't think I've ever been dissapointed with their steaks, which is very hard to do in a mainstream franchise restaurant.
A real keeper. The food and service were great, but we were definitely there before the rush hit. We heard that there was a potential for a wait the later it got, so we chose to arrive early. The place is dark, romantic, and it the decor is beautiful. There is a real touch of class and elegence here, and would make for a great spot to celebrate a special occasion. I'd definitely come back, and whole-heartedly recommend it to others. Warning: it's a little pricey - but worth it.

This is by far one of Calgary's best restaurants. The service and food is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is a relax enjoy your meal type place. This is a place that I DEFINATELY recommend anyone to bring a first date or to celebrate a 10th anniversary at. If there are any issues with the order the staff are more than willing to resolve it in a professional manner no matter how small the issue. Hats off to everyone working at Joey Tomatoes.
It's okay. This place has changed since it used to be Joey's Tomato. I remember disliking Joey's Tomato for the bad service and bad food, but since they changed now, I think it's a bit better. The service was good, they were nice and tentative. The only downside is that we went during peak hours so they wait was much longer. Also, I probably recommend people to go here for dinner instead of day time, because the lights were so dim I felt really tired being there at lunch time!
Anyways, I ordered the Baja Fish Taco. I think the most expensive part had to be the fish especially if it was at that price. This place is pretty pricy, but I enjoyed my meal. Not sure if it was worth that price but it was decent overall. I can't say I am willing to come back again anytime soon just because I think I can get better tacos and I hate waiting. But overall it wasn't too bad.
Good drinks and service. Came here after a wedding with a large group of friends just for some conversation and drinks. Many of us ordered desserts or appetizers, all of which tasted great and were presented nicely.
Although the service was fantastic (considering how many of us there were), the rate at which orders were taken and handed out was a tad haphazard. Nevertheless, our waitress was always on our toes and worked hard to make sure we were taken care of.
Typically I'd write more, but that evening ended quite late.

Joey's...keeps me coming back.. Joey's is a fairly popular place, they keep the restaurant atmosphere very relaxing making it a perfect stop for everything from drink's with the girls to a romantic dinner.
We have always been greeted and seated almost immediately. They have an extensive drink list; from wine to beer to they're all too popular Peach Bellini you can find something perfect to wash down your favorite meal. Personally I am a Super Sonic Gin and Tonic or a Cherry cola vodka tonic girl and those are my favorite to take on my favorite entrees.
They really range in foods you can order a succulent steak, mouthwatering flatbread or a refreshing salad.
I of course have my preferred entrees which have never let me down. The Baja Fish Taco's keep me coming back for sure. A crunchy corn shell cradling fresh lettuce, creamy avocado and crispy fish all to be drizzled in a spicy Mexican sauce. When I'm looking for an adult twist on a kid classic sandwich I am all over the Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Thick toasted bread incasing brie, cheddar cheese and Atlantic lobster. Served with a side of their amazing skinny and cocktail sauce. And when in doubt go for the Bombay Butter Chicken tender chunks of chicken smothered in a fabulous butter chicken sauce. Served with toasted almond basmati rice and naan bread.
Overall I would really enjoy Joey Tomato's stop by for appy's, drink's, dinners and more!

A Great Place. I've been to this location a few times and every time the servers were curtious and the food was great. A great place to have a relaxed business lunch.
We love it. We have been going to Joey's NE on a regular basis for 3 years, sometime twice a week, and have often taken friends. We almost always sit in the lounge but sometimes it is overcrowded and the tables a little snug. We love the menu, find the food consistently great, the service usually excellent, the wine list well priced, and would recommend. The lettuce wraps are an excellent choice for a starter (really disappointed the ginger beef was removed from the menu!!), and the cab sirloin steaks are a great choice and good value. Add the crab legs to any meal - if you love crab you won't be disappointed. For casual dining with flare I rate NE Joey's a 4.5 out of 5
Great food and service. Normally I don't like chain restaurants but this restaurant deserves comment. I ate at Joey's twice on a trip to Calgary. Both entrées were great. The butter chicken was much better than most restaurants and the Spiced Basa was awesome. Their wine selection is ok but there are some very good wines that one can pick. I always enjoy a Cline Zinfandel or Syrah.
Gyoza Dumplings are amazing.... Gyoza Dumplings here at this place are just amazing, So good that i always have to order two orders. But thats all I have here . I just come here for the Gyoza Dumplings.Fried and put on a soya sauce and served with spicy mayo...

Along for the ride. I typically don't service chain restaurants, but my friends chose the destination that evening. I was impressed with my meal. I had the blackened basa on top of rice infused with indian spices and a mix of onion and tomato. Yum!!! The only negative this evening was the incredibly loud atmosphere.
For what it is I like this place. My kids love it and the prices are reasonable. Appy's are great. Salad is wonderful and the bellinis are super yummy. And w can not forget the apple pie. Absolutely sinful. It's a great place to have lunch and dinner. Downside I guess I there are no highchairs. But cest la vie. It's still great.
Loved it!. Okay....ginger margarita's wow, very very good. And, lettuce wraps....what a perfect combo. This is a great place to go, it's near the airport which works well if you're comming in from a long flight. Good times in Calgary!! Yee-ha :-)
