We went to this restaurant for poutine with purpose. They did a Guinness Stew Poutine for about $15. The meat was super tender and it tasted pretty good but I don't know if that was a Guinness Stew; more like gravy with meat on the side with fires and cheese curds. Overall, big portions and good service so we're happy.
The burger was really great. Good meat-to-bun ratio and the French onion soup was amazing!
Nice spot. Local owned, friendly attentive service. Food always looks amazing, apparently the pizza is on point. We go for the fish tacos, get an extra aka carte and share. It’s enough for two. The patio is the place to be in summer. And $5 draft everyday. Can’t go wrong.
4th Spot is an absolute favourite! It’s in a great location (although parking can be a pain at times) and almost always busy! Like many of us who grew up in NE Calgary, our family used to go to Karouzo’s Pizza back in the day, and they have saved that memory (and presumably the recipes?) on their pizza menu. I love that the decor represents a love and history of Calgary through photos, maps, etc. I have tried a lot from the menu and have almost always been happy with my choices (although a few misses too.) I almost always order the French onion soup- I ordered it once and now almost always try to order, it’s so good! My only complaints are: it is often very loud (although I’m finding this a frequent complaint now that I’m firmly established in middle age!!) and their fries often leave something to be desired. On numerous occasions, either myself or others have been disappointed by fries that are either soft , barely warm, or even burnt. I suspect they sit out, rather than frying them up as they’re ordered but I don’t know for sure of course. Overall a great menu and experience!
Been here a few times only tried there pizza and wings both are good the sweet chili coconut and the karate kid wings are delicious also wings are cooked perfectly.
I have been here 4 times now, they have excellent pizzas.
Their service can be slow sometimes but otherwise excellent.
Used to go to Una Pizza for pizzas but I go here nowadays.
Took me a while to try this place since there are so few highly rated restaurants in the NW and I was pleasantly surprised. I've had the meatloaf here three times and it's quite good and consistent. Their maple bacon potato chips are really flavorful and unique. Portions are not an issue with these guys.
No reservations available after 4pm since I guess they're busy enough. The other thing that stands out is their large menu. Lots of variety with pastas, burgers, pizzas and more. Will definitely be back!
4th Spot Kitchen and Bar is one of those hidden gems that I was lucky enough to try. These guys don't seem to advertise themselves enough in Calgary. What I truly love about this place is their pizza. As a kid my family used to own a pizza restaurant in Calgary. I would always travel with my dad to buy fresh ingredients so I know what quality is. The pizza here is authentic (fresh toppings, dough cooked throughly with a nice crust, and also uses a similar italian sauce recipe my parents used to use). These guys also have wing nights on Wednesdays (good wings). I'd recommend giving these guys a try for their pizza.
Love this place! The burgers are awesome. The appy shrimp is tasty. The pizza is also so good. Great little neighborhood pub. The service is friendly. the atmosphere is cozy and clean
This place is awesome!!!
There's a quaint patio out front and there's a restaurant in the middle where you first walk in and then if you go up a small set of stairs there's the bar. The place is huge. Service was awesome. They had amazing happy hour specials. $4 for a whole bunch of different appetizers from quesadillas to chicken bites to nachos to personal Pizza's. 2-5 daily.
Stephanie was our server. Very sweet and efficient. My friend and I shared a burger and it was delicious. For a burger and three happy hour specials, 2 beer and a coke our bill was $55!! The menu looks really good and there's a ton of other stuff on there I want to come back and try ASAP
I've been here many many times. Either after a sports game, team outing, Sunday golf or date night. They are always consistent with their food. Quality is there each time we go. Burgers and sandwiches are the best there. Also, try their old fashion drink. They make a very good one!
First time there, we went at 6pm and there was no wait (bonus)
I have a two year old and we felt very welcomed as there were other families there too.
I got the chicken quesadilla and fries, and it was the perfect amount of food, and delicious!
I ate it all and don't even feel like crap (like I usually do)
Will definitely be returning
4th Spot has been on my wishlist for a long time, but I hear that it can get pretty busy some evenings, so I hadn’t yet ventured out with Jay. I was treating my sister in law to brunch for her birthday and the weather was horrid (lots of snow and bad roads!), so I didn’t want to drive downtown as originally planned. 4th Spot was closer, and probably turned out to be the better choice anyways.
I have been to 4th spot a few times in the past few years. Each time I go, I enjoy the food I get as well as the service. It has a great atmosphere and design both inside and outside. Parking is very limited though, so you may need to par on the residential streets and walk. Recently, I went to try their nachos. They have changed it and now only have on size in comparison to a few years ago when there was two sides. We added pulled pork onto our nachos and we were extremely glad we did. It made the nachos much more delicious. Also, you can't go wrong with the portion size of the nachos. I would definitely recommend coming to 4th spot.
Finally got to try 4th Spot after driving by it every day. This place is great because they're on the app "Nowait" which allows you to put your name on the waitlist without having to wait. A must-have is their thin crust pizza! I loved the "Three little Pigs" one. Not feeling pizza? Well then get their French Onion Soup!
Staff was friendly. Had the maple canuck burger, very good. The person I was there with had one of the other burgers and loved it. Highly recommend.
I really like 4th spot. The popularity of this place speaks for itself. The food is delicious, I usually go for tacos or the Maple Canuck burger. The fries can be a bit salty though. They have great specials during the week and the service is always friendly. Decent beers on tap including some local favorites. So happy to be walking distance from this place!
Cool little pub and not too busy. The food was good and came out quick. The prices were not bad either. Worth trying for sure. Especially if you live close.
I love 4th Spot!
The "butcher shoppe poutine" is so good! Like if you are a meat lover, definitely try it out, and it's a big portion too! Also had wings, I love how it comes with veggie sticks as well, had the "cheesy pick up line" wings and this maple bacon wings. I never expected wings with maple syrup being so delicious. Definity try it!
I can't remember the name of the pizza I ordered, but it was on the spicier side, so I did not enjoy it as much. But don't think a small pizza wouldn't fill you up, 4th Spot very generous with their ingredients.
A really good atmosphere, and the servers are very kind, helpful, and friendly.
The only downside is, it gets quite busy, so sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but definitely worth the wait!
Highly recommend!

Love it! The menu is awesome, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Every neighbourhood should have a 4th Spot Kitchen & Bar. I.e. Tuscany!!
Every local pub should take note to the success of 4th Spot and if you're hurting for quality food and service then make the trip, you won't regret it!!
Parking was a little tight, but once your eating it hardly matters! The food was great, I ordered the maple bacon burger with French onion soup and it was fantastic! Very flavorful burger with tender meat and the soup's presentation was impressive with a huge and stretched pastry lid baked to perfection. Hubby had the pulled pork poutine and it was delicious.... Definitely going back soon!
Great patio to sit and have drinks, food is good. The shrimp tacos are terrific! Pizza is great! We always have good service here. We have never had a bad meal here.
The service was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. The food was just OK. The thin crust pizza was more like a flatbread and lacking some toppings. The burgers were good but not great. I would give them another chance to improve this rating and go back.
We visited the 4th Spot yesterday for lunch. Great casual decor and attentive friendly service from our server Sarah.
Food:
We all shared a poutine as an appetizer. Very good!
Our youngest son had the Mac n Cheese. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. Homemade at home is always better but for a restaurant, very good.
My husband and other son tried the Rocky Mountain burgers. They were big and although the patty itself had a bit too much filler and some type of herb (plain old S & P always allows the beef flavor to burst), they were delicious.
My husbands Caesar salad was bland, warm and soggy and could have used a kick up in the acidity and flavor levels.
I tried the French onion soup and Jerk Chicken Tacos. The French onion soup was topped with puff pastry. Looked lovely but pointless if there is no cheese added. The soup itself was bland. French onion soup is something that should be carefully crafted with multiple types of onions slowly caramelized over time and simmered in a rich beef broth. This tastes like someone quickly fried up some onions and threw in a carton of beef broth. Disappointing.
The Jerk Chicken tacos were also a disappointment as the shredded chicken was dry and felt like sawdust in my mouth. The flavor was ok. I ended up eating about half of one and past the other 1 1/2 to our garburator son who will eat anything offered to him.
We will give the 4th Spot one more try and will order their pizza and pasta next time.
They have the best burgers in Calgary! The maple Canuck is my favorite. We come at least once a month and we always have great service. The waitresses are always so great with our one year old, burger Thursday has become a family tradition.
Food was decent, price was fair. Atmosphere here is great though, service is friendly and best thing is that their meatballs are stuffed!!! The spaghetti is a must try!
Love it have been here a few times, always have good service even when it's busy and food is amazing. Best french onion soup around and always tastes amazing. The burgars are top notch if you want a hearty meal. Good pricing for how much food you get. I will be returning alot even when I move to the SW.
We live in the neighbourhood so we come here nearly every 2-3 weeks. The only thing I do not like about this place is that they never seem to recognize us. It feels a bit cold for a neighbourhood restaurant. The service is what you'd expect from a pub like restaurant. They have a nice patio and I like that the upstairs bar is adult only. The food is always as expected. It is above average pub food and portions are huge. I often have leftovers for lunch the next day...:). I'm giving it a 4/5 compared to other restaurants of this genre.
Came here for dinner with some friends on Sunday night. Was not busy at all, good food and good service. Quiet restaurant was nice to catch up and can have a conversation with friends, a nice little gem in the neighborhood. Would come back here for sure.
I really enjoy coming to 4th spot. Every time time I have been here the service has been good and the food is always consistent too. Their weekly food specials are great too! Wine and wing Wednesday is definitely a fave. Quite a few vegetarian options as well. Nom!
Food: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Decor: 5/5
Came here for the first time on a Friday night. It was still fairly busy at 8:30pm-9:00pm. We ordered the daily soup which was a bacon tomato but the smokiness to it was too over powering. French onion was the best one I have ever had! Amazing! It came with puff pastry on top and it was just fantastic! We had the mussels too and they were also really good. And finally, the rocky Mountain burger: double patty, peppered bacon and everything you could want in a burger. My only issue was that we were a party of five and we didn't quite fit in the booth they gave us.
Came during their pizza special night and the pizza was good! I didn't think the service was good though, it took a long time to get food and we waited for service the whole night. Menu seemed to have a good variety and the place was packed for a Monday.
Great place to go with friends. The patio is the place to be in the summer. Pizza at 4th spot is always good. Atmosphere is very inviting and chill. Great selection of wine.
While there are a number of items on this kitchen and bar's menu I always keep coming back for the pizza. Offering an interesting Breakfast pizza for #YYCPizzaWeek 2015, the 403 Meaty Breakfast Pizza was probably one of my favourite pizzas this year.
Topped with huge chunks of a soft Spolumbo's chicken apple sausage and back bacon, this was satisfying in the delicious protein department. Smothered in mozzarella cheese, it was a heavy pizza, but the real highlight was the maple pizza sauce. A sweet base, it was a very interesting choice for a sauce, but it made the pie taste like breakfast because with the sausage it reminded me of a syrupy and savoury meal. Great effort on this pizza.
For the regular menu of pizza, there are some good finds. I know it's a carb bomb, but I actually enjoy the Perogy Pitsa with the mashed potatoes and Spolumbos sausage. Each pizza is loaded with toppings, so they're quite filling. A nice fluffy dough, it's dense enough to manage the toppings if you don't let it sit and soak through. Between their burgers, tacos and salads, I'll probably always choose the pizza.
In the midst of 4th Street NW, it's a bit off the beaten track, but even then 4th Spot is a popular place. A nice neighbourhood pub atmosphere, it's a great place for a drink and satisfying food. I recommend this place to friends looking for a place to meet in the North.
Great atmosphere and a nice selection to chose from on the menu. My chicken was a little under but the friendly staff and cleanliness makes up for it. Their spicy ceaser is pretty delisious.
We are pretty regular customers there but Friday was a disappointment. Out of 4 meals 3 were below average. One well done steak sandwich was rare and the cuts cut itself was tiny. The medium steak sandwich was fine but tiny and the fries were cold and greasy. Jalapeno mac and cheese was over cooked and pretty small for the dollars paid. Overall not a great value for the price on the 3 meals. Fourth person had a salad which was great they said.
Exceptional, casual restaurant with an adorable patio. Delicious food!!! I got the spicy burger :) and my son got a kids cheese pizza. The service was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to check out live music night!
Went there for dinner tonight , we shared a bruschetta which was delicious! Ordered the chicken quesadilla which was also very good. The waitress was excellent!
Fourth Spot is THE place to go in our neighbourhood, hands down.Tired of the restaurants/pubs with the fake decor and a menu and service to match? Then do yourself a massive favour and head down to Fourth Spot. The entire place is a tribute to the neighbourhoods around it - but this isn't why it's so popular. The food is ridiculous. Creative, fresh, great portions and prices that are especially good - not to mention fun (and cheap!) daily specials that quickly become part of your social routine.I won't bore you with details - go explore and experience this awesome local place for yourself - I'm just sorry every community doesn't have such a great place to enjoy!
UPDATE 08 JANUARY 2018:
I now love this place! Never used to like it but after having given it a couple more tries and ordered some different stuff I think it's fantastic! My favourite thing on the menu is the Notorious P.I.G. sandwich. Mmmmmm
Let me start by saying I live in the area so first off I really loved the theme and design aspects of this place with the maps on the walls and such. But I've been here over 3 times and I just can't like it, and I really wanted to like it! Every time I have been there I have tried something new and I always found that there was another place I'd been to that did that dish better. It was so disappointing. And I know that wasn't just me the people I was dining with felt the same way. It's also so close to my house so I was really stoked to finally have a decent place to go to that was close and I just haven't found that here. Maybe sometime down the road I may try it again, but not anytime soon...
A few days ago, we chose this restaurant for where we would get pizza when we emerged from the backcountry. Needless to say, there were some hefty expectations. The pizza was amazing, and will continue to sustain us on the drive tomorrow.
Delicious burgers!! And definitely get the spicy mayo with your fries (it's not really spicy but soooo good). Only complaint was that the kitchen seemed really slow - not sure if that's an all the time thing or just today. Still worth the visit though! Excellent food and nice atmosphere.
Great atmosphere... Saucy balls are amazing and French onion soup is amazing. Defiantly come back! Staff was real friendly... Bring your appetite :)
Great pastas and pizzas. Fresh grinded Parmesan cheese which compliments the pastas and pizzas. Friendly staff. Lower level is for family and upper is more of a lounge. Awesome daily specials and good wine list.
Guys had a sweet meal here - meatloaf! For all ya who didn't get that: MEATLOAF! Really hip place, wore my sun glasses the whole time and no one said anything like the jerk at the army suplus.
Tons of beautiful girls where all over me but thats just how it is! Live music that I tried bobbing my head to but stopped cause I couldn't follow the beat very well.
Definatly in my top five for YYC! Hit the follow me button if you like food reviews.

Great Western food - sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc. They have live music some nights, which is really great. The line to get in can be kind of long, but if you're patient, it's worth it.
4th Spot handles crowds really well, which is appropriate because this place gets crowded fast because of it's size. They handed out free alcoholic drinks and juices to people who were waiting for seats which was nice. The food here is good, and worth the price for many dishes like pizza/nachos. The waitresses/waiters are friendly and efficient. Overall, this place is nice restaurant for gatherings of small groups (6 max?) but I would avoid holding any larger gatherings here,
Great local eatery. We live in the area but have only been here once before. This evening we went as it was 'Burger and Beer' night. Essentially, all pints of domestic beers are $5.50 rather than $7+ and each of the burgers are about $4 off.
The weather is gorgeous so we sat outside on the patio. It has a nice ambiance, it's clean and it is a good size - big enough that you don't feel cramped and small enough that you feel like you're sitting amongst friends.
I ordered the veggie burger - I think it's called the Curry Samosa Burger or something like that and decided on the French Onion Soup that came with a $3 additional charge. Hands down, this was the most flavourful veggie burger I have ever had - the chutney didn't overpower the flavoured patty, it comes with spinach instead of iceberg lettuce and a tomato (standard burger toppings). Seriously delicious. But, what really stole the show was the French Onion Soup. When my plate landed on the table my eyes popped out of my head - the presentation is stellar and instead of just having croutons/cheese melted on top it actually came with a full on puff pastry with cheese. It was insane.
My boyfriend ordered the Maple Canuck Burger. He's a total burger-dude and he said "the patty is pretty awesome" and "I can actually taste the maple" This might not sound like much to you - but in my world, this means he really liked it LOL. As a side, he had the smashed potatoes, which came with a gravy and flecks of cheese in the potatoes, which he raved about. Who knew?!
All in all - awesome experience; the food was excellent and the ambiance was great. Our server provided excellent service. My only complaint (and really, everything else made up for this) is that it took too long for our food to come out given the place didn't appear to be all that busy. People in the restaurant industry are probably thinking "well, that doesn't mean much" but really, I was a little surprised that it took 35 minutes for two burgers.
I definitely recommend checking out this place and I want you to get the French Onion Soup - you won't regret it!
Pretty yummy pizza!. Lunched at the 4th Spot for the first time today - meeting an old friend I haven't seen for a while that loves the place. I really liked the vibe inside and the homage to local history. Always brownie points to restaurants that put hand lotion in the bathroom. As I waited for my friend I looked at the thin crust pizzas so many people seemed to be ordering and decided that was the way to go. I wasn't disappointed with the "Ring of Fire" - served piping hot and full of heat. My friend was not so lucky. He ordered a burger with sweet potato fries that he had to send back because they were "not even warm". I would definitely go back.
Burning Bee Chicken Wings. Sweet & salty, crunchy & moist
What a great neighbourhood place!! The service was fantastic as was the selection of drinks.
Awesome!!!!. This place has nailed it!!!. One of the best places for scratch cooking you will find in cowtown. Well done guys!
4th Spot is The Spot. We tried 4th Spot for the first time tonight. We arrived at approx 5:45 pm and already the wait was about 25 minutes, but I think we didn't have to wait as long as that - we did end up getting a table in the bar area when we requested the dining room , which turned out ok in the end. We find bar areas usually quite noisy(thus our request for the dining room) and this was no exception. I think my only complaint about the place was the noise, which was just as bad in the dining room. However, I look at it this way - long line ups and busy dining room usually ends up equating to good food.
We ordered the housemade roasted garlic and honey wings, which ended up tasting like pedestrian honey garlic wings, nothing special. To give them credit, even though the wings were on the smaller side, they were cooked perfectly. Not overly fried and dry which can happen at other places. The bacon jalapeno mac and cheese my husband ordered was seriously cheesy and bacon-y. It's quite spicy and our server joked that she would be surprised if he finished it and it's true ... this is a dish for true heat lovers. My Mahalo pizza (Ham bacon and pineapple) was ... dare I say ... one of the best pizzas I've had in the city to date. Thinner crust but very generous with high-quality toppings. Our dessert of chocolate cake was very good and a bargain with ice cream at $6.99. Overall, servings are very generous and we saw many people leaving with packaged left-overs.
The decor of the restaurant is modern but warm and inviting - it's a place where you'd go with friends and hang out over a beer, which we saw many people doing. The servers can't do enough for you and greet you warmly plus make sure they thank you for coming in. Highly recommended for a casual night out with friends - not so much an intimate dinner as the room is very noisy.
Great spot. Better sounding Menu then taste. My husband and I have been here twice now. The line up is usually 20-30 min wait but it seems to go by quickly. The front of house staff are friendly and efficent. The wait staff are also friendly and prompt. I have enjoyed my drink selection each visit but this past time the app we got was calamari. I did not enjoy it at all. Too small, over fried and just seemed off. My husband got the braised beef I believe. He enjoyed it. Said it was almost too much to eat in one sitting. I got the avocado friend hamburger. It was just ok. The sweet potatoe fries and dip made the meal for me. I will return but I will try something different. Maybe the pizza.

Always yummy and great service. I live they're meatloaf meal!
Worth the wait!. I drive past this place all the time, always see it lined up and think "It must be good, we have to try it one of these days". Well, finally on Friday night, we decided to make 4th Spot the location of our date night, and I can only say I'm regretting that it's taken us this long.
Showing up at 6pm on a Friday night, we were anticipating a long wait, but it was only 15 minutes before we found ourselves at a cozy table up in the bar area - the place is much bigger than I thought it was from the outside.
We took our time making selections from the unexpectedly great drink menu (wonderful draft, bottled beer and wine selections!) and browsing the food menu. So many things I would like to try, it was very tough to choose, but finally settled on the Station 7 Burger w/ fries for him and the One Love Tacos w/ sweet potato fries for myself. So good - I don't know what else to say, except I have been craving those tacos again since we left. The burger was HUGE and the boyfriend left truly stuffed, which doesn't always happen - he wasn't even able to help me finish my fries.
Everything about the night was great, I can't wait for another chance to return!
Good experience. The Chipole deep fried avocado burger was tasty and very interesting. Very good burger.
Absolutely love this restaurant. everyone there is so nice and the food is to die for, I go almost every week for wing night. the live music is usually pretty good as well. would recommend

Spot on!. I decided to take my friends recommendation and took 6 other friends for a spontaneous dinner out. Although it was a Friday night and had a group of 7, the hostess was welcoming and put tables together in order to seat us all. I ordered the Pistachio chicken club sandwich with a side of smashed potatoes. AMAZING! The sandwich had the perfect balance between the seasoned chicken and hint of nut at the end of every mouthful. The smashed potatoes were delicious too. I just wish I could have gotten more potatoes. My sister ordered the Hawaiian pizza, but it was just meh. I would definitely recommend coming here for the great service and food. Ambiance was a plus too! For those of you who pay attention to the small details in the restroom, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a little station with expensive lotion, kleenex and soap!
4th Spot? Great Spot!. Love this place, I am here way too often. My only complaint is that sometimes the Tough Guy wings aren't as hot as they should be (i.e sometimes they are really really hot, exactly as they should be and sometimes they are more of a medium which is a letdown when expecting inferno).
Greats daily deals. Love the burgers.Nice to have this place a few blocks from home.
Delightful!. The food was very, very fresh because the restaurant gets their food from local suppliers. I ordered some cheesy saucy balls and ate the mouthwatering steak sandwich accompanied with a divine poutine. Overall, the beauty of dining here lies in its simplicity: excellent service, fresh local ingredients, and impressively prepared food.
Although it was daunting having to wait ~20 minutes before being seated because they do not take reservations, I was surprised to be offered a beer sample while waiting in line, which definitely made the wait less painful. Bonus points to them for doing this!
I absolutely enjoyed my experience. I found this place online as I was looking for a pub in NW. Don't be fooled by the exterior as it is a bit rusty and misleading. The staff were very friendly and the food was awesome. Very cozy place and no extra loud music. They have a dining area and a lounge. The burger was by far the best I've had in Calgary made with fresh high quality ground meet. The only thing I did not like about the restaurant was the fact that I could not make a reservation. They basically work on a first come first serve basis and on a Thursday night we had to wait for about 20 minutes. That aside, every thing else was great.
Solid neighborhood eatery. I like the variety on the menu. There’s definitely something for everyone. The French Onion Soup was delicious! I love the cheddar puff on top. Nice touch and great presentation. The tacos were good too. My partner had the pizza and he said it was slightly undercooked in the middle. This isn’t a fine dining establishment so don’t expect the service to be amazing or you’ll be disappointed. I’d come back just for the French Onion Soup!
Went with a friend just after Christmas. Amazing food and service. Everything was flavorful and perfect. Good beer selection. More IPA would be great. They do make a delicious caesar though. Definitely recommend this place. Have also heard that the pizza is amazing but haven't tried.
4th spot is a cozy local haunt that serves comforting food. I really love that the restaurant pays homage to the neighborhoods around it with photos of well known areas throughout the years. Our server was friendly and efficient and the food was tasty. There is a small covered parking garage and pad that you can access from the alley behind.
Friendly service. Established kitchen with an array of tasty pizzas from crust to sauce to toppings. Fine beer selection. Enjoyed the Medicine Hat Red Ale to the mellow Stone’s Beast of Burden. Marble bar counter with comfy chairs. Up and downstairs. Booths and open spaces. Happy hour specials to keep a working stiff going. Shout out to Juniper
Really sad I never went here earlier. Everything on the menu is handcrafted, probably the best wings I’ve had in the city. Pizza was too notch too. Lots of great drinks and draught beer options. I only I wish it was walking distance to my place.
