Review Notable - The Restaurant - Calgary

Booked a birthday dinner and called ahead to inquire about items I wasn’t seeing on the menu which used to be there, and received a call back saying that the scallops had just been added back to the menu this week. We shared five small plates and enjoyed everything… sadly no room for dessert! Excellent service from our waiter, with some nice touches. Half price wine bottle too (not sure if that is every Wednesday or special for last night).

Notable never disappoints. The food is delicious and the service excellent. My gf and I shared 4 appetizers for lunch and had leftovers. I love the deconstructed Cesar Salad with seared scallops. The Potato Rolls were beautifully presented and tasty as well. This would be a go-to place whenever friends and family come into town or luncheon with the lady pals.

Finally got to visit here and experience did not disappoint. Of significance was the service. Waiter was super knowledgeable on the menu and very friendly. Food was awesome. Being happy hour into early dinner, the portion size and price was good for the quality.

We had a 6:45 pm reservation last night. Restaurant was not overly busy at all. We were seated to out table right away. The hostess and sever were excellent. Friendly greeting and sever really took the extra effort to accommodate my daughter's dairy and egg allergy. We ordered 3 appetizers. The Caesar salad, Calamari and the Ravioli. The caesar salad was delicious. Had little bits of cured bacon and the the lettuce was roasted a bit to give it a light char flavour. The Calamari was cooked perfectly and the various sauces and little slices of jalapenos gave it a nice kick. The Ravioli was also very good. It was loaded with sea food and the pasta bite was perfect. The creamy sauce was very good with some salmon eggs. After the appetizers the main Entrees took a very long time to get out. We wait over 45 minutes after the appetizers. That is a reason I took a start off cause the food took so long to get out. My half chicken was okay. The legs were very moist but my breast was dry. The mash potatoes were buttery and the green beans gave it some nice crunch. The duck breast was very good. It was cooker perfectly and the flavours were very complex. I had a few bites and I enjoyed it. The Pizza and the Fries were for the kids and it was ok. Fries were a little burnt for my liking. For dessert we had the chocolate pudding. Kids pretty destroyed that. I had one bite and it was very rich in chocolate. Overall it was a very good meal. If the food would have came out faster and my chicken breast was not dry I would have gave this restaurant a higher rating. This restaurant is known for their chicken so to fail on that is a big hit in my books. I think maybe the forced the chicken to cook faster just based off the time it took to come out.

Our server was amazing. The food was great although the food did take a bit longer than expected. Had romantic ambiance vibes, really enjoyed the interior of the place. The steak tartare was great, salmon tasted amazing, but thought the ahi tuna steak was okay. Would definitely come back.

I wish I could divide my review for food and service because the food was great, but the service was poor considering the cost of the meal. I went here with my family for a birthday dinner, our server was Justice and he was great for the first half of the meal. We all had drinks, appetizers, and a large plate. The food and drinks are all amazing, we shared the Smoked pork potato rolls, and the Diablo calamari, and for my meal I had the Bison Flank and the Prairie Moon as my drink. After the appetizers were served the service dropped off quite suddenly and we all felt as if drinks were pushed quite hard despite the fact we still had drinks left in our glasses. We were only checked on once in 40 mins and had to wait 15 minutes before boxes were offered for leftovers, 10 minutes for our bill and another 5 for the machine. As it was a birthday dinner and they had directly asked on the reservation if it was an event, we were confused when nothing really happened. The experience was mediocre which was sad because I was very excited to show my family this restaurant that I have liked for years.

This place was amazing. The appetizer Potato pork rolls..well..they were to die for. My friend had the ahi tuna sandwich and I had the fried chicken breakfast burger with truffle parmesan fries. Portion sizes are huge. We couldn't even think of dessert. The waitresses were awkwardly nice. Very quiet and calming atmosphere.

Super impressed with our service and food! We made reservations for a birthday dinner. I made sure to indicate that we had specific diets (celiac/gluten free, dairy-free). The server was very knowledgeable on what was allergy friendly. We felt very safe with what we could order. Our meals were impeccable. My friends who are celiac/lactose intolerant ordered a bunch of appetizers and they loved everything. I had the rotisserie special (bison) and it was the most tender bison I’ve ever had. The veggies were well seasoned and tender. My friend ordered the mussels and frites. The portions were huge and so flavourful. Everything was high-quality and well worth the price. Highly recommend for a special night out. We will definitely return!

This place is wonderful, the food was incredible we both had the rib eye steak with carrots broccilini and fingerling potatoes everything was cooked perfectly, best tasting carrots I have had, steak was fork cut tender and risotto was as advertised by Kate our waitress as heaven in a bowl, extremely fast service very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, the "no-bull" beer was very tasty, would recommend this place to anyone interested in true wood fire food great atmosphere Oh and don't pass on the potatoe pork rolls they are amazing, you can really feel the community atmosphere in this place, will most definitely keep this place as a must visit again

This place is amazing. From the minute you arrive you are greeted with servers who enjoy their job and make you feel at home. The menu is amazing and with my wife's gluten intolerance they have a great selection of gluten free options and don't make you feel that it's an inconvenience. I highly recommend this place and I don't normally do that but wow...great place to eat.

We had purchased multiple gift cards for Notable. But we had never enjoyed a meal ourselves, until recently. What a fabulous night! Our server brought us champagne flutes to celebrate our first ever meal.... and it just got better from there. All of his suggestions we ordered. He was knowledgeable and friendly! The food was cooked perfectly and delicious! We couldn't decide on the desserts, so they "accidentally" ordered an extra. We will definitely be back!

Our first time there tonight. The food was delicious, and the service from ALL the staff was excellent, but especially from our server, Erin. Would definitely recommend to all our friends. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening out

My son took me to Notabes for Mother's Day Brunch. The food and service I would rate as 10, the food was delicious the service was excellent. The reason for the "Poor" rating is the lack of accessibility to people with a handicap, I have MS. Climbing stairs is a challenge. There is handicap parking in the parkade; however it is not close to an elevator. As I have limited use of my legs I climbed the stairs which was challenging, my son carried my walker up ahead. Coming the stairs after our fine meal was more than challenging but I did it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a disability it is not worth it.

Restaurant Review. Calgary, Alberta NOtaBLE - The Restaurant Tonite, I was surprised with an amazing dinner out at Notables. I will give this restaurant a 9 out of 10. The food was spectacular. We shared the Lobster and Shrimp Bake The pork chop and white corn grits. To live for. - the pork was perfectly cooked and the grits had so many layers of flavors, I had to have a moment. I had the strip loin with Shallot Butter and veg. You know you are in a fine dining establishment when there is no need for salt and pepper on the table. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Dessert was over the top. If you go to this restaurant, you must try the Chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice cream. An amazing evening created with love. �

Was here Saturday Oct 21 2017 with a party of 4. Tried to get a reservation 24 hours in advance but was told they only reserve 1/2 the tables so it would be first come first served. Arrived at 7 pm, told it would take an hour to get a seat and it was 70 minutes. We stood in the foyer with our drinks until there was a table available. Food was great, I had flatiron steak and neon squid. Service was also very good, better than what I expected given how busy this place was. Would recommend but if you don't like waiting get a reservation :)

First time....food good but quite long wait to get order tben my frittata was very over done on the bottom (almost burnt �) but flavours were great! Live music was so NOT needed and made it VERY difficult to carry on a conversation as the was quite loud! Would like to try again a different time of day to try other menu items.

I was there yesterday for a birthday celebration, the mussels were delicious! The prime rib 40 oz was very chewy, i did not enjoy it, had 2 bites, it was shared with 4 other people. Good thing the rissoto and ravioli dish were good!

Never have I been disappointed, discovered this gem few yrs ago from work (lunch), now notables has become our go to place for any big or small celebrations, this past Wednesday we celebrated my brothers grad as well as our 5th wedding anniversary, and as always great service, great food, drinks and atmosphere, and I truly appreciate the fact that unlike other restaurants, our 11 month old and 3 yr old were welcomed. Love this place!

Yesterday I had the pleasure to visit this restaurant and enjoy the great atmosphere they have in there. The food was fantastic, full of flavor. Chef Michael was very approachable and friendly, he didn't hesitate to tell us about his restaurant and the different plates they serve there. The service was impeccable form everyone. We had Lorie as a server and she was great. Brittany the restaurant manager greet me at the entrance and made sure we were well taken care during our night, she also had time to show us the private room they have for meeting and events, she is lovely, ask for her and she will make sure you have a fantastic night. Cant wait to be back!! Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere , delicious food, good wine selection. Parking in front of restaurant rarely an option. Service is great. Was a little disappointed in the scallop appetizer - only got 2 scallops and was served with grilled romaine - was good, but nothing memorable, and for the price would have expected at least 3 - 4 scallops. Will still return - overall amazing!

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. My friend and I shared the delicious mussels with toasts in a tasty broth to start followed by their trademark rotisserie chicken. Outstanding meal. Service was a bit slow but understandable. The place was hopping! Great welcome environment. Can't wait to return :)

Always a delicious meal in a wonderful warm and welcoming environment. I take all my colleagues here for dinner when they are in town. Great menu and wine list and service too. I had a great Shiraz last night and if you know the name of it, please send me the name.

Delicious... romantic... excellent service... food beyond amazing... everything about that place I love... would recommend for ladies night dinners or just a night out with someone special... I'll go back again and again! Thanks for another amazing night!
