I love Cactus! I have tried locations in multiple towns and cities and they never disappoint!!
Truffle fries, Yam Fries, Jambalaya Rice Bowl, Lava Cake are some of the things that i LOVE to enjoy when i’m at Cactus!!
Went with a group of work friends for lunch.....two of us had the "BBQ Duck Club Sandwich" with a side Kale salad. The sandwich was amazingly delicious - moist chunks of BBQ duck - on a toasted fruit bread. Side kale salad was extremely good too. Service was attentive, friendly and professional. Previous visits here were excellent too....great summer patio. Highly recommend it!
Large portions & good flavours. Meats were cooked nicely & we liked the jalapeños in the calamari. Lounge can get loud, so ask for the restaurant side on date night (4/5).
Greeted by hosts that seemed like they couldn’t wait to get off their shift... but other than that service was great and food is consistently good. Not usually a steak person but the mushroom steak is to die for. I rarely finish every single thing on the plate but I do every time I order this!! That sauce with the mash is unbelievable!!
A busy & trendy restaurant with pretty waitresses :) The food is quite delicious. Millionaire steak was perfectly done and side dish was delicious as well. I enjoyed squash ravioli with prawn, too. The creamy sauce was a very good balance. I loved the cocktail called frose. Dessert is not bad, either, cheese cake was rich, smooth but not heavy. Lava would be even better if the lava could be hotter and flow out when we scoop it.
The tuna stack its my favourite. The place it’s small and loud but the food it’s great and the staff is friendly as well. For sure I will come back
Today was my second time at The Core location, both times we came for the happy hour. Atmosphere is great and food is awesome, we got fish tacos (our fave) and even the truffle fries is pretty good. The Passion Fruit Bellini is amazing and is a bargain at $5. Special shout-out to our wonderful server Katrina for her excellent service :)
The vibe was great and it was super busy on a Sunday which is nice when you want that environment, the staff was super friendly and food was great. They lost a star due to a “staff member” off shift dancing next to our table the whole night and she happened to spill her drink on me. The manager was great and bought us a round, Just strange that he didn’t do anything about the girl, no one goes to cactus club to have people in your face dancing, they go for the nice sit down dinner and what was supposed to be good conversation on our three year anniversary. But great otherwise
Cactus club is always the place to be! No one says no to it! Service is fast, waitresses are friendly, everything on the menu is perfect and it’s always super busy! I love the tartare there!
Cactus Club is a place to go to for some drinks or even grab a bite of there tasty apps! I was seated in the dinning room. Our male server was very kind and friendly. The food came out quickly and hot. The atmosphere is very elegant and romantic. The area was very clean, and the staff were dressed very well. I highly recommend this place for the food, service, and environment.
P.S I would also like to say thankyou to our server who ran down stephens ave after the restaurant was already closed to give me my purse which I forgot. Your awesome!!!
I love coming here. Consistently great service. Their drink selection is great - I especially like their Sangria. My most recent visit I ordered the Quinoa salad and it's better than the ones I've had a few different restaurants. Lots of flavor and great ingredients. Nice portion size too. I'll continue to come back here whenever I'm downtown.
I write reviews on Yelp solely to get invited to their ‘elite’ parties. Most recently, I attended a Taste of Cactus Club. Holy smokes – their management team (Elim, Jim, Curtis and Kurt) can throw down. We were so spoiled, I felt like a rock star. For this post, I think Guns N’ Roses ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ would be most appropriate.
I came here on a weekend for happy hour. It was during the Canada day long weekend as well, so there were special drinks on sale. I love the ambiance of the environment whether it is inside or outside on the patio. The food is cheap during happy hour, I got to try their truffle fries and mini burgers which were so good. The truffle fries had a lot and they were soooo good! I definitely recommend coming for happy hour.
I ate here a while ago but forgot to review! I had a burger with a gluten free bun; the bun wasn't dry at all like with most places and the burger was delicious. It is stacked pretty tall so it can be hard to eat (and messy!) if you don't cut it in half. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very kind and helpful as well. I'll definitely eat here again in the future

My experience at the Cactus Club Cafe last night was truly remarkable - and that's the understatement of the the decade. I never thought I would rate any restaurant a five, but for CCC last night, it is very well deserved.
Setting (5/5): Our table of 6 (including 2 kids aged 10 and 7) were accommodated very well in a plenty-of-elbow-room booth lined with supple leather seats. The dimly lit environment was perfectly accented by candlelight. Music was at a good level, and my view of the kitchen was pleasant.
Food (5/5): Where do I start? The butternut squash ravioli topped with prawns was delightful. The cream sauce was well balanced and the prawns has a great snap to them and a perfect mouth feel. The mini-burger was fully loaded and its patty expertly seasoned. We shared a few orders of truffle fries and they were top shelf. I can't say enough about the food. "This is very likely the best dinner I have ever had at a restaurant," exclaimed my F-I-L about the Millionaire's steak (and prawns) that he ordered. They had a winter chef's tasting feature menu where you could choose an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert for $40 - not a bad deal.
Drinks (5/5): My wife loved her Caesar, which was accompanied by a skewer with an olive, roasted red pepper, bocconcini cheese, and a mini onion. Beer and wine were as expected and good. The kids loved their Shirley Temples.
Prices (4/5): Well, we arrived with 1 hour left in their happy hour, and what a deal that was. They had a limited selection of appetizers (including their delectable truffle fries) for $3 and some drinks ranging from $4 to $6. Entrées ranged from $23 to over $30, topping out at, I think, $42 for the top end Millionaire's steak and prawns. So a bit pricey for me, but par the course for this type of restaurant.
Service (5/5): Tyson was attentive and knew the menu very well. What more can I say?
Overall (5/5): Great food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favour and pay CCC a visit.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service and delicious food. Don't miss Rob's Crispy Chicken sandwich...so good. Or indulge yourself with the Butternut Squash Ravioli.
Excellent service whenever I come here. I personally just like to order a few cocktails with my meal and maybe a dessert before I go. I didn't have to wait that long before they ushered me to a table. The jambalaya rice bowl was like an explosion of flavour in my mouth, I liked it. I'd recommend the lava cake if you still have room for dessert.
Side Note: I want to mention that their bathrooms are amazing. There's no gap anywhere so you really have privacy.
Everything and everyone from start to finish made this Cactus club experience a great one! Our server really stood out to us. His name was Brayden and I highly recommend him. He was extremely friendly and knew a lot about the menu. He was more than willing to find out the answers to any of the questions he was uncertain about. He was very personable on top of being super quick and accurate. Our food was awesome and considering how full the restaurant was, we thought we got everything very quickly. Our favourite was the beef carpaccio appy, but we really enjoyed the Duck club and Jambalaya too. The restaurant was very clean and it was clear that everyone knew what they were doing and wanted to do it well. I will undoubtedly be coming back here if I want great food and great service!
Average food, good service! Had the fish tacos and they were delish. Service was friendly and not over bearing, but music is quite loud (maybe I'm old, haha) but really have to yell to hear each other. Would definitely go back.
It's so difficult to get a table during weekdays lunch hour, but I finally got the chance. I Ordered the Rob's crispy chicken sandwich and my co-worker ordered the Baja fish taco. We both love our meals! The chicken was nicely breaded and seasoned. The only negative comment was the fries were a bit cold by the time got to our table, but other than that nice atmosphere and friendly service, definitely worth coming back!
Great place to stop for an evening drink and experience more of the downtown city feel. Absolutely loved our server, who definitely made really enjoyable. The patio was perfect for the summer evening, and the large umbrella helped keep us sheltered from the light drizzle. Their menu provides a fresh selection, and some delicious appies to share. Very chic, and a stunning city vibe.
What a beaut of a place situated on Stephen avenue. Lovely terrace area outside, the place is clearly a hit as its buzzing. I had a peach Bellini which was utterly delicious. I have yet to try their food but the menu looks very appetizing. Would highly recommend. Great service.
Ordered a burger. It tasted good. The service was good. We were served quickly and the orders our table made was accurate. Nice ambiance in the restaurant. Will be back again.
Really good food, we shared a 9oz steak with prawns with mashed potato and asparagus. For appetizer we had the hot wings and they were really good but very very spicy. Ceasers here are so good too.
I came here last weekend with some girlfriends for their happy hour and we had a great time! Our server was super friendly and personable. She even remembered all of our names at the end of our meal when we asked for separate bills!! Drinks were really good and if you go, definitely try the Tuna Stack...WOW.

Cactus Club Cafe is one of those chain restos that doesn't feel like a chain- the food is solid, the drinks are tasty, and the service is great. We go to CCC locations all over Vancouver, so we were excited to try this new location, it's much less "suburban" than the other Calgary locations.
We had cocktails and supper on a Saturday night; both were excellent- I really dig the new Classic Cocktails menu- lots of different things to try, and the prices are not as high as they could be for these types of beverages.
The food is great, as at all CCC's, with a varied selection that includes modern dishes, classics done well, lots of lighter fare options, and full-sized mains. I was very happy that they had the BBQ Duck club sandwich, it is AMAZING! Mrs. Had the short rib sandwich which was very good as well.
The service was really good- polite, attentive, informative, and pleasant. We did notice that there are SO MANY STAFF working it's hard to comprehend... everywhere you look there are girls in skirts and heels: blonde hair, brown hair, red hair... not saying that is bad, because they seemed to be keeping busy, but I'm surprised they weren't bumping into each other.
The visit was great, it's a great way to begin a Saturday evening. Unlike that other western Canadian chain (who's name rhymes with "Pearls") I find that cactus club has managed to stay relevant and keep quality, selection and service standards high...which is why we keep going back!
I was here recently with a few friends for lunch. The service was great from start to finish, our waitress was patient and attentive and quite knowledgable about the menu. The food was also delicious: I had the pacific lingcod with Thai red curry sauce and all the flavours and textures were spot on. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well. I will definitely be returning to Cactus Club Cafe!
My biggest complaint is the wait times to even get in to the bar to have a drink. Hey it's not their fault, the place is new and is super popular but it's frustrating to not be able to get in, even at 3pm in the afternoon. Once you are in, it's a dimly lit cozy yet cool atmosphere with great servers and friendly staff. Probably THE place to be on Stephen Ave, until the novelty wears off.
This new location is very busy all the time it has a great atmosphere. When you first enter, there are usually so many people waiting it feels like a club but in the dining area it's a nice vibrant but relaxed atmosphere. The food here is excellent especially the blackened creole chicken. It's a favourite that I always keep coming back for. The server was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit this location again!

Had dinner here with the boyfriend the other night and I have to say, definitely the best CCC in the city, hands down! This most likely has something to do with it being newly opened but in terms of food quality and service, it surpassed the other two( NE and Kingsland(SW)) that I have been to. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed which was a great sign. We had about a 20 minute wait, and during this time we were seated at little tables and was waited on there( asking if we wanted drinks) which I thought was great, hadn't even gone in and service had already started.
We were seated within that 20 minutes which was great. Nice decor and feel inside, a bit dimly lit but I think it set a great mood for a date night.
Our waitress was very nice and food was great. Babe ordered the Feenie Burger I believe it was called which he loved and I ordered the Jambalaya Rice which was amazing as well. And we also had the cheesecake for desert which was amazing.
The mark for great service for me was I had order a drink, a negroni, just to try something new but it was definitely definitely not for me, I took one sip and that was my last sip. I asked our waitress if I could get another and it was no problem, she took it away, brought back a peach Bellini and removed the price of the negroni from our bill. I don't know if this is standard at most restaurants since it was the first time it had happened but I reckon some places might have been more hard on making us pay for that drink so I appreciated the smooth handling of the situation.
All in all great place for date night, amazing food and great service. Definitely first on the list when I think of Cactus Club Cafes.
Only negative was that as I was approaching the end of my meal, I feel like was asked too often if I was done. I was asked by both our waitress and another waitress which seemed a bit excessive.
Brand new location and everything is so delicious. I always get the butternut squash prawn ravioli. It's a rich dish but I cannot stop eating it because it's so good! The service we got was also excellent. Cactus club never fails!
Very bumpin' location. The interior was very nice and the place was completely packed on the Friday night that we went. The hostess was very kind and told me it was going to be about 30-40 minutes for a table, so we waited. 5 minutes into the wait, the table was ready which was awesome because we were all starving. We ordered chilli chicken, butternut squash soup and the tuna stack to start. That tuna stack was delicious. Next, I ordered the creole chicken. It tasted like every other location. Our server was nice but not too memorable.. She didn't come around that often nor did she smile. Will be back!

Went here last week, a day after their opening day! The place was packed as expected and has an awesome vibe! Just like other cactus clubs, the decor is really nice! They served drinks while we waited for our table which was nice, as the bar area was packed! I tried the cheeseburger. The beef was somewhat dry and may have been over cooked, and so I didn't really enjoy my meal. They also forgot to put mayo on my burger, which may have been another reason why it felt like something was missing. Also, I found it weird that the only way to order a cheeseburger is to order a bacon cheeseburger and ask for no bacon. This means they charge u more for something that you are not even having. When I asked if I could substitute extra cheese for the bacon, they said there would be an extra charge. I thought this was kind of odd. Also, I know this may sound like a good thing, but there was too much staff there, some of them just standing around. We were bothered multiple times during our meal, where one staff person asked as the same questions as a previous staff person; so it felt like we kept getting interrupted. I really like the location, and will be back, but will not order the burger ( I'll stick to the blackened chicken entree), and hopefully their staff is more coordinated by then.
