I don't usually do reviews, but this place is too good not to. We had a group of 12 and the staff were extremely accommodating, even bumping out reservation time up last minute. There wasn't a single empty cup for the entire three hours that we were there. Our entrees came quickly and all at the same time, which was nice for such a large group. The food was to die for. There's a reason the bison burger has been voted best in the city three times. The service was exemplary! I only wish that this restaurant was in Edmonton as I'd like to dine there more often but every time I'm in Calgary I will surly dine here.

First Time to Open Range. It was recommended by a friend for our 10 year anniversary. Great food and service. Really like the ambience. Only thing I would recommend is to add a total chocolate lovers addition to the desert menu. The Flourless Dark Chocolate Ganache Torte just doesn't do it. Everything else was superb...!

Loved everything about this place. The menu is beautiful, the food is sourced beautifully. The staff were more than able and willing to answer my questions about their producers and sources. The music was perfect (and great volume!), the ambience and art is great. Even the prices are great. I will be back many, many times!

A.m.a.z.i.n.g. you like fish and seafood? This is your place. You like standout game dishes with wood boar, duck, elk, bison? This is your place. From service to ambiance, quality and variety, cleanliness and most importantly flavor, this restaurant has it all. Menu is a double feature of those who enjoy traditional dishes with unique ingredients. I had chicken breast, simple right? Stuffed with bacon, vegetables, in a white wine sauce; the result? A symphony of deliciousness. Most mains start at $35. Applies at $15. Worth every penny. Looking to celebrate a special occasion or just for an extraordinary meal...look no further. Venue not suitable for large parties over 10. Parking in the tear is kind of tiny.

Due to pandemic-related restrictions, we hadn't been here in a while, so it was good to be back. I ordered the pistachio-crusted Arctic char and my wife had the roasted lamb shank. Both dishes were superb—my fish was served at the perfect temperature! Our server was appropriately solicitous and made the evening a most pleasant one.

First time! Husband and I both got the soft shell crab club! Amazing! It exceeded my expectations! The yam and original fries were both delicious too. I for sure will be going back whenever I crave this burger. We wanted to try some appetizer and dessert but we were both sooo full! Their drink menu looked amazing too! The restaurant is slightly on the smaller side but it was easy to reserve through open table!

Iv tried this restaurant on my way to Banff national park and the food here was tasty. The service was excellent, the food tastes very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating but during my visit the seating outside is closed due to the weather conditions. The elk and salmon are highly recommended here, this location is excellent for fine dining.

The place is small and a bit dark in my opinion. However, I love the menu with lots of selections and pricing is pretty great for what you get. We were two adults and a toddler and were actually stuffed from just a few oysters and two entrées. Everything from the veggies to the meat/fish was tasty and flavourful. Our server was nice and attentive as well.

Excellent food and fantastic service! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Oysters, mussels, lamb shank , walleye- everything was top class! Getting to choose from both menus is just perfect to enjoy the best of both worlds!

We had a milestone birthday brunch last week and we are so pleased with the quality of the food and the portions of each each dishes/entree. We had a big group (9 adults and 2 kids under 10) and we had the best service from Cindy and the rest of the Big Fish/Open Range team. My husband who booked the reservation thought that it was a breeze and we also had a follow up call leading up to the date. On the day itself, the setup was all set and they also allowed us to have our own gluten free cake cut by their kitchen staff. We have foodies in our families so it is wonderful to hear that they are very impressed with the food quality and portion - as most of them have also not tried their brunch menu. We had seafood platter with homemade condiments of chutney and spreads, the lamb and scramble, seafood chowder, Soft shell crab club, bison burgers, egg bennies, and even the kiddies liked their French toast (and happily devoured them), and lox. Great local food and very attentive service and truly sumptuous dishes! You gained a fan in us. Thank you for the great hospitality!

Why have I not been here before? Absolutely 5 star!! Girlfriends lunch day. Fantastic meal, excellent service. Sangria. East and West coast oysters. Lamb burger with crab. Lemon Lavender tart. Chocolate torte. Muah, muah. Even the coffee was delicious.
