The food we received here was solid for the visit. For such a big party (10 adults and 5 small children and babies), we were impressed by the food quality and the attentive service. We didn’t have BBQ as we didn’t want the kids crawling around the sizzling hot grill, but I would like to come back for a BBQ feast. The restaurant was a regular in the “Best Korean” category at the Restaurant Awards. But they didn’t care to do anything innovative to keep up with the dining trends. However, if they are keeping the customers happy, that’s all it matters.

came here during weekend lunch after church, ordered something that i craved, jajangmyun and tangsuyuk i think that's how you spell it, so the jajangmyun black bean paste noodle, is good i don't think you can mess up that one, and the tangsuyuk is deep fried pork with vegetable, defintiely have the sweetness from fruit and vegetable. overall if you're craving for korean food i think this location will be satisfy your craving. definitely worth dropping by for a simple meal

During a particularly snowy portion of December, where one would barely be able to see the ground in front of them due to the immense snowfall, some friends and I had previously made plans for dinner and karaoke. We decided that snow or not, we were going to follow through with our plans! The first stop, some warm yummy Korean eats.

Hanwoori Is located on Imperial Street (a block away from Kingsway). They have a decent size parking space.

We try Mul Naeng Myun 冷麵 and Soontofu Jjigae.
Mul Naeng Myun is a buckwheat noodle in cold beef broth, topped with sliced beef, pickled radish and halved boiled egg. The noodle is very tasty and pretty chewy. 🍜

Soontofu Jjiga is a  soft tofu stew with baby clams, shrimp, and pork in spicy broth.  It is severed in a hot stone pot, and it is filled with lots of tofu.  Delicious! 😋
We enjoy both dishes.  We take off a point because they only allow one time refill on the side dishes, but we definitely will go back and try their Korean BBQ.

Food: 🍽🍽🍽🍽 Should Try!
Service: 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳
Price: 💲💲$30-$50 for two

Hanwoori Korean Restaurant in Burnaby is popular for their Korean BBQ Set meals. We came here on Mother’s Day and they were all booked up with reservations, but they still told us to show up early at 5pm as there would be seats open. There is some ventilation in the restaurant, but it isn’t very powerful. If you are dining here, don’t wear your best clothes as they will smell. All the tables here are booth seating.

Grayson and I were feeling Korean again…there seems to be a trend of this lately but I don’t care because I love me some Korean food. Originally we were going to head downtown to go over to either  Sura or Ma Dang Goul, but the weather didn’t look too optimistic so we decided to stay in Burnaby instead. That’s how we ended up at Hanwoori Korean Restaurant.

Good sized portion and prompt service. It is a bit hard to go to the less expensive cuts after feasting on the prime cuts ;) Not really an expert on ban chan but their potatoe pickle is amazing

I've been to this place so many times over the years and I've finally come around to leaving a review. they are very good at so many different kinds of dishes.
This time around, we opted for the Budae JJigae soup for 2. It was $32 before tax and tip. It is cheaper to order two Budae soups for one, than it is to order the two person jeongol-but imo, worth the extra money in portion and ingredient difference. I did notice that they charge $1.50 for sidedish refills here-but there were 5 generous portions of them provided. The soup was delicious, flavourful and full of goodies. I would have rather had less rice cakes in it because rice is already served with it.
Service was fast and friendly. I would recommend making reservations. We were there on a Thursday evening, and we saw people that came in after us waiting for quite a long time.

You can smell the bbq meat flavour once you open the doors. Word of warning, if you don’t want your clothes to smell like the meal you just cooked on the bbq, then I would suggest not wearing your favourite clothes here! I learn that the hard way! Just the two of us, we decided to their Combination A which it says was meant for 2-3 persons.

Tonight this was our destination for some cook-it-yourself Korean BBQ. The restaurant was pretty regular inside and out. Designed for function there was not much to describe in terms of aesthetics. Even the Christmas lights with its pine trim was kept up all year long for practicality. You turn it on to celebrate, otherwise it stays off the rest of the year.

Nice Korean restaurant! I would come again! The sizes are good too. I think they don't put a lot for side dishes but its okay. I didn't really like the jiajangmyeon but I like their tofu soup

I always thought that restaurants with grills or hot pots in the centre of their tables are brilliant ideas on the business end.  Firstly, as a business owner you don’t have to cook any meat, since you’re letting the customers do so.  Secondly, as a customer, you get to cook your own food, and feel like you took part in your own meal.  However there are at least a dozen more cooking surfaces for the staff to clean, so there’s at least one obvious drawback.

Reminded me of my second home. South Korea. This place is super authentic and freaking delicious. The kimchi chigae came out piping hot and the sides were plentiful, fresh and very delicious. Ecstatic to have am amazing Korean restaurant within a ten minute drive to my work. Very reasonable prices as well. Been here more than a dozen times. Kamja Tang is amazing too!

This is Korean food that's a step above.  Although I was a bit dismayed that the prices had increased sharply, it is still very much worth the additional money.  Special mention goes to the raw beef and the BBQ marinades are truly excellent.  The true measure of a good korean restaurant though are the pickled side dishes.  It's are to argue with Homemade goodness.  This is one of the best Korean restaurants in Vancouver.  Hands down.

Really enjoyed the bibimbap, the pork bone soup and side dishes. The restaurant is clean, has good service, but most importantly, we were very happy with the generous ingredients (cucumbers, zucchinis, carrots, mushroom, spinach, a fern-like-seaweed vegetable and egg) with the delicious bibimbap which came with a flavourful milky pork bone soup and 6 side dishes of sprouts, seaweed, marinated potatoes, veggie pickles, pickled daikon shreds, and mildly spicy kimchi. Pork and vegetables in spicy soup dish was not as enjoyable as the soup lacked in flavor but the Korean seafood pancake was quite tasty and very big, it would easily serve as a side dish to share among a group of 6 people. Overall, we had a lovely dinner.

I’m not entirely sure why we don’t visit Hanwoori Korean Restaurant… from what I remember of our last visit, we were very pleased by the food.

On this visit, we decided to try their Mul Mandu – Steamed Pork and Veggie Dumpling.

Good food, warm restaurant.. Came here because I was curious about Vancouver Magazine saying this was the best Korean in the city. It was a hot day so I wasn't interested in getting too much food. Ended up with the pork steamed dumplings and the Mul NaengMyeon (cold buckwheat noodles). The noodles were nice and the broth was flavourful, but the dumplings didn't seem very special. We did come in the middle of the afternoon, so the place was completely empty the entire time. It was a bit hard to flag someone down at the start, which was a bit annoying, though what was worse was that the AC wasn't on, so it just got progressively hotter. But the food was good enough that I think I'll try it again.

Mmmmm BBQ!. I had been to Hanwoori once in the past a few years ago with one of my colleagues who is Korean, and have been wanting to go back ever since. Trouble is I was always afraid to go without him becuase I wasn't sure what to order. I decided to go with another friend of mine (not Korean), and see if we could still have an enjoyable experience.

For starters, we went on a Monday at 6:00 and it wasn't too busy, only a few tables occupied. The staff was very helpful in explaining some of the questions we had regarding the menu and we settled on Korean BBQ for two, which had the beef ribs, spicy pork, chicken, and sliced beef meats. To that we added an order of the deep fried chicken in chilli garlic sauce (Item # 36). And for drinks we had Soju with Kirin beer (Try Soju Bombs - take a half glass of the kirin beer, pour a shot of soju in to a shot glass, drop the shot glass in to the beer and GUN BAE!!!).

The food was EPIC, the service was great, and by the time we left the place was packed! I'm writing this the day after, and I'm already wanting to go back tonight.

Definately a keeper in my books.

Shabu shabby is a must In Hanwoori you can trust. Had the shabu shabby for two. It was so good. Tons of veggies, two plates of beef and when you are all done that, they bring out fresh hand-made noodles that are cooked in the beef broth you have been cooking with with some added garlic chili powder. Great comfortable place to enjoy some Korean food

I always look forward to visiting my grandma on sundays after church, because we go FEASTING! LOL!! She's my partner in crime when it comes to trying out new restaurants! For an old asian lady (no offense to you if you're old LOL) she's a pretty adventurous eater! Most (if not all) of the retired asian folks that I know always go to the same restaurants, week after week haha. According to my grandma this is partly due to the fact that they can't really read English so they don't know what to order and because they were never exposed to food from other cultures growing up, so they're only use to eating chinese food.    When I go out with my grandma we rarely eat chinese food, because I'm the only person she knows that can introduce her to new, exotic, *sparkly* foods LOL! I've been wanting to try this place out ever since I read on Urbanspoon and Yelp that Hanwoori is supposedly the BEST Korean restaurant in Burnaby!  SIGNATURE DISHES     Hanwoori Korean is one of three Korean restaurants in Burnaby that specializes in Korean tabletop BBQ! The other two are Potter's Garden (which is across the street from them) and Cho Sun! They also have a ton of other staple Korean dishes like bulgogi, bibimpap,  naengmyeon, even fried rice! SERVICE  3 /5 stars    Service was really quick, but not particularly friendly by any means. They did their job, they fetched us extra plates at our request and were quick to fill our orders. Our food came fairly quickly and all at once, about 10 mins after we had placed our order! What's neat about Hanwoori is that they have a service call button on each table so you can press it if you want to get their attention! AMBIANCE - Casual   The restaurant itself is modestly decorated with wooden panelling throughout. They have large booths along each side of the restaurant, and tatami rooms in the back for larger parties! The place is heavily ventilated with ventilation above each table for BBQueing! It's also really bright in there because they
