Review Curry Express - Burnaby

Absolutely delicious food. I came a few days ago and I also came today. Today there was these ladies, they are super kind and polite. But there was a rude costumer bothering them. I hope they are okay. Some costumers don’t know how it feels to work in the retail environment. I don’t expect anyone to be nice to me too. Just be kind to other people

Curry express is in Metrotown mall. Their line up and wait time was less than other restaurants in the food court. Quality and taste of their food was good. I tried curry combo.

Finally, an Indian joint that offers a small portion of curry and rice! Other establishments I've been to only offered larger portions. The butter chicken curry was well-flavoured, and the rice complements it. The chicken were boneless and cut in bite-sized pieces, which made my eating experience way less of a hassle. I would order again some time for a quick craving of Indian cuisine.

I took their smosa chat and chai … smosa chat was pretty good but i will not say that this is one of the best for an obvious reason that its in food court like other fast food resturants and is not a fine dining restuarant. But their chai is amazing… its not too strong by adding too much black tea or not too bland by adding too less tea. Its not too milky and its not too watery (i mean if u make tea by adding 2.5 cup water and 1 cup milk). It was not too sweet personally i added one sugar by myself later. It was served very hot. Chai is a thing with which you can impress an Indian person. And yess I am. Really liked their food. Sorry I am being a bit descriptive but I feel general words and a short review would not help anybody.

Excellent staff. Special thanks to the manager for offering a vegan substitution to the naan bread in the combo. Much appreciated. I know that I'll be back.

Honestly, I loved their food and its portion size. I had ordered a small rice serving with mix veg & cholle (chickpeas). The dish was delicious, although some people will find it a bit spicy for their palate. This all cost me around $13.23 including tax. (The Naan are 2 for $2 if you want it on side)

I work with organization which is around Metropolis at Metrotown. Sometimes i visit Food court there for lunch. Being vegetarian from India, i was happy to find Curry Express which offers Indian cuisines. Found their quality of food as amazing along with reasonable price. They also offer indian samosa along with chatni which is irresistible. Pakora curry , Mug daal is tasty too. Staff is quite friendly too Now i visit them quite often as i love indian food. Must visit. Thanks & Regards, Mj.

I ventured for a meal at the Metrotown food court on the wrong day. It was busy, it was crowded, and line ups were unavoidable. So I saved my time and walked right up to the only stall without a wait: “Curry Express”. They are also the only Indian cuisine offering in all of the mall. They advertised themselves as being “fine Indian cuisine”, I would argue that detail. Especially as everything was premade, kept warm under heat lamps, and waiting to be dispensed from metal troughs.

Portions have become ridiculously small.. Used to come very often, perhaps over 50 times. Butter chicken was exceptional. Now portions have a few pieces of chicken, I counted 5 small pieces. Will not come back. Will no longer recommend it.

FoodCourt'n. You get what you pay for - Curry Express offers some reasonably tasty watered down Indian food in a food court. They stock popular western fare like butter chicken, Palak Paneer, and a variety of other curries. The samosas and naan aren't bad. The chai is decent but I've had much better in India.

The staff here are fast and friendly. I can tell the owner really values your business and wants you to be happy.

I felt kind of ripped off when I ordered the Palak Paneer once - it tasted as though they mixed potatoes cut into cubes to resemble the paneer. My order had only a few paneer cubes in total.

JUST LIKE MY MOMS COOKING. I am Indian and this place is AMAZING. I have even brought my parents here when they come from Indian. The portions are good and the PRICE is right! If you go to a sit down Indian Restaurant you are going to pay BIG Bucks. Not here! I get a Combo Special and pay 9.19 with tax. The service is good. I like going when the owner is there (Peter) always have a good talk with him. It is more about how the food taste then the money with him. There is always a line up so go early before 12.

Good for quick Indian fix. Good, fast, cheap. Best fast food curry. Only complaint, they've gotten a bit stingy on the curry portions lately, they used to give a lot of chicken with the butter chicken. Now you can sort of see them selectively skim the curry to give what seems to be a minimal amount which is a bit disappointing.

Very good butter chicken and naan! I'd like to try some more of their food.

THE BEST !!!!!!!!!. Good curry; good price and fast service. Whenever I feel like eating Indian food, I always come here. Their BBQ chicken is the best; for less then $2 a piece, it's a bargain. Highly recommend to all.

I love Indian curry! and when I go to the mall, most often, I’d eat curry. Curry Express is located at many malls. The one at Metrotown is alright. Service is usually good. Portion is fair. Seats can be found most of the time, though depending on the cleaning rounds, you may find only dirty tables. There are a variety of choices, but I always go for my favourite – butter chicken with rice. $5.60 Sure, it’s obviously not the best curry – but for fast food, I think it’s pretty decent. In comparison to other Curry Express: Do not eat at the one in International Village Mall (also known as Tinseltown mall). The food there is old (doesn’t take good – blah), small portions and although the food court is empty, it’s a bit depressing there. The Oakridge Mall one is the best for food. The older woman is rude and terrible, but the girl who serves the dishes usually gives a lot on the plate.

Curry Express is exactly what the name implies… you get quick curry items when you need it the most. The problem is that the food isn't the most authentic that it can be.
