Always good and so friendly!. My wife and I have been coming here for nearly 6 months as a once-in-a-while treat. Can't beat the prices, and the food is "home cooked" good (my favourite is pretty simple, the preserved egg and pork congee). The staff is very friendly and always helpful. We always enjoy a dinner here, and so does our Visa card!

Welcome Back. We visited Paul's last night for the first time since the tragedy. We were thrilled to see a clean, bright, updated restaurant and menu. Although familiar faces weren't there to greet us, the new relatives greeted us and the service was very good. A dinner for 4 was ordered as well as lettuce wraps and when the corn soup arrived, we were instantly amazed. It was honestly the most delicious soup I have ever had. Piping hot & creamy, there was enough for 10 people in the bowl. The lettuce wraps arrived next and they were better than ever followed by the remaining dishes for the family combo. Everything was hot, fresh and you could taste the individual flavours in each dish. There are some big appetites in our group and we wound up taking home leftovers, the portion sizes are an excellent value. So happy to have you back Paul's!! See you again soon!
This place is amazingly great! Such good pricing for delicious, HUGE and hearty home cooked meals. My mom used to come here for school lunches and passed this tradition on to me! I've brought many a friend to Paul's and nobody has ever had a bad experience there. The only thing is lately I've tried calling a couple times to order takeout and I get no answer (just keeps ringing) please tell me that this place didbt shut down or ill be completely heartbroken that I never got to say goodbye with one more delicious Paul's super deluxe burger! (They freshly grind sirloin per order so the party alone is worth the price of $5.75, which gets you the burger and all the fixings-- fried onions too-- and fries or a salad.)
Best Value Ever. We head to Paul's about once a month or so. Don't go for the decor, go for the food. It's always piping hot and really fresh. Each item on the plate tastes different from the other, just like it is supposed to. Can't beat the value either. Combo plate for one person is huge and we always take home leftovers.
Stopped in for lunch.... The kids were at Dolphin Theatre watching a movie and my tummy was grumbling. Popcorn didn't suit my hunger. I walked up the street looking and discovered the KFC was closed. I kept walking thinking "maybe McDonald's?".
Good thing I stopped and peeked. Paul's Restaurant is a quiet little Ma & Pa type of restaurant. Owned by a Chinese family they serve Chinese AND Canadian food.
Today, I had their chicken club sandwich with fries. I figured it was quick and easy. The order came out within five minutes of me ordering. I thought: "Huh, kind of fast?". The chicken was super moist, hot (temperature wise) and flavorful...something you don't find with most restaurants. Stacked tall with big slices of tomatoes, crispy lettuce and extra (burnt) bacon. Too bad, I like bacon just a little limp. The fries were your basic Costco brand fries.
The old decor of Chinese painting like my great grandparent brought from China mixed in with the brown siding and aged lighting makes Paul's Restaurant kind of roomy like old Chinatown. I kind like it. More people should stop by instead of going to those fast food joints.
So good. Despite the old school decor this place is a gem. If you're looking for that hole in the wall best food for respectable prices then Paul's is your place to go. Chinese food lunch combos for under $8, and good luck finishing it or try out there Canadian food, Deluxe Burger and fries for $4.95... how can you go wrong with the home made patty cooked on the flat top so you get that flavor crust all on a toasted delicious bun. I had the burger and fries and started with a small Won Ton soup (which wasn't small) and walked out of there under $10 and needing a nap. I wouldn't need the won ton to start but it's so good and why not for only $3.50? Paul's is a great little spot for lunch or dinner, you will see me there every Friday that's for sure.
