Service was good and the food came quickly. Portions were ok and flavourful. Compared to other Korean places, this place was quite spicy. Instead of using a gas stove or electrical plate, the restaurant uses a gel burner so it was hard to control the temp of the food. I ordered the chicken hot plate with cheese and it came with soup, rice was extra but you could chose to have white rice or kimchi friend rice (fried on the hotplate with extra kimchi).
Saw this place on the bus and had to stop by for lunch on my day off! Excellent prices, friendly servers. I got the kimchi soft tofu soup with beef - it was decently spicy, had lots of beef and tofu, and came with side dishes and rice. Would love to come here again with a small group for dinner.
The beef short rib soup is good value as a lunch special for $10 and surprisingly tasty. The servers
are nice and attentive. Only drawback is the A/C which isn't working too well in this abnormal
heat wave we are experiencing this year.
Great food and service! This place is filled Korean patrons. The server was very nice, and she came around few times to make sure everything is good. Will definitely visit again :)
It never surprises me how often restaurants come and go… it’s a tough business, especially in a fickle place like Vancouver. I was driving by the Edmonds area of Burnaby last December when I noticed that a new restaurant had recently replaced Lui’s Chinese Restaurant. The thing that really caught my eye was the name of the new restaurant… Oh! Zzhu Sam Korean Restaurant.
