When I think of Bubble World, the first thing that comes to mind is bubble tea. And if you go visit their Kingsway location in Vancouver, that’s pretty much all you can get. However, if you travel east down Kingsway for a bit, you’ll find their Metrotown location which also serves up classic Taiwanese fare.
• one of the first bbt place I used to go
• conveniently located along Kingsway & Wilson; few blocks from Patterson skytrain station
• Taro is my favourite, however BW uses powdered taro. To satisfy my palate I asked for fresh/powdered taro mixed together and it was better tasting!
• friendly service :)
This location is great. It's usually kinda packed but I've never waited that much for a seat.
Their food is pretty good and reasonably priced. What I enjoy here is their bubble tea! If you're dining it then they give you a pretty generous amount (I can never finish it), and you can always take it home.
Their beef brisket on rice and Chinese pancakes are my favourite!
First time trying this chain store in Burnaby. There food were surprisingly better than the one in Richmond. I like the Sacha Sauce fried noodles. And the pop-corn chicken was pretty good too. But the intestine noodles were a bit to chewy.
I do like their bubble drinks here and I also like their spicy beef noodles, takoyaki and beef wrapped in Chinese pancake. Their customer service is pretty bad. on rare occasions, we did get decent customer service but 75% of time, their customer service really bad. Even when we order to go, the waitresses seem clueless and seem high on something because we ended up waiting for 30 minutes due to she had no clues what to do with take out. Also the place is very busy and crowded and can get very noisy. The 3.5 stars is only for the food and drinks.
Bubble World in Burnaby near Metrotown was a place I frequented back in the highschool and early university days, but recently I've been coming back here a bit more often and it's just as good as it was back in the day! They're a Taiwanese bubble tea restaurant with more modern and western style dishes than traditional ones.
Service here is friendly and their bubble tea is awesome. They'll go out of their way to give you open options on their menu. Only think the bothers me is how sometimes their cups come out sticky.
This is a Chinese restaurant that's well-known for their drinks. Here, they have comfy seating and a large variety of foods and drinks! Overall, the food is alright but they definitely could improve their service
The caramel macchiato slush had a thick velvety smooth texture and was topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. The drink had a strong coffee taste and noticeable caramel flavour. Baby-Paca said it tasted a lot like a Starbucks frapuccino. The pearls were lightly sweetened and chewy. The pudding was yummy and had just enough of that eggy custard flavour.
My milk tea slush today did not taste as good as it usually does. It was a little too milky and lacking in tea flavour. I have been consistently satisfied with Bubble World’s milk tea prior to this visit, Maybe it’s just an off day. The pan fried egg roll with dry meat floss (肉鬆蛋餅) Is a snack I always order at Bubble World. I’ve tried it at other Taiwanese restaurants in Vancouver, but they never seem to get it right. The egg and crepe like wrap was rolled up with a generous helping of pork floss in the middle and served with a garlic sauce. The fried fish cake (炸甜不辣) is also one of my staples at Bubble World. These salty peppery fishcakes are golden pillows of perfection. They’re airy, soft and chewy. I always ask for a little dish of the garlic sauce to dip them in
As good as before.... I have been there many time, food always very tasty
I love their bubbleteas... I have never tried their food, so no comment on that, but their bubbleteas are the best for sure ! good size, and all the different flavors that i've tried were all good. one small thing that i don't like about is they take "cash only".
Try the matcha sesame milk tea. As stated in the title, you HAVE to try this drink if you like hot milk teas and want to try something different from the (hot) original milk tea. It comes in a tea press (to keep the matcha out of your cup I suppose) and it is not too sweet.
Yummy!! Will definitely come back and order it again :)
It was nice. The bubble tea flavours were quite refreshing to me since I only had those typical mango, strawberry, etcc flavours. I tried the Green Apple Calprin Slush with pearls ($4.45) and it was really tasty. It had a tangy yet sweet apple taste to it which I really like. I read a couple of reviews and saw a couple of photos before I went to this place and I always thought that the cups at Bubble World were really small but they're actually quite big. I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice ($7.95), Taiwanese Rice Noodle with Bean Sprout and Meat Sauce (dry) ($6.95), and the squid lips ($5.95). The Kimchi Fried Rice was really good actually. If you really like spicy food then I will recommend you to get it. For the taiwanese rice noodles I really like it but I didn't lean on that much for the noodles part probably because I don't really like rice noodles that much. But the sauce I have to say was pretty good in my opinion. It had a lot of flavours to it. The squid lips I have to say it was okay. I felt like it was over seasoned. When i ate it, it was extremely peppery and salty, but i love the texture of the squid lips though. Now going to the in details with the service and other things. When I first walked in, i noticed it really hot in there. I thought they'll turn on the AC considering it's hot inside and outside but they didnt. All they had was a big fan near the door but I felt like it didn't do much. The place that I went to was quite small too. The server who served us was quite nice and the food came out pretty fast. I will say maybe 5-10 minutes of waiting for the food. Overall it was a nice place to go to.
Love the bubble tea, a lots of options. Just don't wanna go there in summer. Too Hot! No air-conditioner. :(
I always go there for some bubble tea and to sit and chat with a couple friends . Foods not bad either (:
YUM. I absolutely love the taro oreo milk tea here. They only do it at this location if asked.
It is usually slush which I rather prefer it milk tea.
The bubble tea here is all good haven't tried one i didn't like.
Also the tako yaki is a great snack!
Decent Bubble Tea.. Like most BBT places it's loud and there's a crowd. Came here with some friends on Sunday night, and while there was nothing special, that didn't mean it wasn't good anyway. It's a good place to hang out if you're okay with the amount of noise. The fact that they have stuff other than bubble tea and desserts is a plus.
Bubble tea is it's specialty. Had Red Bean Slush and it tasted just fine.
Service was pretty non-existant though (there were like three ladies handling the whole place which wasn't big so that was kinda a drag but more time for us to chat it up while other people had to wait for a table :)
Salty Peppery Chicken. Their salty pepery chicken, so far is the best
Although it's a bubble tea establishment, the food is good and they have a huge selection! Bubble tea: 4.5/5 The top Bubble tea establishments in Vancouver definitely are Tealips and Bubble Queen but Bubble World doesn't fall too far behind. Their milk tea, slush and powdered bubble teas that I've tried have all been good. I'm a huge taro bubble tea fan and they make it really well. A popular choice is the Oreo Taro Slush but this still confuses me. In what universe is blending oreo into a drink a good idea? Nevertheless my f
The Mango Slush w/ Pearls was amazing!! Comparable to Bubble Queen's almighty Mango Slush! Bubble Queen's is more of a smoothie consistency whereas this is a slush.
My love for original milk tea with half mango stars half pearls on the side.
Yea I’m sorta picky that way. Regular milk tea is good anywhere, you screw it up then thats just sad (stupid nightmarket bbt…) Not much to say, if you’ve never tried it. TRY IT. its simple and good.
To share, SB and I ordered the Five Spice Beef in Chinese Pancake ($5.25). (I was quite out of my element since the English descriptions on the menu aren’t that helpful, so I let SB do most of the ordering since his knowledge of Chinese is far superior to mine.) The pancake was way too doughy, and wasn’t at all crispy. The green onion was in one long piece, and didn’t really add anything to the dish texturally. The beef itself was very sweet, though.
The Final Verdict: Bubble tea is always good here. Yummy taiwanese snacks. Be sure to try their salty peppery chicken nuggets (鹽穌雞). Slow service, but not bad service. Good place to sit and talk with friends and they won’t kick you out. :)
After dinner at Saffron, Marv 'n I decided to head over to Bubble World just a few stores down to get a drink. This place seems to be always busy! I'm actually quite surprised that it is, since it's metered parking for this location. Bubble World 4300 Kingsway, Burnaby BC Tel#: (604) 434-5551 There was already a line formed for take out orders. Lucky for Marv, as he was undecided on what he wanted to try this time. Above left is the Pudding Milk Tea with Pearls. This was my order, I found it to be very sweet and a lot yellower than I'm used to. Normally when I order this, I prefer to have pudding chunks along with the drink, but this didn't have it. Above right is a Mocha Milk Tea with Pearls. Oddly enough, Marv chose this drink?! Considering he doesn't like chocolate, or coffee and is lactose intolerant…. this drink has everything he doesn't/can't have! LOL Post by Colleen Send to Facebook
Bubble World, a franchised BBT restaurants, is well known in the Metro Vancouver area; they have 8 different locations around town. The one in Burnaby is the usual location we would go. This is a very popular location for whether you're grabbing a bite or just enjoying BBT with friends. Most of the time, it's fairly crowded but we were lucky that day - probably becau
Some colleagues asked me to join them for dinner at Bubble World in Burnaby. Since most of them knows Buddha Boy, I have asked him to join in. This place is always busy! The prices are quite reasonable, but unlike other BBT shops...you do have to pay taxe
L and I took a coworker V out for bubble tea. Her first experience wasn't great, so I wanted to take her to a trusted good place and order her a trusted good drink. As we work close to Metrotown, the closest and best plac
Bubble World, (or the literal translation from Chinese, "Big Headed Boy") was one of the first few bubble tea spots available to Vancouverites in the late 90's. Since then its grown bigger, priced higher, expanded to multiple locations, and has be
