Balkan House is a good example of how simplicity translates into perfection. You can taste the homemade goodness in each bite and appreciate the fact that what you are getting is pretty pure and without added chemicals and unnecessary ingredients. I also LOVE how you get a full-course meal and very generous portions regardless of what you order. This is one of the few meat-oriented restaurants where you can also get plenty of vegetables. I love the fact that when I order veggies as my preferred side dish, they don't modestly throw in a piece of two - they load half of my plate with them. The buffet items also explode with flavour and are always fresh. I have been going to this place for the past 12 years and have not once left it feeling dissatisfied in any shape or form.
I heard from this place from 2 friends actually, one was curious and the other one his co workers always ate here, and so I was curious as well it's so then, went here for a postworkout meal, definitely a good strategy for my meal.
buffet for around $16 if i'm not mistaken and how was the food? hmmm for $16 i would say it's definitely worth it for me, ate 4 chickens, 1 mash pound potato, sausages, and pretty much everything atleast a scoopful of it. was it worth the money? yes. chicken was moist and buttery, and potato is a slightly buttered as well.
tastewise i would say is actually pretty decent. love the potato, and chicken but everything after my first plate all the flavours becomes pretty mixed and neutralized, afterall it's pretty okay though. food is good, might go back here again, "might" if time allows

Excellent Food:) at affodable price! If you're looking for authentic Balkan Cuisine loved by by Serbians, Bosnians, Hercegovians, Montenegrians, Croatians, Greeks, Albanians, Macedonians, Hungarians- come here! Similar to Mediteranian Cousine with loads of good quality meats, fresh salads, authentic Balkan+ Middle Eastern side dishes and unique selection of Balkan desserts - a fussion of sweeter Greek/ Turkish and lighter creamier Austro Hungerian desserts - you'll find it here.
For an opportunity to taste a bit of everything- Sunday Lunch Buffet is your best option:)
Rolled up roasted veal and a variety of fresh salads are my favorite.
A selection of Balkan vines and beers are a great bonus !
Free parking available at the back :)
Vegans abstain. Not for the faint of heart (or small of stomach). I've been here a few times with a big group of friends for the buffet. I like it, but let me be clear: nobody comes here for the healthy eats. It's greasy. It's salty. It's starchy. It's meaty (mostly porky). You may not have a good bowel movement for a few days after. Highlights are... the meats (the pork especially). And the potatoes (and I don't usually like potatoes, not even French fries).
I'd warn Muslims to be very careful with the meats. We found staff was not helpful in identifying the animals involved. Rule of thumb: if you don't see a drumstick, it's probably pork.
A colleague recommended this restaurant. Had dinner there with my husband. Ordered the meat platter for two. Loved the cevapcici the most. We would definitely go back for that.
Go for the experience. Worth checking out, if partly to see all the Eastern European families coming in.
Although the restaurant caters mainly to the meat-eating crowd who like their schnitzels, what vegetarian offerings they have are actually done quite well. Their styles of steamed vegetables and rice elevate what would normally be ordinary dishes. I found their scalloped potatoes to be a tad salty, though. They also have corn bread and hearty salads.
On the meat side, my partner enjoyed the veal, but found the chicken to be too dry. When we're adventurous, we may try a schnitzel dish or stew on another occasion.
You do pay a bit more for the experience. For that reason, it will be a while before I go back, as the food was good but not exceptional. The atmosphere, however, is inviting, with unconventional but comfortable booths. Service was quite helpful on our visit.
Came here for the buffet! Amazing food! Succulent and tender meats and their cheesecake is so delicious! Good ambience! The only thing I'd say is that I wish the waitresses could do better on being alert to customers' needs/requests. Other than that, great place!!!
Don't let the location and outside decor fool you. This place was pretty darn good. Cocktails were good value ($4.45) and the food was between $8-13 per entree. The kalamari appy size was $6.50 and the portion was good. The taste and quality of the food was good. Overall experience: Thumb's up
Great food and huge portions!. I went here last night with a couple of my Serbian friends and I was very impressed! I shared the Balkan platter with my boyfriend, and we got the portioning for two but it was way more food than we expected. Not ony did it one with fresh bread and a salad each, but the mountain of meat also came with rice and mashed potatoes! We took at least half home with us.
The cocktails were also well received, which made the live musical entertainment a bit more bearable! I will definitely go back, but maybe on a night where they only have a cd playing.
Nice family style retro restaurant, big portions. We got the Balkan platter, the menu says there are six kinds of meat in it, but other than the bacon, everything taste similar. My favourite is the dessert creampita, has a nice texture and not too sweet.
The best place ever for our holiday occasion with friends and family. The food is great. My favourite menu is Balkan Platter- 6 assorted meats . Great flavour. So good, and I would love to recommend everybody to try if you love to have a party this place is a wonderful place for you to enjoy your meal..👌👍
We visited this restaurant by our friends' recommendation and ordered the Balkan platter which included meat patties, sausages, bacon, shish kebab, and smoked pork neck. Get ready to be fed! Amazing value for the amount of food you get. The salads were refreshing. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try any desserts as we were STUFFED after the meal😅. Definitely will go back!
Really delicious!!!! Tasted like your mom cooked it and amazing flavors and portions! The booths are so big and comfy too 😀 highly recommend
love this place. I have been going here for years with my family and the food is always top tier. it’s quite a distance from the house but we don’t mind as the experience of going to Balkan House is worth the drive (even with these crazy high gas prices!)
Nice place, $22 for my meal by myself. Minus the wine. Nice atmosphere and staff. I am glad I stopped to try Balkan House out! There was a lot more menu items that I wanted to try and will come to try them all.
We ordered the balkan platter for one & it was enough food for two people. They had big portions & tasty bread. Good value for the price
