Review The Sunshine Doughnut Company - Burlington

I fancied something sweet and of good quality so I thought of Sunshine donuts in downtown Burlington. Less than 30 minutes later, I had a half dozen of these gems in a box next to me on my drive home. These donuts are big, and certainly worth the price after you try one! The staff are pleasant, and its a nice bright atmosphere inside, totally opposite of its exterior other than the giant donut on the roof. I love to support local small businesses and will certainly recommend these donuts .

I love sunshine doughnuts! Especially when I get a chance to even have them. I’m from Mississauga and love to drive over to Burlington just for these doughnuts! Fluffy and the different flavours does not disappoint. The girl that was helping me seemed a little impatient, because I was also ordering for other people. Although, no biggie I will just get my order ready, ahead of time. Overall very happy with my purchase and so did everyone who enjoyed them with me!

This place is dangerous! I'm grateful I don't live close by because not only would I be broke but I would be diabetic. As a donut lover, this place has definitely become one of my favorite spots! Wasn't even able to take a proper photo before having to take a taste, sorry!

I am not a doughnut person at all. But I had heard good things about this place, so decided to give it a try. I tried their mini donuts and got a creme donut for my son. Both were really really good, and I think I'm going to give them a try again for a different flavour.

Checked out Sunshine Doughnuts. Got the Apple Fritter, Lemon-pistachio, Lemony Lemon and Burly Cream(Boston Cream). Loved the Fritter which had large chunks of apples. The Burly Cream also stood out to me with its rich chocolate ganache. Yeast doughnuts were fresh and tasty. Beautiful looking doughnuts. Decent sized doughnuts, a bit on the pricy side(price is inline with other gourmet doughnuts in TO)

I visited this store after 2pm and there were only two flavours left - Cherry and Blueberry. They were not my favorite, but I had to purchase some because I drove down from Milton. I came back home and had them with my wife and children, then I surprised its taste was very good - even better than I expected! It was refreshing and different from ones in other donut stores. I will definitely try different flavours next time!

Delicious. I went here a bit later in the day so there was not as much selection available but that was ok with me. Got one of each left to bring home and share with the family. All were amazing. I had a peanut butter and jelly one, the pink on in the photo, and I loved it. The peanut butter filling was light and delicious and the glaze on top was bursting with flavour. I'll have to try it again some time, but earlier in the day!

Drove an hour here and arrived 45 minutes from closing. Was greeted with locked doors, employees already cleaning and a sign that said “sold out” when I can clearly see four racks of donuts sitting inside the store. It’s a Sunday afternoon, why would you close early when you clearly have stock left or make so little stock that you are closing the store an hour early due to “sold out”. EDIT: I can only add photos but we literally watched the employees toss all the racks of donuts in the trash and eating some themselves as we were leaving.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time yesterday. Doughnuts were gigantic! They were also the best doughnuts I've ever had, no lie. I so find that for the size and taste of the doughnuts, they are well worth the price. My doughnut was 3.50 but it was also the size of a baby's head and tasted like heaven. The person working was very friendly and we chatted for a bit, had a very nice atmosphere. It's a smaller store, but I hope as they get bigger maybe they can get some benches outside for enjoying the awesome goodies outside on a nice summer day. Will definitely be coming again. Tim Horton's doughnuts will never satisfy a doughnut craving again lol.

Amazing old school donuts with a fresh twisted with retro style decoration on top. Coffee was decent too. Friendly staff! They sell through quickly but they bake consistently. If you like them check out their pizza restaurant too!

Where do I even start? My entire experience with Sunshine Donuts has been incredibly amazing. I got married in the summer (June 24th) at kortright center and prior to contacting Sunshine, I had another vendor lined up for donuts, which fell through (everything happens for a reason). I was devastated, until I found Sunshine. Ashley was on the ball, attentive and always positive and very helpful. They took me on as a client without hesitation and to my surprise delivered all the way to kortright (Vaughn). Every email was answered in a timely fashion, I was always greeted with a friendly smile and was always made to feel welcomed by Sunshine’s staff. I’m a photographer in the wedding industry and when any client of mine wants help finding an amazing company to help add that extra spark to their wedding, I ALWAYS without hesitation recommend Sunshine. Their donuts were SUCH a hit at the wedding. I had ordered 20 extra donuts (for myself LMAO) and they were ALL gone. What I really loved the most about my experience is how Ashley took the time to see me in person and customize my order. I had told her my vision of my wedding and she suggested doing 3 different flavours of icing to go along with their Sunshine original donut. She was even able to match the colours. Her input was so helpful and welcomed. I cannot wait to go back in and order more of their AMAZING and yummy donuts. They are a must !! Totally worth every penny and if I could do it all over again I would have ordered 2x the amount of donuts. Amazing doughnuts, huge but very light when eat them. Good variety of flavours. Prices are higher but every bite is worth it.

Received a box of 4 doughnuts today from Sunshine. Everyone agreed the dough was strangely salty and unpleasant, and the sugary glazes didn't make up for it at all. They were quite pricy in comparison to how lackluster they were in quality and taste (I appreciated how tall and puffy they were however). Wouldn't be interested in purchasing anything from this company again, to be honest.

Underwhelming. Not worth the cost or the drive. Have had better at franchises.

Visited Sunshine Doughnuts today, and was really looking forward to it... We ordered a coconut cake doughnut and key lime doughnut for comparison to our favourite doughnut place in the world, well we absolutely amazed by the lack of quality, and flavour for $7.65. Now I don’t mind paying a price for quality, but really! The doughnuts lacked flavour on their own. The coconut cake doughnut was greasy, and all the coconut flavour was in the very sugary coating. The key lime was fake flavour and come on guys.... use real whip cream!! I think we’ll stick with Global Donuts in Sarnia.... now those are REAL DOUGHNUTS!

Impressed. Blueberry Basil caught me by surprise. Sour cherry also another favourite. Donuts are boring everywhere else. These donuts are worth an early morning drive on Saturday.

Not what I expected. Pricey and taste was nothing special. Spent 35 bucks for 6 donuts and 2 lattes. Yikes. And not even a table to sit and eat your donut. That was disappointing.

Amazing doughnuts. Worth the money because they taste so great. Treat yourself to something Good!!

Picked up 6 donuts and a fritter on Monday. The peach vanilla fritter was delicious. Best fritter I honestly have ever had. We shared the donuts with friends. Dulce de leche and coconut were our fav. Highly recommend.
