My friend invites me for late lunch today, we loved their dim sum in August 8, because they always fresh make in the restaurant. However, I had a very bad experience today, I found a curly body hair with root in my shrimp chives dumpling after I have one bite. I decided not to come back again, so disappointed.

Great service and amazing food. We came here on the boxing day and the sushi buffet was fantastic, and people here are very welcoming and kind. Highly recommended.

Great quality as always. Prices have gone up, but that's not a surprise in this post Covid world. Shrimp Tacos are great!

Food was delicious! Everything was prepared beautifully. It was my first time there. Very busy, but the staff was still attentive and courteous. Portion sizes were perfect. Only minor complaint would be the music ;)

From seating to using the QR code to order it was a good time. Getting parking at times is tough.. making it a daunting task at times to secure a spot.. but its jammed for great reason.

First time visiting. I thought the food was very good and came out fast. I was impressed by the use of a QR code on my phone to see menu and order items rather than use a shared tablet. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. My only issue is that parking is limited and small lot to maneuver. Worth the visit but something to keep in mind. I am sure to return as I was not able to sample many items on the menu as there was so much. Highly rated.

This was my first time at this location; I have been to Stoney Creek and Hamilton location before, but not this location. And I would say I was more happy with the food and service that I received. Their lunch menu is very limited, it doesn't even have much special roll options (like Green Dragon Roll). So, we had to switch to dinner menu and pay more. The rolls, dim sum, tempura that we ordered were delicious and made from fresh salmon and shrimp. But, I wasn't happy with the desserts; Tiramisu didn't taste good at all, but the ice cream was ok. The service was good, but if they could help with finding out how many items of our order is remaining to help us with our order it would be better. Also, it took a long time between our appetizers and sushi rolls to get ready.

Visited here for the first-time 4 years ago, pre-pandemic. After visiting again recently to taste the same great flavours, I was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, and would even check in to see how the table was doing, even if they weren't the waiter for the table. Seats are spread out in a safe way to give you privacy, but you can still enjoy the quiet conversation buzzing in the background, something I've missed hearing in the midst of the pandemic. The sushi and other cuisine is top-quality, and ensures there's something for everyone, whether you're the veteran sushi-bar goer, or someone that is still training to use your chopsticks. Fair pricing, awesome staff, and hands-down the best sushi I've ever had.

Paramount was one of our favourite locations and easy to do Lunches. I have taken countless colleagues and friends there for a great lunch and great value meal. The sushi is very good for an all you can eat, however still mid to mid high grade of sushi. (average). Dinners are to be desired, since cold sushi shouldn't be served on a hot plate fresh out of the dishwasher. This is NOT the reason for my review!!!!! After two years of referrals, the waitresses and manager knowing us by name, we had a mishap. A young new waitress spilled Saki all over my new MacBook, and the manager and myself tried to dry it and alcohol wipe it as best possible. Yes I feel bad for the waitress, unfortunate and accidental, however being the owner of a company with high risk I am accountable for all my employee actions and no matter how silly or stupid the accident I am accountable. The result..... a $2000 lost computer, $1800 in legal fees, time and forensics "and counting". I asked for just the cost of the computer and they denied me. Their offer $200, I've spent more than that there on one meal. Sick to my stomach because of owners like this!! Hats off to the manager who went to bat for me but I will not support this restaurant again unless they change their mind!!!!!!! Owners Sick Greedy People!!!!!

Love this place. I have never had an issue with the service. The food is great and made fresh, I have been at all the locations and always left with a great experience. It is not an upscale Beverly Hills restaurant so you need to adjust your expectations accordingly. For the price and quality, this is the best Japanese/Asian restaurants around in my humble opinion. Love the iPad ordering system too, it's so easy and convenient. We eat at August 8 once a month religiously.

I am a huge fan of August 8, but I hate having to hope and pray that everything will be okay. Often, you have to hunt a server down to get a refill on your drink. The last visit I had for dinner, my steak came out raw. When I showed the staff, they apologized and took it away. No one offered to remake it, or discount my bill, nothing. The customer service is absolutely garbage.

First time at this restaurant!!! Loved the food and the service was excellent! Pricier but you definitely get what you pay for. The food came out fairly quickly. Lots of variety and very fresh!! We would definitely recommend and would return. We made reservations and it is highly recommended.

I was so dissapointed tonight. The service was unacceptable. Our drinks took 20 minutes and we were the only table... The waitress took the blame and said she was the only one with smart serve, other waitresses stood around.... As a few more friends arrive, we start to order. Half our table never got their food... wondered if we forgot to send the order, but the waitress was able to bring it up in the order history - so half of us were done eating before the other half even started getting food (2 seperate i pads at table). Order was lost in space somewhere???? We specifically asked for the private room and were told it was unavailable. No one sat in there the entire time we were there. When I inquired, the waitress said they only open it on weekends. WTF is the difference?? Its 3 steps away from where we were. We get that table all the time during the week at lunch with no issues. We were forced to pay 18% gratuity on awful service and experience. Wont be back....

Absolutely horrible experience. Waited 45 min for apps. 25 min for sushi, couldn't find our server, never got refills on our drinks. After an hour sitting had only been given some edamame and spring rolls. And every bathroom was filthy and out of order

They seat you down. You have an iPad to place your orders. And it's all you can eat. They bring you what food is ready when it's ready. And it's all delicious.

Absolutely amazing here. I always make reservations as it's always busy with a line up out the door. Food comes out quickly except if it's really busy, but that's a given. I'm a regular at the Burlington location and always greeted by the staff.

While the food was decent, I have to say the service was pretty terrible... went for lunch today with my friend..we waited quite awhile to even be greeted (10 minutes). One steamed bun dessert took more than 15 minutes to be delivered to the table, it wasnt even that busy. The table across from us said they had waited 20 minutes for ice cream. Empty dishes were left on the tables for far too long.. drink refills were not prompt. Servers did not smile and were not pleasant. We had to ask 3x for our bill, as our 2x request through the tablet went ignored. Not cool August 8 Burlington, not cool.

I love sushi as does my 5 year old daughter , we have ate at the Burlington location multiple times and as time goes by I find the customer service gets worse and worse . Not all staff but some regular staff are rude and give customers attitude when serving , management is not that helpful or polite either. If you love August 8 the Stoney creek one is 10X better , customer service is way better and the atmosphere is much more enjoyable.

This was my second visit, and I am not a huge fan of sushi. I really enjoyed the sushi I had here. I also like the use of iPads to order your food. I will be coming back.

Overpriced, limited selection, clumsy staff spilled water on a member of our party and proceeded to walk away without an apology or even bringing extra napkins. Seems to me they think the tablets completely replace human interaction. I will not be returning to this restaurant again, extremely disappointed. Only came her because we received a gift card as a gift. Adami Sushi at Guelph Line and Upper Middle Rd is our usual spot, I recommend it to everyone!
