FOOD:
We had come here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon at around 12:30 pm. I had settled on the Bombay Express ($9.99), which included Butter Chicken (I had asked for this option as opposed to the Chana Masala), Rice, Naan, Dal, and Vegetable Samosa. My mother also had the Bombay Express ($9.99), with the same options that I had chosen, while my husband settled on the Lamb/Goat Curry ($12.99) with Rice, along with the Papri Chaat ($4.99) as an appetizer. My mother had also asked for a Masala Chai however, it had never arrived therefore, we weren’t charged for it.

The Papri Chaat came first, which was served on a small dish, with a small number of chips, with chickpeas, yogurt, tamarind, and other fixings served on top. The toppings were nice however, the chips weren’t as crunchy after about ten minutes of the dish having had sit there. Also, it seemed as though the chips were a bit too drenched in the yogurt, which made them taste a bit wet while eating. Once we had finished the Papri Chaat, our main dishes arrived rather quickly afterwards.

The Bombay Express came with two smaller round tins, one with the Butter Chicken, and the other with the Dal. I found that the Dal was a bit too spicy therefore, I focused on eating the Butter Chicken, which was absolutely divine; perfect amount of spice (quite mild), with excellent creaminess which hit the spot perfectly. The Rice on our dishes was just enough as the Naan was excellent; warm and crispy enough to dip in the Butter Chicken sauce.

The Vegetable Samosa that our meals came with was one of the best that I have ever tasted; a soft shell with crunchy edges, along with a soft inside which was hot (temperature-wise); it was also quite filling which was a great addition to our meals! My husband had mentioned that there were quite a number of items on the menu, which made it difficult to choose the item that he had wanted however, he did finish his Lamb/Goat Curry, which he said was pretty well-made.

ATMOSPHERE:
When we had walked into the restaurant, it was quite packed as it was the lunch hour however, there were still tables available. We were seated a table with a booth on one side and chairs on the other near the washroom area. The seating was comfortable, along with the nice décor of the paintings and statues in various areas around the restaurant. There were also intriguing light fixtures which dangled over some of the tables, along with a bar area upon first entering the restaurant; it definitely felt like an authentic Indian restaurant!

SERVICE:
When we had arrived, we were seated by the gentleman from behind the bar, whom also took our order. He was quite patient with us as we took our time deciding on our order, even offering my mother and I a substitution for the Chana Masala for the meals that we had ordered. Our food also arrived quite quickly, although our water glasses were not filled-up that fast as the servers didn’t come around to fill them as we were eating our meals. Also, my mother had to mention that her Masala Chai didn’t arrive however, there was no mention of it from the server or the gentleman whom had seated us. Overall, the service was pretty attentive most of the time, with just a few minor instances.

2 Bombay Express Lunch Specials ($9.99 Each) + 1 Lamb/Goat Curry Meal ($12.99) + 1 Papri Chaat ($4.99) = $37.96 + Taxes = $42.90

WOULD YOU RETURN?
We did find most of the food to be quite good therefore, I would return however, I would order something a little bit different as to try something new and to see if the same taste applies to all dishes.

Had a take out for lunch , was good quantity and yummy food. Surely a good decision if want to grab some indian cuisine in the area . Comes with nan bread and couple dishes n rice

Great service, best Indian food in town! Restaurant is very well decorated and clean. Our server had great recommendations and he was pretty funny! This restaurant appears to be a great place for take-out as well.

Arin from my office ordered from this place for a company lunch. The food was amazing. Indian food in Burlington can be a real hit and miss however this place hit a home run. It was fresh and delicious. The whole team loved it. The fish was the best I have had. So as you can tell I liked it a lot and will be pushing to get more catering from this place or maybe we will do a company dinner there. I can tell the ownership focuses on quality so good job Bombay grill. I hope the next time I have it it will be just as good and it was not just a one off but I have hope. Thanks for the great lunch!!

i ordered from this place chicken tikka masala with garlic naan it was good taste naan was really good overall good experience and service was good and too i think its really nice if they gave you something complimentary like vinegar onion or pickle or salad😀😀😀😀😀

Food is always amazing! Ambience is also very nice. The restaurant is usually busy and they have their lights on. However, due to covid it was dark and very quiet to dine-in. I highly recommend their paneer sizzler - it is absolutely to die for!

The food was absolutely fantastic, totally exceeded our expectations. The waiter and owner we're extremely helpful and it was a place I'd recommend highly. It's not a fancy restaurant, but you definitely get a great meal.
