Review Viet Thai Basil - Brantford

Azim Hoque
The stop looks sketchy on the outside, and not most tidy on inside either. Service was good, polite and fast. Not very impressed with the taste of the food, we ordered the tomyum and it was watery & flat tasting. Though had massive portions and decent price.

I will order the rare beef pho every time. Now I found the new food, spicy shrimp pho. I like rice noodles very much. Not wide also not much. Meanwhile, soup is really delicious.

Pho is definitely one of the best I ever have in Canada. The price is reasonable, the portion of pho is big. Though I don't live in Brantford, I will come here frequently for the pho.

No fuss no muss casual dining place. Good place to enjoy a good bowl pho. Good place for a solo lunch.

We love the Pho here. We don't even live in Brantford anymore but always stop in when we are.

Best place to enjoy vietnamese in brantford. Family owned and operated. Incredible people and amazing food.

Everything here is great, (the beef pho, sizzling plate, red curry and hot&sour tom yum being some of my/the family's favs) but the fresh spring rolls are the crowning jewel of this place for sure, other than the fantastic service of course! I know that they're only a side dish item but I have straight up never had better fresh spring rolls in my life. I now live in mississauga and try time and time again to find somewhere that'll match up and nowhere comes even close. The peanut sauce that they come with too is just- Wow. Cures a hangover in no time. So good.

I don't know who wrote these reviews, but I was there on a Saturday night. Ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. The bizarre creation they call pad thai is something I've never seen and it was bland and well just not good. Once my food was dropped off I didn't see a waitress again until I was about to leave. I think they were too busy taking care of a crying baby in the back. I had to get up and flag down someone to pay as did another couple that was there.
Not worth 1 star, but there isn't anything lower.
Not worth the money or time.
I would never go there again or recommend it to anyone.

This restaurant has a good location, the staff are very friendly and the food is amazing. I've been a few times with family and friends and each time has never led me to be disappointed. Affordable prices as well as generous portions. The shrimp pad Thai is simply amazing. Always looking forward to going here again.

Just tried this place for the first time after reading other reviews and it was fantastic! Had take-out and the pad Thai was the best I've ever had! They were super busy but food was ready on time, fresh, piping hot and delicious! Can't wait to try it again.

I've been here more times than I can count. They have a varied menu but I love the Pho so much that I've never actually ordered anything else, but if the Pho is any indication, it's all great.
The Pho is consistent, delicious, and fresh always. The staff is always extremely friendly and will recognize regulars, which I always like.

The pork rolls and avocado shakes are addictive. The combination platters have plenty of food at a great price. The pho is delicious. I am a regular here!

It has been some time since I have tasted Asian food as delicious as what we had last Saturday evening when I took my dear wife out for supper after Mass, I asked My wife where she would like to go and she wasn't particular so I said I feel like some Vietnamese food, so we ended up at this place and we sure are not sorry we did, the food was excellent, the prices are great, and the family owned and operated business was so friendly we felt like home, needless to say we will be going back in the very near future, I am getting hungry just thinking about the food we had, I had the Thia Style Sizzling Plate (Beef Spicy) and my wife had a Combination (Com Phan) and all was Excellent and very Quick.

We have been going here almost weekly since it opened several years ago. We have never had a bad meal. We actually crave the Tom Yam soup and the curry is incredible. The family that runs it is lovely and they are always friendly and ready to please. Brantford has a real gem here!

I love this place & love the people that work here! I've only ever had the pho and the spring rolls, but keep coming back for it. Wish the place had a little more ambiance, but I'm so happy that this exists here in town.

I love this restaurant. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The service is lovely and I love that this restaurant is family owned and run. The spring rolls were the best I've ever tasted. I even like the simple décor. The only thing I would change would be to soften the lighting - it is a fairly harsh fluorescent. But that won't be enough to keep me away!

I love this place. Brantford hardly has any authentic and cultured places like this. I am never disappointed when I go, the food is always on par and the staff are quick and super nice.

Rude staff.. The food is okay but the service is so horrendous I would seriously suggest going anywhere else. Don't even try to ask for anything else or complain if something is wrong because you will get yelled at and ganged up on by the whole staff.

Awful. DO NOT EAT HERE! awful thai food, no peanut sauce, bought 2 pad thais, took one bite and threw them straight in the garbage

Delicious pho and other Asian specialties. Tonight, on a freezing cold night, we enjoyed a huge takeout order of a XXLarge pho with an order of deep fried and cold spring rolls stuffed with shrimp. An absolutely tasty and nourishing dinner (healthy too) for under $20. We visit regularly in-house for pho and other specialties, like stir fries or specialty soups. The pho is our favourite, with rare beef and always come with savoury broth, rice noodles, beef as well as a bowl heaped high with bean sprouts, basil leaves, and lime wedges. Not to be missed!

Sizzling Plate. Thai style chicken, or beef , or shrimp stir-fried with assorted peppers, onion and pineapple on the sizzling plate

Best food in brantford. We eat here often. We both order a medium Pho with rare beef. We are stuffed for under $20! And it tastes amazing!!! Go try it.

Hands down, the best Pad Thai I've ever had. The hot and sour soup was excellent aswell! The portions were big enough for 2!
Fast delivery, and the food was very hot and fresh. Closed Mondays which is a bummer! Owner can modify menu items to fit your dietary needs.
Our #1 choice for Thai in town.

Best restaurant I have been to in a long while. My dad and I were in Branford for a swim meet. We were originally gonna go to Swiss Chalet when we saw this place. We did not regret it.

The food here was absolutely spot on. We had the chicken curry and chicken lemongrass. It was so tasty that even though we were so full from the meal, we had to have more. We ended up splitting the pad thai at it was also delicious. Those cold spring rolls are the best and the customer service was amazing!!!! The people who owned it were the nicest ppl (compared to folks in Toronto)! I would definitely go here over anything other place plus it was much cheaper than anything I would get at Swiss Chalet.

This restaurant was the highlight of the trip and I would come back in heart beat next time I visited.

Awsome. The rare beef pho soup saves my boyfriend's life every time he has the flu.
It is an amazing tasting soup, I'm not kidding, I get the soup when he's sick and it cures him within hours.
The plants in the restaurant are amazing. The food is fresh and the service the best in Brantford.

The food was great and cheap, place is a little old but at 6 dollars for a main course that you have to take the leftovers home makes it great
Angie
So good! The shrimp spring roll things are amazing, the pho is very good, and their combo platters are great!

Love it!. One of our favourite local restaurants!
Small, family-owned and friendly, the food is tasty, the staff is terrific, and the prices are very reasonable.
Another reviewer said it was 'dirty' but I disagree 100%.
Very basic decor, but always absolutely clean.

Love!. I signed up to urbanspoon just to rebut a negative review. Yes, the restaurant is a little dated but the food makes up for it. It does take a bit of time to get the food but that is because they are preparing everything fresh to order - waiting ten minutes or fifteen minutes is not a hardship, I think we have our expectations a little off. Long story short - the food is delightful. It is flavourful, lots of nice veggies, amazing flavour combinations, and the staff are always very friendly.

Amazing Pho. The beef pho is amazing here. I have moved 4 hours away and make an effort to stop in as much as possible. I order the beef well done with no onions and extra lime. Every time I visit I receive friendly service and they remember how I order the soup. My boyfriend enjoys their crispy spring roles and pad thai. They are willing to make changes to suit your tastes. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Vietnamese or Thai food.

Food Not Good. We decided to give this place a try as we drive by it often. When we walked in, the place itself wasn't very well decorated. There were tons of plants all over the place, and there were dirty dishes left on tables for quite a while. We chose our table and were given menus right away. We were asked what we wanted to drink and we both agreed on water. The water came about 3 minutes later in red plastic cups. I was disappointed to see them in plastic cups, I would hope they would have been in glasses. We ordered our meal and waited patiently. The place iself seemed quite old, the floor was dirty and the tables were cluttered with sauces, chopsticks, and other items. The crispy vegetable rolls arrived first. They were pretty good, nice and crunchy. After about 10 minutes, our pad thai arrived. The beef pad thai was not good, there was way too much sauce and the beef was in huge chunks, it wasn't cut up. The vegetables were overcooked and lacked flavour. The chicken pad thai was a bit better but not by much. The service also seemed scattered; there were two servers who looked like they were cooking and serving at the same time. The only good thing about this place were the prices; the prices were pretty good; for two of us, it was only $21. Wouldn't come back only because the food was below average and the atmosphere was nothing to rave about.
