Review On The Lam Restaurant - Brantford

Tiny but mighty! I will keep recommending On The Lam to anyone looking for a very special little place with excellent food. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner or just cocktails. Yes it leans toward the higher end cost wise but it sooooo worth it! Feels like a secret little find. Food and drink and service are all superb!

Best steak I’ve ever had the Japanese wagyu was amazing, also the boneless buffalo wings are fantastic. Grant makes the best cocktails! Overall 10/10 restaurant.

I visited On The Lam once, and have day-dreamed about the spot ever since. The quality of the service, the finessing of flavour, the intimate vibe... My fiancé and I ordered 5 menu items and 4 drinks total, and paid around $100. The cost was astounding considering how heart-stoppingly yummy the plates were. We will be back once this dang pandemic allows!

Great food, great service, great ambiance. We enjoyed everything: oysters, wine, steak, side dishes and dessert. Judging by the number of plates of puffed potatoes that were being served at other tables, we have to come back and give them a try also. Otherwise, I'd order the exact same meal again and again, it was perfect.

Tried On the Lam last night after multiple people told me it was the best restaurant in Brantford. It was SO GOOD! Every bite we looked at each other and nodded our heads in awe of the yumminess. Will be going back 100percent and cannot wait to eat inside. Looked so cute and hip inside.

Wonderful dining experience. If you are in Brantford you need to come by and try the food.

Food and service was amazing! Serving staff was able to guide to an awesome bottle of wine that paired perfectly with dinner. Only tweak we wished we could see was a basket of warm bread, maybe some olive oil and vinegar.... or option to purchase some.

AMAZING food and staff! I called last minute to see if there was availability for my anniversary and Grant worked things around so we were able to come in! Did not disappoint as food was so fresh, and drinks were deliciously hand crafted before our eyes 😍 thank you!!

I really wanted to like this restaurant, and as a preface, the food was actually really tasty. But the service was *terrible*. The deepfryer broke while we were there, but we weren't told about it until after we'd been waiting an hour for even just our appetizers. We had even ordered raw oysters, which could have been served first, but that didn't happen. We ended up waiting 2 hours for all of our food to arrive, all at different times. At no point were we offered free drinks, or bread, or an appetizer on the house as compensation for the insane wait, nor were we really kept up to date on the time it was going to take for our food. After we finished, a couple people in our party talked to the chef/owner and our waitress, but the response was very uncaring and rude. Not to mention they also ran out of a menu option that we'd ordered a few plates of, so we only got 2 orders of them instead of 4. I understand that a deepfryer breaking is not something you can predict and it's not their fault either, but keeping your customers in the dark until they're hangry, and not offering an out, or compensation is bad management.

we were exceptionally well cared for, from Grant the owner (who bussed our table no less!) to our very knowledgeable server, whom i certainly trust to suggest wine with meal... so glad i succumbed and ordered the tenderloin after all... the dish of mushrooms was the perfect side :)

We went for our anniversary dinner and everything was amazing! Great atmosphere, amazing service and to die for food! Shrimp tacos, buttered shrimp, 16oz aged steak, 8oz tenderloin, puff potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, key lime pie, cheese cake and toffee dessert! Now I'm hungry again!

Been a few times, food is always amazing and cooked perfectly. We always recommend to friends & family. Also love our favourite server Kat!!

Been a few times and we were never disappointed. Great staff and excellent food cooked to perfection. It's our go to spot for our special occasions. Keep up the great work ladies and gents! ;)

Incredible food and staff. A little gem of a restaurant, more like a culinary experience!! . Always on point.... with the owners present all the time and super entertaining staff.

Best place in Brantford. The food is outstanding, service is great and wonderful atmosphere. Won't go anywhere else for a steak now.

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary here tonight. The food was amazing and we didn't feel rushed, which is a pet peeve of mine. We got to enjoy the appetizer and our wine before the entrees were served. The steaks were done perfectly and the sides were awesome. The key lime pie was great as well. A great place for a wonderful meal!!! Love it!

My husband and I love this place! Unique food menu executed to perfection, great cocktails too! Definitely need reservations, small, quaint, cozy atmosphere with great service! Our little secret place to go:)

This is our favourite place in Brantford (and quite possibly anywhere!!) The food and atmosphere is spectacular, if you are near Brantford and you're in search of somewhere awesome this is where you need to go!

I don't even know what to say. I've been twice. Duck the first time and chicken the second, crisp maple bacon, Brussels sprouts and beet roots for apps ... Again I don't know what to say. So lucky to have this in Brantford.  Small and off the beaten path but a must visit for any one in 100 miles that enjoys great food, good atmosphere , lovely staff and a well stocked bar.  would highly suggest anything that is on menu at the time you go and if the puffy potatoes are there... just think like potatoes and clouds had a little fried baby.  absolutely exceptional

This is a hidden gem and Brantford is lucky to have this great eating spot. I live in Santa Fe, NM, a foodie hotspot, and 'On The Lam' is definitely on par. Great cocktails, well prepared, and presented, entrees, and creative desserts. Come on Brantford, keep 'On The Lam' thriving!

Amazing food. On the lam is great, the staff was cool and the drinks and food were amazing. I had the mussels, Brussels sprouts, potato puffs and the lamb everything was cooked perfectly

Excellent all around experience. Went for dinner last night, excellent experience from start to finish. Bubbly wait staff, interesting, tasty dishes, good quantities and reasonable prices. Had the pickles & olives app, chicken breast, beef tenderloin, toffee and smores for dessert. Will be back! One complaint, the music was too loud...

Must try!. Best meal in town. Creative and delicious. Bar also fantastic. Foodie. To be honest ........ I was a little taken back by the price. Great steak ,cooked to perfection, but no side what so ever just a hunk of beef presented in a sauce.
