Review Baker's Jerk House - Brampton

My search for a good jerk chicken place is over. This place IS IT! The best!!! I have not eating such good jerk chicken in years. The chicken is fresh, flavourful yet not too spicy juicy and most of all it tastes like it was cooked on fire and has a hint of smoke and a bit of char (which is what I have been missing)! The rice and peas was also tasty and tender and oxtail gravy was thick and flavourful. Macaroni and coleslaw are also tasty and fresh.

One of the better Jerk chickens I've had. Not spicy but just the right amount of sweetness. It also had a nice smokey taste to it. Chicken was very tender and flavorful. I got the Large Jerk Chicken meal, rice and peas with oxtail gravy and pasta salad on the side. Lady at the front was nice. I will definitely be back 5/5

The jerk chicken is smokey and sweet, and it falls right off the bone. The pasta salad and rice and peas with oxtail gravy go perfectly with the chicken. Get hot sauce on the side for those who like it spicy. This has been my go-to spot for jerk chicken for many years, the quality of the food is consistent especially for the price!

The food was amazing. The girls working here make you feel like home. The chicken has a unique grill flavor. I been at other locations with similar food and non has that flavor. I don't know how they got that touch but was amazing. Price is good.

Came across this place by fluke. Was headed somewhere else and it was closed for reno, so I decided to look what else was around and found Bakers. I ordered the Jerk chicken with peas and rice. They also included a choice of coleslaw, steam veg or garden salad so I figured I'd try the salad. Chicken was top notch - juicy, tender and flavourful. They added a little sauce on it with a brush which was different but very tasty. The rice was also great, not dry like some places... Extra oxtail gravey as always! Portions were above average and price was more than fair. Staff were pleasant and made sure the to-go bag had everything I needed to enjoy their dish. I've already told my friends about this spot and look forward to my next visit. I'll probably try the oxtail dinner next!

My friend, and I entered the restaurant I was impressed with the decor the counter tops were classy, the light fixtures elegant, the floors nice, the seating area very posh, and rich not to leave out the business card that says classy, rich , sophisticated. I was wow 🤩. The service was A1. The girl at the cash was polite, approachable, and showed excellent customer service. My friend ordered jerk chicken he was pleased. I ordered curry goat the cook knocked it out of the park. I had to go back the same day, and tried the king fish, it was perfecto 😁 The only thing I would have loved to see was an outdoor patio to finish it off. Just saying. Beautiful business neighborhood, pretty restaurant setting could pass for a five star restaurant. 👍👍 . Go experience Bakers Jerk House for yourself 😃

My service experience was great, the lady that served me was awesome well mannered, polite and remember my order with ease after serving me once. I heard someone called her Roxanne. Everyone there should offer the same quality service. Great food t but the customer service must always be best.

There is no question about it. This is the greatest jerk chicken in all of Brampton, possibly all of Ontario to be honest. I've shared this spot with all my friends, especially my Jamaican friends and they have all agreed. Bakers jerk is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to flavour. 10/10 the most amazing jerk I've ever had . As always you'll have to be patient or call ahead.

Finger lickin good. Literally. Tender chicken, savoury oxtail gravy, and succulent past salad. It’s 4:44am and I’m up thinking about this food. That should say enough.

Amazing Jamaican food. Bakers jerk house's food is always amazing in tasting, the service there is great and friendly and it's clean and nice looking inside. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone looking for quality Jamaican food!

So good. Awesome service and food tastes great. My favourite is they sell chicken breasts!! No other Caribbean restraunt sells that. I am super happy about that

1st time!! 3/5Stars. I tried their fry chicken today first time ever going to this restaurant.. It smelt GREAT when i walked on in, the chicken itself wasn't that great, probably 3/5 stars. Not sure if I'll be giving them another shot

I love Jamaican food!!!!!!. Funny I had curry chicken & rice and peas today at Portland Jerk at Torbram & Queen. I have driven by Bakers and always wondered what it was like but I'm a real staple and loyal consumer. Bakers is actually closer to my house and my sister in Quebec City knows how much I love Jamaican food and sent me the link today. I will definatley try it now that I hear so many good things in the reviews looking forward to it!!!

Best Jamaican food I ever had. I've been to several Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants but this is by very far the best. I had the Jerk chicken with rice and beans, and I never had chicken that was that moist and with the perfect seasoning before. No wonder they've won awards for their food...

DA BEST IN BRAMPTON. Shout out bakers jerk house for standing tall all these years n really stayin consistent with everything they do. I am an employee at Bakers and I am very proud to be apart of the organization, but there is something I got to address. everything is not made for everyone to like so with that being said ignorance n hatred does not bother us at all, this message is also in regards to Jess that left a comment a little further down about the chicken having no FLAVOR***** and the rice having no seasoning and all that....First of all how can u diss someone that does so much for the community n has so much compassion for what they do but u come on here, leave your obstructed ignorance but you can't even spell properly lol there's a big problem right there you gotta go back to school with that being said numbers don't lie 7 years n running salute #BAKERS nuff love

These reviews have to be written by friends and family of bakers jerk. I literally have never written a review in my life but after just ordering from there I feel the urgent need to. The service was horrible, walked in wasn't greeted by anyone. Even tho multiple people kept walking past. Finally 10 mins later someone asked if we've been helped. <br/><br/>So I order half jerk half fry chicken with rice n peas with oxtail gravy. Got the pasta salad. My rice is WHITE, with maybe 15 peas in my whole dish. The rice is not seasoned. Doesn't even taste like it has salt. The jerk chicken taste like it was rubbed with pre made jerk marinade and cooked right away. The favours are not in the chicken meat, barely even into the skin. No spice no heat. Bland. Very bland. And the fry? I've had a lot batter. So disappointed. Is is DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST Jamaican food in Ontario as someone else stated. Nor in the GTA. Do not insult Jamaican food like this please.

The food is delicious. Baker's Jerk has the most delicious Jamaican food I've had in Ontario. I find that the food is always well seasoned and tastes just like back home in Jamaica. I would say it's my home away from home. Bakers Jerk House is # one

Ive been to other places in brampton and toronto for jerk and caribbean food, but Bakers is consistently amazing. Their Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Fried Chicken, Curry Goat, and everything else is JUST DOPE. But one thing that really makes a difference is that they are very friendly, especially compared to other take out places ive been. Support good local food and eat here! <br/><br/>Large Fried Chicken with their amazing sauce, and pasta salad.

Another GTA "so so" Jerk restaurant. If you're looking for whitewashed Jerk style ala Swiss Chalet, then this is your place. Lite on the seasoning and seems to be excessive use of sugar. Perhaps I'm jaded after tasting Boston Jerk, where it all started. Most GTA jerk restaurants are a dissapointment. They cater to jafaken's who can't handle pepper. I would say Bakers seasoning is above average but it's not spicy at all. The homemade pepper sauce is good, So make sure u get some to make this worth the visit.

Worst food ever. After a recommendation from a friend I made a special trip to this restaurant.........WORST food ever. No flavour, not seasoned.......I bought 1 jerk chicken and 1 oxtail. The chicken was not cooked all the way through as the meat was still pink. The oxtail was undercooked and tasted like stewed chicken......not even salt or pepper helped this meal. I ate it however as it cost me $20. Needless to say I will not recommend nor visit this establishment EVER!!!!!!!!!!

We had a last minute order of 10lbs of Jerk Chicken, not only did they make it happen within a couple of hours, it was definitely the juiciest chicken I've had in a long time. It was a huge hit at our Company holiday potluck. I'll be back for sure!<br/><br/>Keep up the good work!

My first choice when I feel for some good oxtail.. The food is very flavourful and the owner is a nice guy. Easily the best jerk spot around. .

Nice find. After the many good reviews and since they are only a few blocks away I decided to give them a shot. I am really torn (for a favorite jerk place) but was great food. I tried the curry goat, which is my 'go to' dish from this type place. The taste was great with a very fresh scotch bonnet taste but not that spicy...but I like spicy so that isn't saying it's mellow. The meat was extremely tender which is a must for my goat. My usual spot has a small for $5 but it is a bit more than half the size of Baker's small which was $10. Having said that Baker's small had about the same amount of meat as my usual spot's large. Service was good and friendly. I will definitely be eating at Baker's again and again.

Best Jerk chicken around. I have been going to Baker's Jerk house for a couple years now. I travel the world for my work and I look forward to visiting Baker's Jerk House every single time I get home. This is the best Jerk chicken period. I have tried jerk chicken from many places, but no place else is consistently as good when it comes to quality and taste of the food. If you haven't visited here yet, be sure to! Don't forget the pasta salad, its amazing. To the owners Kirk & Diane... Keep it up... can't imagine a world without this restaurant...

Corporate Catering - June 7, 2013. Baker's Jerk House provided the catering for 60 people for a corporate BBQ lunch. The food was fantastic and the service was warm and friendly, served with a smile. BY FAR THE BEST Caribbean food spot in Brampton, and probably the best in the whole GTA. Kirk's passion and kindness really shows in the quality and quantity of his food. Not only that, but he is an amazing influence on our community and our youths. Someone like this isn't found in the food industry that often, so I felt like he deserves to have a review that compliments his work and personality. Baker's Jerk House has truly become a Brampton legend and a sign of hope for Bramptonians to follow their passion. Here's hoping all the best towards Kirk, his family, and the Baker's Jerk House family. And that he some day his Baker's name will be nationally known. I'm a regular customer at Bakers Jerk House. Living in the area for almost 24 years, it's nice to have a place I can go to that makes me feel welcome and remembered as a regular. I never go anywhere else for my jerk chicken, rice & peas, and the AMAZING pasta salad that you honestly cannot find anywhere else. Definitely a place to keep in mind if you want a memorable experience for food and service. Thanks K, D and your staff for everything!

After having Gem's "jerk" chicken, I knew I had to instantly find something better and in Brampton the options are limited. However, I found Baker's Jerk House. Needless to say I've moved from Brampton but I always find my way back. Keep up the good work K&D.<br/>-Tristan

Good Food, Good Service. I decided to try Baker's Jerk after my horrible experience at Gem's House of Jerk up the road. I'm happy I did, I got the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas. Was definitely worth the money. Good sized portions, seasoned well. Chicken was moist and not dry. Don't be turned off by it's "hole in the wall" appearance, it's a good spot.

The one thing that threw me off was that they asked if I wanted ‘Greens’ with the rice. I was expecting coleslaw and the salad was just kind’ve tossed on top but the chicken was good. The rice a bit crunchy but it was late in the afternoon so I can understand if it was sitting around for a little bit. But the chicken was GOOD!
