FOOD:
We had come here for dinner on a Thursday night at around 7:00 pm for New Year’s Eve. We hadn’t made a reservation however, we only had to wait about 15 minutes before we were given a table, which was well-worth it. Once we had sat down, we were pleasantly surprised to notice how much food was available to eat. There were multiple buffet stations, each one boasting a multitude of food items, such as fish (crab legs, mussels, oysters, squid, etc.), sushi (maki, rolls, and other fixings), soup (a variety of soups available) pasta (tortellini, ravoli, etc.), hot items (ribs, chicken legs, corn, quiche, pizza, spring rolls, etc.), and dessert (ice cream, cakes, pies, tarts, etc.)
We have been to many buffets before however, this one truly hit the spot as there were items I had never seen at other buffets before. My husband had mentioned that the variety of fish available was worth more than the price that we had paid ($32.99/person). There was also a woman at the ice cream station, handing the ice cream flavour to you personally, along with a ton of candy toppings available for the ice cream itself. Many of the items were placed in closed burners, which made them taste even more delicious when taken out. It seemed as though there was food in every corner of the buffet, which made it difficult to choose what to eat as there was SO much available!
I had chosen a variety of items to try, such as bread, pasta, potatoes, dumplings, fries, sushi, and of course, a multitude of dessert items. I did find that some of the items (such as the pasta, potatoes, etc.) were a bit cold when I had received them. They looked to be hot when I had picked them up however, they were not as hot once I had bitten into them. However, the taste of the items were pretty good considering they had so much of it. I have to commend the restaurant on their sushi, it was actually very delicious, and there were a number of different rolls available (e.g. I had one that had apple and cucumber in it, very delicious). I found that care was taken into preparing the rolls, which turned out to be better than expected.
I also truly enjoyed the dessert station, one of the biggest that I have ever set my eyes on in a buffet. There was one whole side dedicated to cakes (e.g. tiramisu, cheesecake, cupcakes, etc.), while another side had a variety of tarts, pies, and ice cream toppings. I do know that the desserts were not handmade however, I was impressed with how much variety was available, and actually, how delicious most of it tasted. I also loved the ice cream wheel, which was a first for me in all of the buffets that I have ever been to. Definitely the best dessert station from any buffet that I have ever been to, hands down!
ATMOSPHERE:
Since we had come here on New Year’s Eve, it was quite busy, with people walking up and down to the buffet station. Luckily, we were sitting near the back of one of the dining rooms, therefore, there were hardly any people walking by our table per se. Although, we did have to walk a bit further to get up to the buffet station. Once we had gotten to the buffet station, we didn’t have to wait long to get our food items as the items continued to appear on the serving tables at a fast pace. I did like the wallpaper on the walls of this buffet though, which made it appealing when looking at it. Definitely a very nice set-up for the buffet though, and it was MUCH larger than I had expected!
SERVICE:
When we had arrived at the restaurant, there were two woman at the front whom were taking down the names of the guests arriving. They seemed friendly considering that they were quite busy with customers coming in quite frequently. Once we were seated at the table, we went straight to the buffet station as we were quite hungry. Throughout our time at the restaurant, we had noticed that two different servers had come to our table to collect our dishes and to fill our water glasses. Both of them were very polite and courteous, but not pushy at all. We were pleasantly surprised at how relaxed we felt at this buffet, definitely a great atmosphere to be in! We didn’t feel rushed to finish which was a plus as some buffets try to have you leave as quickly as possible in order for new customers to arrive. Great service all around!
COST:
2 Adult Buffet Dinners (Holiday Pricing): $32.99/person = $74.56 (taxes included)
WOULD YOU RETURN?
Absolutely! Although some of the food items that I had received were not as hot (temperature-wise) as I would have liked them to be, I truly enjoyed how many items were available, along with the great service and atmosphere, all for a reasonable price.
