It’s been years since I’ve been to a traditional buffet, where there are food stations to select to your heart’s content. As a child, we’d visit them for large family dinners - our parents were glad there were enough options to satisfy picky tastes and we could leave the table to walk around without them being judged. Somehow, we stopped going as my cousins and I became better behaved and our parents’ appetites shrunk.

Hence when Spoonful invited me out to try their buffet and my eyes swept across all the food, a pang of nostalgia ran through me. The layout feels familiar - the buffet area in the middle with various rooms of seating surrounding it – but the amount of choices were remarkable, figuring out where to start can be a challenge!

There’s of course an array of salads, but I steer clear of these at all costs. There’s no way I’m filling up on salad, even if there is an area that you can customize with Japanese cold noodles, edamame, and more. Soups are kept in domed heated pots that give an intergalactic feel to the restaurant - I was a tad disappointed that there wasn’t my go-to hot and sour soup, but there was lobster bisque, Chinese bone broth, mock shark fin, and wonton.

Beside all this was a sushi bar that had SO many maki, sushi, and sashimi choices. As pretty as they are to look at, sushi is never good at buffets… sitting on ice causes the rice to get hard and dry. A piece of dynamite roll confirmed my suspicions. But boy,

A great selection for seafood lovers. Sushi and Sashimi which were super tasty with spicy sauce, a great assortment of fresh fish too! Lobsters were well prepared and served hot. They have a fair variety of Asian food served hot and which is relishing. A huge desert selection which looked endless to me. Plenty of space. Nice ambiance and decor. Parking is free and space is available. Definitely a place to come again and again.

We got seated right away in one of the main dining rooms — this place is huge! We took a stroll along the food aisles first and I was so amazed with the selection and gorgeous ways that everything was displayed! I was so excited too since everything seemed so dazzling.

Came here with my family last evening for dinner. Started off with the lobster bisque soup and sushi appetizers. They worked as real appetizers. Spoonful has a big buffet with lots of choices. Seafood, fish, meats, poultry, vegetables, fruits and everything in between. Large selection of sweets & deserts. The dessert stations go on and on, wide selection enjoyed the mousse and ice cream. Good place for dinner with or without family. Service was good and prices are reasonable.

I was pleasantly surprised at the amount and variety of food at this place. Notably, there was salmon sashimi, spinach quiches, a chocolate fountain, make your own pasta bar, escargot tarts, a candy bar in addition to the regular fixings of a normal buffet. The place is quite attractive and nicely laid out, with a huge selection of roasted and grilled items to sushi and sashimi to custom Pad Thai stir-fry. Seafood lovers would get the most out of this place.
Will surely be back during the coming holidays.

A happy place with happy Asian food. The soup that I ordered was warm / cold, but definitely not hot. The service takes time, but the food is surely tasty and worth this price point. Friendly staff and good service.

Excellent variety of sushi, much better than most oriental buffets. Cold salads and seafood options were plentiful, including many options I had not seen in similar restaurants. Tons of hot foods as well. We were impressed by the variety and quality of everything we tried. Many options for vegetarians and those who eat fish but no meat. And there's so much, it was impossible to try everything. Huge selection of desserts - after selecting our desserts in one display, we realised there was a whole other display with different options on the other side of the room. Great ice cream options too.  A little bit of annoyance we came across which you would encounter at any restaurant.  However, the food experience was very good and we're looking forward to returning.

I went to Spoonful for the first time with three friends, just a few weeks ago. In short, I would say that it was overall a good experience, with a buffet that had lots of variety, tasty options, good service, and reasonably priced. I'll gladly go again, hoping I time my arrival to the restaurant when the oysters are available. I liked the discounts they give for senior citizens. I also liked the  interiors and the ambiance.

Best night out ever during fall break in Toronto this year!!! We got a table right away, ordered crab legs, shrimps and mussel, had a blast with friends!! The seafood rice was also great. The taste was extraordinary! And I kept eating until I couldn't stuff even a bit down my stomach any more! The staffs were really helpful , friendly and down to earth! Totally fell in love with this place will definitely try it out again in the future! This is a place for you to have a great night with friends and family!!!

My friends took me here while I was in town. Hands down the best International Buffet I have had in Toronto as of late. The place is massive, modern and clean. When I stepped the restaurant, I felt right at home seeing so many other Chinese people dining here. One thing is if there are a lot of Chinese people at a Buffet, there's a good indication that the buffet has a lot of seafood offerings and/or value proposition. And that assumption was true. The Seafood station was loaded with fresh shrimp, mussels, whelks, octopus, and crab legs. Those were all cold offerings. On the hotplates side, there were scallops and other cooked seafood offerings. Unfortunately, I missed the weekend in town - I heard they had oysters too during those days... Admittedly I didn't try everything and mostly went for the pricier stuff like the seafood. They had a pretty large selection of sushi and sashimi as well. Sashimi was fresh. They also had smoked salmon and smoked duck breast... Both were awesome, and were not overly salty like many other places. They also had lobster bisque which was alright, but could barely taste lobster. They have a massive dessert station that is split up into 2 sections. They had soft-serve and hard ice creams as well as a wide selection of cakes/pastries/pies. Soft-serve was runny, not sure if they had just restocked it and it needed more time to freeze up. Hard ice cream was great, my faves were the pistachio, and cookies & cream.  I had a great experience. The next time I'm in town, I'll definitely be back - hopefully on a weekend. Was very happy. Not including the beers we had, each person came out with a bill of just over $32 on a Thursday night (tip included).  I would go as far as to say that this place is the closest thing in Canada to a Vegas style buffet. If you are looking for an international buffet that offers higher quality items without breaking the bank, this is the place to be. I would recommended this buffet without a doubt.

I had lunch with my family here for a special occasion and it was superb! I must say that they have a good variety of food and anyone who visits will surely enjoy. If your looking for pastas, seafoods, sushi, chinese food and canadian food this is the place to be! Lunch Buffet is the best because you get it for a cheaper price of $16.99 other time slots like dinner would cause you much but if its for two people $25.99 each wont hurt. And you get unlimited drinks for around $2.50 (Applies to soda only) Hope you guys visit this amazing buffet place! It's worth of a drive. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

FOOD:
We had come here for dinner on a Thursday night at around 7:00 pm for New Year’s Eve. We hadn’t made a reservation however, we only had to wait about 15 minutes before we were given a table, which was well-worth it. Once we had sat down, we were pleasantly surprised to notice how much food was available to eat. There were multiple buffet stations, each one boasting a multitude of food items, such as fish (crab legs, mussels, oysters, squid, etc.), sushi (maki, rolls, and other fixings), soup (a variety of soups available) pasta (tortellini, ravoli, etc.), hot items (ribs, chicken legs, corn, quiche, pizza, spring rolls, etc.), and dessert (ice cream, cakes, pies, tarts, etc.)

We have been to many buffets before however, this one truly hit the spot as there were items I had never seen at other buffets before. My husband had mentioned that the variety of fish available was worth more than the price that we had paid ($32.99/person). There was also a woman at the ice cream station, handing the ice cream flavour to you personally, along with a ton of candy toppings available for the ice cream itself. Many of the items were placed in closed burners, which made them taste even more delicious when taken out. It seemed as though there was food in every corner of the buffet, which made it difficult to choose what to eat as there was SO much available!

I had chosen a variety of items to try, such as bread, pasta, potatoes, dumplings, fries, sushi, and of course, a multitude of dessert items. I did find that some of the items (such as the pasta, potatoes, etc.) were a bit cold when I had received them. They looked to be hot when I had picked them up however, they were not as hot once I had bitten into them. However, the taste of the items were pretty good considering they had so much of it. I have to commend the restaurant on their sushi, it was actually very delicious, and there were a number of different rolls available (e.g. I had one that had apple and cucumber in it, very delicious). I found that care was taken into preparing the rolls, which turned out to be better than expected.

I also truly enjoyed the dessert station, one of the biggest that I have ever set my eyes on in a buffet. There was one whole side dedicated to cakes (e.g. tiramisu, cheesecake, cupcakes, etc.), while another side had a variety of tarts, pies, and ice cream toppings. I do know that the desserts were not handmade however, I was impressed with how much variety was available, and actually, how delicious most of it tasted. I also loved the ice cream wheel, which was a first for me in all of the buffets that I have ever been to. Definitely the best dessert station from any buffet that I have ever been to, hands down!

ATMOSPHERE:
Since we had come here on New Year’s Eve, it was quite busy, with people walking up and down to the buffet station. Luckily, we were sitting near the back of one of the dining rooms, therefore, there were hardly any people walking by our table per se. Although, we did have to walk a bit further to get up to the buffet station. Once we had gotten to the buffet station, we didn’t have to wait long to get our food items as the items continued to appear on the serving tables at a fast pace. I did like the wallpaper on the walls of this buffet though, which made it appealing when looking at it. Definitely a very nice set-up for the buffet though, and it was MUCH larger than I had expected!

SERVICE:
When we had arrived at the restaurant, there were two woman at the front whom were taking down the names of the guests arriving. They seemed friendly considering that they were quite busy with customers coming in quite frequently. Once we were seated at the table, we went straight to the buffet station as we were quite hungry. Throughout our time at the restaurant, we had noticed that two different servers had come to our table to collect our dishes and to fill our water glasses. Both of them were very polite and courteous, but not pushy at all. We were pleasantly surprised at how relaxed we felt at this buffet, definitely a great atmosphere to be in! We didn’t feel rushed to finish which was a plus as some buffets try to have you leave as quickly as possible in order for new customers to arrive. Great service all around!

COST:
2 Adult Buffet Dinners (Holiday Pricing): $32.99/person = $74.56 (taxes included)

WOULD YOU RETURN?
Absolutely! Although some of the food items that I had received were not as hot (temperature-wise) as I would have liked them to be, I truly enjoyed how many items were available, along with the great service and atmosphere, all for a reasonable price.

Tuesday September 2, 2014. Recently found out about Spoonful and gave it a try tonight - a party of four travelling from the Niagara Region. I will agree that all buffet food is similar, but this place seems to take a little extra care in the preparation and presentation of their buffet. The food to me seemed of a higher grade than 'regular' buffets of the same cuisine, and the selection and service was far superior. The value for the dollar spent was excellent on this visit, 4 meals with drinks totalling just over $80 - GREAT value - with the "Birthday" discount being applied to our bill. This is not a local establishment for me, but I will definitely return and highly recommend. Well done Spoonful!

Best buffet in Brampton!. My ideal meal is a nice bowl of lobster bisque (stir to get some pieces that settle to the bottom), then a salad along with some delicious sushi, followed by a plate of white fish, yam fries and veggies. To round things off some fresh fruit with a bit of chocolate from their fountain and a taste of pecan pie. But, there is Everything there, you can eat as healthy or unhealthy as you like, eat salads or ice cream and gummy bears! Meat, fish, fried baked stirred, cakes and desserts of all kinds! Especially good deal if you're 55+ Fantastic buffet, quality and atmosphere consistently good!!

Fantastic for dessert. Modern decor, unlike any other buffet I've been to. Great selections, including sushi and sashimi, roast, custom-made pad thai, fresh mussels and escargot. I was especially impressed by the selection of desserts: they literally have everything! There is even a little machine that "poops" and fries mini donuts and a chocolate fountain. There is also a wheel of ice creams and a gummy bar kids will appreciate.

Change back from a $20?. First time visiting Spoonful in Brampton today for lunch on a Thursday in March. Expectations were tempered, as I am not a huge fan of "all you can eat" in general.

The building is new and odd looking, but the interior is excellent. The restaurant is not overwhelming, like some Manderin locations, where it can be hard to find you seat. The bar is very nice and the there are some uniquely designed tables that are contemporary in style.

The first, and maybe most impressive food presentation, is the large iced shellfish buffet. It carried a very nice selection of iced shellfish. The octopus was excellent, I went back for second and thirds. I assume it includes crab legs for dinner, but they were not out for lunch on this day.

They had plenty of soups and salads, not all of which were Asian themed. In fact, this is not just an Asian themed all you can eat restaurant, they have a reasonable selection of "non Asian" foods including pastas and grilled meats.

The sushi section was better than I would have expected. It was almost all Maki rolls, but they do serve sashimi for (the more expensive) dinner service.

The typical all you can eat section was filled with some regular items and some more "North American" items like fries and onion rings. Impressively they had plentiful supply of BBQ'd pork ribs in cut in half which was being re-stocked with great regularity. Try their warm cheese tarts, bite size with nice flavour.

The have a live cooking station where you can order fresh fish or grilled meats. They will have roast beef, leg of lamb, Hungarian sausage and a few other meats which can be freshly sliced upon asking. This is where I found the grilled calamari (squid) and also made multiple trips to that station. It was very simply grilled and just needed a squirt of lemon.

The dessert section is HUGE. I didn't try anything today, but it was impressive to say the least.

One odd thing is the disposable soy sauce containers in the sushi section are too small to dip any of their maki rolls in. It is time for Spoonful to invest in some cheap melamine soy service containers. It would be a very inexpensive improvement and would clean up the spills from the serve you own soy section.

Lastly the pricing was very fair. They have a weekday buy 1 get 1 50% off which meant we all got back change from $20 after tip/taxes and soft drinks. The value is very good at this price.

It does concern me that they need to run this promotion, but our very cold month of March has not been good for the restaurant trade, so it is not surprising they are offering specials.

Overall, a good lunch spot with fresh food at a very fair price.

Great Food! Recommend it!. I love spoonful restaurant!. Went there for my hubby's bday lunch and he loved it as well...wanting to go back when we have time. The food is really good but at times at food was a little cold but I didn't mind because the food was just that good so I brushed it off. The best time to go is at lunch hours (11am-3pm) on weekdays (Mon-Fri). FREE refills on soft drinks and it's pretty quiet and relaxing. Recommend this all you can eat buffet to EVERONE!!

Smash Hit!. I went here for my niece's birthday back in July and I was pleasantly surprised with this place.
I'd never been here before, and had never even heard of it, but the place was a smash hit for my whole family!
Although they try to be an asian style buffet, they have a lot different kinds of food.
I absolutely loved the lobster bisque they had there! (It's not often a soup is a highlight of my meal)

Food is good, service not so good. I went here on a weekday lunch w/ the fambam!! there was a line but so many tables were available after like 3 mins of waiting got seated. Since it was my first time, I went around and checked the place. It has nice décor and washroom really nice. Food...... soup- not typical selection from other buffet, lobster bisque was good, Salad bar- many choices and really good, sushi- if you love sushi better off go to wok of fame, they have more selection. Seafood bar- mussels, escargot (too chewy), clams, shrimps and octopus ( I didn't try it).. hot plate..good food but the turn over is a way long time..couple of ladies were waiting for crab cake and the server said,. 15 mins..I came back still noi luck. I like the Korean bbq and the skewers. Servers on the hotplate .....are not friendly at all..no smile on their faces but the girl from Crepe/waffle section.. so nice w/ a sweet smile. I guess I have to try weekend dinner for their crab and oysters and I'll make sure it'll be an early dinner to take advantage of the oysters :-)

Both time's I went it was great. I think best buffet hands down in Brampton. I suggest everyone check this place. May want to look at buffet before you decide to buy in. I went one time and the had lobster and crab for lunch. They mentioned it was a promotional day. The other time was still just as good minus lobster dishes and crab. I like this place.

This is the best buffet restaurant do far. Extraordinary decor! When I first stepped in, I thought I was in a 6 star hotel restaurant! The reception table was unique. But that's not it. Their seafood tower was really eye-catching. There were oysters, crab legs, scallops, mussels, clams, shrimps, octopus.... too many! They were very fresh and kept replenished very often, never ran out. I especially love the cocktail shrimps not only because they were yummy, also because they were shell-less :D I didn't have to peel them like at the other buffets in the same area.
This didn't have those regular soups (hot n sour, egg drop) which made me feel like in a menu restaurant! I tried all of them and they were all delicious. Their salads and sushi were my favourite. They used high quality ingredients such as steak salad & portabello mushroom salad. Sushi was beautifully displayed and I can say that they taste much better than many Janpanese restaurants. As for hot items, there were a pasta station, grilled meats and many dishes. Prime rib was juicy and tender (two thumbs up). Other stuff was also beyond my expectation. They have an OMG dessert section-two tables!! Candy bar was pretty. I couldn't resist to eat although I was extremely full. Too bad that there was no donuts at the time I went. Oh, they have a variety of cheese to choose from which was a new thing in Toronto restaurant.
Our server, Jeff, was very attentive, always refill our drinks. Other staff was very nice to us and when we asked them questions, they provided info. patiently (my son had minor egg allergy). We had a very good experience tonight and enjoyed the time at Spoonful. We would definitely go back again for their great food and awesome service. Congrats!

More Competition For The Mandarin. This new "upscale" Chinese Buffet opened quietly last week. I was there on opening day and enjoyed my meal. I like it better than Wok Of Fame which is just a couple of blocks south. I think that Spoonful has the potential to give The Mandarin a run for its money.

I liked the seafood bar although I have not yet tried the more expensive items that will be offered for dinner from Friday to Sunday.

The hot food items included some interesting dishes that are not available elsewhere. My minor quibble was that when I got there some of the hot items could have been hotter. There was a salad bar and also an area where meat was being freshly grilled. There were 2 desert sections and the donut making machine should be a hit with kids.

The design of the restaurant was quite modern, non fussy and well executed. As I have been in restaurants for 2 other chains that were designed by Joe Cho, his work was easily recognizable. It is much more coherent than the mishmash of different themes that the designer of Wok Of Fame foisted on diners.

Men should check out the wash room. It is terrific. I assume that the ladies room is also a treat to use.

From Monday to Friday, lunch costs $14.99. Saturday, Sunday and holiday lunch costs $18.99. Dinner is $21.99 from Monday to Thursday and $27.99 from Friday to Sunday and holliday's. Obviously, more expensive items will be offered at times when the price is higher.Tea, coffee and soft drinks cost an extra $1.50 although that price covers refills and you can switch from tea to coffee and still pay the $1.50.

There was a 20% discount given to customers who were 55 and over. I suspect that this discount will only be available for a short time. At my age, it was a nice bonus to receive.

They did not have their liquor licence when I was there, so I can't comment on the price of alcoholic beverages.

A new buffet opened up in Brampton, and we got some coupons in the mail. At first, I was skeptical as it is another buffet, but the advertisement on the flyer did look impressive - oysters, seafood bar, donut station, candy bar and more. Some friends had gone and said that it was pretty good, so I decided to come here for my birthday (50% off the price). I had mastered a new skill that night - carrying a baby while getting food from the buffet. I was going to wait for Mike to finish getting his plate, hand the baby to him and then get my plate, but I was too hungry. I made a round through the sushi and hot tables and got some sushi rolls, chicken wings, beans, and sweet potato fries. There was also a person that cooked pad thai while I waited. The wings were good, and I liked the crunchy shrimp sushi. The pad thai was not very good. For my second round, I went to the other hot table (after passing the sushi table again), and got some ribs, sweet and

This buffet, part of the Imperial Buffet group, serves a variety of international cuisines: Brazilian churrasco grill, Asian Fusion, Japanese, North American, etc. There's also a seafood bar (oysters, scallops, clams, snails, mussels, crab legs, shrimp, octopus, squid rings, surimi sticks and more) displayed on an ice platform. Some of these items are for weekend dinner menu only. I found the seafood to be a hit & miss as some tasted watery/bland. I've got a huge sweet tooth so I loved their multiple dessert stations that includes a donut machine, soft serve ice cream stations, rotating Tonda ice cream display, multi-tiered chocolate fountain and candy bar among their many offerings. Before checking this place out, I'd suggest finding out if there are any current pricing specials like their 50% off birthday or any discount promotions in the media (Facebook/Newspaper).
