Review Canelli's Italian Eatery - Brampton

Been here many times over the years but having relocated to Quebec not at all in the last four to five years...if anything it's improved from before...food portions are excellent and the quality is on point...also as ever, the serving staff if sincere and attentive which is something I always appreciated in the past. Barking Squirrel on tap is a plus as well!

First time here, Every dish was amazing. Definitely my new spot to get my fix when I am craving authentic Italian food. Service 5/5

It was my first time ever trying Chicken Marsala. It's the first time I've seen it as a choice at an Italian restaurant. Among many other Italian restaurants I've been to, this has been the first with many authentic choices to choose from. It has a very family restaurant feel which I find nostalgic, and overall a positive experience. I like that they have specials of the day for either a chicken (pollo) fish (pesca) or soup (zuppa). Overall the restaurant was clean. The restrooms were a little dated, and that's probably where one star was lost. The service was great. Server was very warm and welcoming. We can tell the kitchen does a great job as well because the food came quickly and very hot! We will be coming again!

The food here at Canelli's is the only reason I rated them at 4 stars. After doing Take-out from this location numerous times, I decided to try dining in. The service was sub par and dodgy at best, the interactions with the waitress felt uncomfortable and awkward. I probably wouldnt dine-in ever again, but I have to admit their pasta is excellent and great portions for the price you pay.

The ambience is pretty good and the pasta is pretty good, but all in all I wasn't blown away. I would recommend their red sauces over their whites.

it's a beautiful restaurant very clean and the food is amazing I couldn't find something to complain about and the best part of it the owner himself monitoring everything the portions are amazingly big and the prices are reasonable thumb up for this place

Had an Italian craving so I ordered takeout from lunch menu- Chicken Alfredo. I asked to add mushrooms for an additional cost. The food is great tasting, fresh, good portions and fast service. The waiters were very nice and added free complimentary french bread and butter. The only downside was that there was hardly any chicken...I will definitely return. Great value!

I loved everything about Canelli’s. The staff was really nice. Though we had to wait, we were really impressed with how they dealt with us. The waitress was extremely polite and nice. Lovely food, nice staff, would surely recommend this place to everyone.

Today's order of lasagne did not look anything close to what is pictured. 4 order so lasange that was irregular shaped and 4 small pieces of dry garlic bread for such a large price ? Could have purchased a family size lasagne and garlic bread for less than half the price at Hyland Farms or Longo. Have ordered before but probably not again as this is a change from what we expected at a higher price.

This place used to be really good. Your service was the worst when we went for dinner yesterday. Your waitresses have attitude and your kitchen staff needs to work quicker. Who waits for their food for more than hr. Unacceptable we will be looking for a new Italian place.

Have dined in 3x and ordered takeout 3x. Service is relatively quick and staff is friendly. I find the food options limited. And everything is very saucy.. too saucy! Penne Con Pollo has good flavours but it's literally drenched in oil. Even with 1/2 sauce it's just way too much and takes away from the flavours of other ingredients. It would also be nice to hear specials before ordering. Will probably be back if the menu changes up a bit.

Food was excellent in both quantity and quality!!Brought the family there to celebrate a double birthday, and the waitress went out of her way to make sure we were ok throughout the night plus brought over a bonus dessert 🍨 for the birthday girls . Will definitely return👍

The food was ok. Although the service was friendly our servers personal hygiene was terrible and ruined our entire meal and experience. Completely disgusted and will definitely not return or recommend.

By far the best Italian food I've ever had! And I've had A LOT! The food is amazing but the service is better!! Makes this restaurant a must place to visit!

We just celebrated our daughters baptism at Canellis and the meal was superb, the staff were phenomenal and everyone had a great time! Thanks again for everything and we could not have been happier anywhere else.

2018/11/03<br/>We were in Brampton at dinner time, drinking along Queen Street, scoping out places to eat, and we spotted Canelli’s Italian Eatery. It looks interesting enough from the outside, so we decided to give it a try. It’s a medium sized restaurant, with seating for about a hundred people, and it was less than half full when we arrived around 6 pm. The layout is fairly open, with a combination of booths around the outer perimeter, and tables in the middle. The tables had folding flaps that convert from a square 4-top to a round table that would seat 6 or 7. <br/><br/>After we placed our order, we were brought a basket of fresh, soft, sliced Italian loaf, and a plate with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic flakes. <br/><br/>We started out sharing a small Canelli ‘s Caesar Salad. Flavour was good, but we did not like the rock-hard single, large crouton. The two whole cloves of roasted garlic were a nice touch. <br/><br/>SWBMO chose here favourite Italian restaurant dish, the Chicken Parmigiana. Good-sized portion, lots of cheese, and a side of Spaghetti Pomodoro. The spaghetti sauce was a bit spicier that most, with the addition of chili pepper seasoning. <br/><br/>I also went with a favourite Italian dish: Eggplant Parmigiana, with the same Spaghetti Pomodoro side. The eggplant was properly cooked all the way through, just the way I like it. Each bite was cheesy, salty, savoury and earthy, with just a light texture from the breading on the eggplant. I really liked this dish. <br/><br/>We saw someone else order a Tiramisu that looked pretty good, so we decided to indulge. Apparently it is house made, and it was good. The ladyfingers and the mascarpone were light and flavourful. <br/><br/>Service was very good. While we had one main server, they used a team approach to deliver the food, offer fresh pepper and grated Parmesan, and clear dishes as they were finished. Our server checked in several times to make sure everything was okay.

Service was great but unfortunately the food was not. I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews. Food may be Italian but the taste is not.

Great pizzas, my manicotti was massive and delicious. The prices are reasonable, and the food is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Ambiance is good and pleasant. Taste of the food is total Italian and I like Italian food and flavours I was impressed by food taste and decor. About the service I'm not so happy we just order 2 plates and took around 35-45 mins to come.. we have to ask about spoons,water etc. So that part I think u guys need to take care of. Over all rating I will give 7/10.

From the food to the staff to addressing our nut allergy  they do it all well.  We are weekly regulars and would recommend other to experience Canelli's.

Canelli's doesn't try to be as upscale as some of the downtown Brampton Italian restaurants. Their prices are a little lower and the food is still very good. Our usual was the seafood pasta.

Horrible service. Left hungry and embarrassed.. Came in with a small group for a late dinner. Spent 2hrs with no food, ignored by wait staff, and hearing snarky comments by one server. Why? Because they thought 2 of us were previous customers who gave them a problem before. This was everyones first time at the restaurant. The 2 girls they thought they recognized are visiting the city on a business trip. Never will I return or recommend this restaurant. If you ever revisit after a bad experience wear a bag over your head or the staff will treat you with poor service purposely. Left hungry and embarrassed by the way my group and I were treated.

I visited this restaurant regularly for the last 7-8 years. Love the servers and food is great. What has happened the last two weeks??? Food takes forever to come out. I waited over an hour??? There are no specials??? I won't be coming back to this place. I've been a loyal customer, and it's like gone from day to night in two weeks. I am very disappointed and will not recommend this place to anyone.

Wine, Dine & Unwind. <br/><br/>I have to say out of all the Italian restaurant's I've been to this one has to be the most memorable & i'm very impressed with their dedication to high standards. I loved it, would highly recommend & keen on returning!

Easily the best restaurant in Brampton. <br/>Iv had the same waiter just about every time for the past 7years. Food is always fresh and tastes homemade. Pasta bolissimo is probably the most amazing thing I have ever tasted. Would defiantly recommend this place to just about anyone. Thanks guys !!

Not a good experience on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Chicken dish arrived undercooked (still pink!) and waiter was unapologetic. No attention paid to our table of 6 even though the place was not busy. No offer to refill drinks at any point. Food was average at best and service was poor. Will not return.

I ordered the seafood risotto last night. Not worth the $32 at all. Not only were the clams and oysters overly cooked and rubbery, they forgot my lobster tail and brought it after about 10 minutes. It was way overlooked and tough to chew. We waited a good 15 minutes for the bill. We weren't offered coffee or dessert either. Usually the food is good. Last night not so much. It'll be a long while before I decide to return.

Disappointed. Had a meal at Canellis this evening, beware when ordering liquor a such as Baileys.<br/>There was less than one ounce in the glass for a ridiculous $6.25, after complaining about the small amount of Baileys I was told by the server he would "fix things up" but never did return.<br/><br/>All guests in our group agreed the food was basic and service took too long as they appeared to be short on waiters.<br/><br/>You only screw me once and that will last a lifetime, never again.....

Great time. We purchased a Wagjag for this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent food, great service. The daily specials are excellent. It is on the upper price side, but I felt it worth it once we received our entrees. if I had one issue, it was that the Capuccino was aweful. tasted like regular coffee with foam. otherwise I would heartily recommend this restaurant and will be going back with friends..

A great local establishment! The food quality is always great! It is not the cheapest but it is worth every penny! The calimari is one of the highlights for me!

Have been going here for years. Food is good, staff is extremely friendly. Take out tastes as good as eating in. I would highly recommend Canelli's for some delicious Italian food.

I've Been going there for years. The staff is friendly and the food is always fresh. They can customize any dish on the menu for you, sometimes they let me create my own dish. I dont find it expensive at all. I highly recomend this hidden gem to anyone who enjoys great fresh food at a reasonable price.
