After a fun filled afternoon at Forgetmenot Pond, my stepson and I stopped here for dinner. The waitress and waiter were both very friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming. And the food was delicious. My cheese free pizza was better than most places and my kid ate the majority of his food which is usually a battle. After a rather enjoyable dinner, I realized my debit card was missing and must have been lost somewhere at the pond. Our waitress, Alex, was so understanding and reassuring about the overly embarrassing situation. Instead of being rude and untrusting, she offered the suggestion to pay for our meal and I would just etransfer her the money. Honestly, she saved my night. Thank you so much to this restaurant for your delicious pizza, that I will be back for, and your amazing hospitality, that I will never forget. :)
The BEST pizzas we have ever ordered!!!. We know this sounds like an exaggeration but it is THE BEST EVER PIZZA TASTED..freshly handmade dough from scratch / not frozen! Each of the 3 different pizzas we order were made accurately, lots of fresh ingredients balanced with a homemade tomatoe based sauce.
The crusts were so light / hand thrown and baked to perfection. Our pizzas were 1. Pepperoni & cheese
2. Spinach, feta, black olives, garlic, anchovies 3. Salami, red onions, feta... Plan on 25/30 minute wait but completely worth while !!! Family owned business too :))
Pizza has potential, but it needs some work.. Pizza review....
I used to manage the kitchen at a VERY popular Pub and Pizza place in Lethbridge. I crafted the pizza there over 10 years ago and it's made the same way today. I know my pizza :)
The Good: Server was friendly. Place was clean. Food was hot. Food was out fairly quick.
The Bad: Price is a little high. ($22 for a 12" with 4 toppings). Way Too much cheese! Despite what people say, too much cheese is a bad thing! We had a pepperoni, Mushroom, Green pepper and Salami, but all I could taste was cheese! It's a shame because the crust and the sauce were fantastic!
Summary: I'd go back to try some of the other dishes. If the owners are reading this...you gotta cut back on the cheese, and maybe get a mozza that isn't so heavy. My gut was not liking me after only 2 slices. Go easy on the cheese and try to get it browned and crispy on top! Other than that, we'll be back for a second take.
By far the best little family restaurant I've been too in awhile. One waitress in particular impressed me so much I gave her a massive tip, she was bubbly and very friendly! My family had a GREAT time eating here, will come back when we come back to Bragg Creek. I highly recommend eating here. The food did take some time but it was definitely worth the wait, everything is homemade and not to mention delicious!! Hands down the best restaurant in Bragg Creek.
STRANGE. Came here for lunch. As we enter, waitress indicates they are only serving pizza and fries. No burgers, no sandwiches, although menu has this. She says if you want burgers, go next door. We were a little stunned, as we left.
When we were there last, their pizza was quite good. Not really sure if she did not want the business or what the reason was.
Great food, great service and family friendly. Lori is a great server!
Delicious fresh cooked food!
Amazing friendly staff
This is our go to place in bragg creek for lunch, homemade pizzas are sooo yum!
Such great food! We loved the home made onion soup, the sweet potatoe fried are crispy and awesome, the Donahue pizza is a must!
Best pizza ive ever had! It took reasonable time and the lady that served us was very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to find an opportunity again to head out to Bragg Creek again to stopped by for some 'za!
Good Food. We went to the Pizzeria on Saturday (after good Friday), with 9 people. Getting a good tip from someone we ordered two small pizzas before we left Calgary. A cheese and a Ceaser pizza (a white sauce pizza chicken and topped with romaine). 30 minutes later we get to the restaurant, we are seated and wait for about 10 more minutes before the pizza's arrive (again a bit slower than I would have expected since we ordered it before we left Calgary).
Both pizzas were delicious, I would order the Ceaser pizza again! Would have never thought lettuce on a pizza would work, it also had a drizzle of ceaser dressing over the lettuce, and the lettuce still had some crunch to it (as I would assume it would go soggy from being put on a fresh out of the oven pizza).
I ordered the Buffalo burger with Fries, enjoyed both, I would like to commend the server, each time I have been there I have never seen her write down an order, and they have come correct every time. This day I saw her make a mistake, it was that she delivered the wrong plate to the wrong person. I don't mean to be negative in this comment, I am VERY impressed with this server, I used to work in this industry and I couldn't do what she does when taking orders.
Out of our nine (three were kids) plates were sent back clean, and very satisfied customers left the restaurant.
(Quesadillas were the next most ordered thing, and sides of Spinach Salads).
Yes! Good food takes time (and it is written there up above the bar), and it is good food.
My advice for customers, throw the "fast food" mentality out the window, there is no need to rush.
See if you can pre-order a small pizza to tide you over!
Advice for the restaurant; possibly a small cold tapas plate that is inexpensive to fill the waiting time for the main course.
New OWnership - New look - same great food. Well after hearing that the Bistro had changed owners I was compelled to go and give it a try. All the food was clearly all made from scratch and was very prompt for the quality and time it must have taken them to prepare. It was hard to choose what to order after seeing all the plates coming out. In the end we shared a pizza and each had an open face sandwich
The free appetizers were a nice touch.
The atmosphere was very inviting for families and couples and I really enjoyed being able to have a bottle of wine over one of the BEST pizzas I have ever had.
Highly recommend this place - it is number one for pizza in my books
The new owner was super friendly
Highly Recommend. My family really enjoyed the intimate friendly atmosphere. The kids had the cheese pizzas and finished them off which they never do at other places. The Buffalo Burger was huge and tasty and it came with a large portion of home made fries. The Jambalaya was really well done and delicious. The Apple Crumble with cranberries and mousse like Oreo Cheesecake were very yummy. The menu had many interesting dishes which I will try on my next visit. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite.
