Review Magnone's Italian Kitchen - Blue Mountains

We had one of our best authentic pizza experience. Service was great and wood oven pizza was very thing full of flavour. They got wide variety of cocktails and they looks amazing. I was bit disappointed due to my coke and 8$ for extra onion amd red peppers but overall worth trying this place.

Of all the restaurants we've tried at Blue, this one is by far the best. The food was amazing, service was genuine and really friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is really modern and fun but somehow also intimate and romantic. We will be coming back every time we're up!

Ordered a salad for take out and was told it would be 45 mins. Attended the restaurant to pick up 45 mins later and the salad had not been made yet. I then watched staff who were maskless, make the salad in less than 2 minutes. The salad was exceptionally small and the chicken was rubber like. The bill for the salad was over $30! Will not be returning here anymore both personally or recommending it to clients that attend the resort often.

We came for dinner after skiing. It was a good restaurant with holiday atmosphere. However, the pizza we ordered was overcooked and dry. And the pasta was flavored too much.

This was a great Italian resto. The server was genuinely friendly and efficient. There were two pasta dishes that we got that were exceptional: the Pollo Pesto and the Pappardelle Alfredo. We got our dishes Friday evening on Dec 10, 2021, so whoever helped make those dishes, excellent work! Now, every time we go up to Blue Mountain Village, this resto is a must. I highly recommend it.

We went to Blue Mountain for a mini vacation this week and had a fabulous dinner at Magnone's on Tuesday evening. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was stellar! Mandy, our server, was an absolute joy! Not only did she recommend excellent dishes, but she also helped us pair the perfect wine. Mandy was so lovely and made the entire experience even more special. We highly recommend the restaurant, you won't be disappointed!

The decor is lovely, in the evening it is quite romantic. The staff are fantastic! I thought the restaurant was chilly, the drinks were great, the food was ok.

A great place to relax, enjoy fine traditional Italian food, a glass of wine, or some Tiramisu. The warm atmosphere, friendly service, and quality of food are outstanding.

Nice decor, very good service and the food was fresh and authentically Italian, especially the bruschetta, would highly recommend it to anyone staying in blue mountain.

This was the first restaurant we walked into this place on our first visit to Blue Mountain. It had a great vibe and a warm, cozy ambiance. We started off with a bottle of wine followed by a delicious Spicy Sausage Pasta. Since we liked the food, we ordered a few pizzas as well and they were amazing. We also ordered the Salmon but the portion was smaller than expected. The service could have been better. While the menu was pricey, the excellent food made this place worth the visit.

Ambiance - 3.5/5
Service - 2.5/5
Food - 4/5

Nothing special I would say, pretty average food. Would have preferred a much more flavour some comfort food...............
Pricing for wine around is an average 45-50 a bottle

Over priced and over sauced....over priced I get, but give me a break on "Italian" cuisine. More like "Italian-style". Think Kelsey's type of food - white America style of an ethnic cuisine. Heavy cream, heavy salt, more and more cheese. Sorry but I don't need my pasta in such heavy oils and sauces to enjoy it - you just feel gross after. Can't believe we paid what we did for what we ordered. Not worth it!!

Had dinner at the Magnone's, I must say, It didn't deliver expectations... I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and Margarita Pizza along with Cezar Salad... Salad was alright, substitute bacon for Chopped up smoked meat bits was hard to chew but edible. Chicken was done right, but tomato sauce was big minus as it was bitter n sour. Pizza was beyond disappointing, it had some weird and un describable flavor I have never experienced anywhere. I truly expected more out of this cozy and charming restaurant. I ate lunch once at the same location years back when this restaurant used to be called 3 chefs and a fork and it was amazing. I guess this is new management and new chef contributing to pore quality and taste. Will not go back there again. :(

Dirty glasses, utensils, really awful food. My family and I ate there Feb 21 2014. First they sat us in a small corner table where the overhead light was burnt out so it was too dark to read the menu without the light from our iphones. We relocated ourselves. We had to clean the fresh utensils they brought and the water glasses. Then they brought me a glass of white wine and that glass was filthy. The wine was good though. I ordered a walnut, pear and cheese arugula salad. It was incredibly skimpy. It had one walnut on it, and about 1/10 of a pear, spliced into 4 pieces. Maybe 1/2 teaspoon of cheese. My wife ordered the calamari. It was heavily breaded, had no flavour and came with a small dish of mayonaise - again no flavour. It looked and tasted like the kind of calamari you get at really cheap road house restaurants. They had a special beer on tap that tasted so bad my 19 year old son couldn't finish it! Thats never happened before. If you want to eat at a restaurant that is not too interested in making food that tastes food, but does rely on the over demand for restaurant seating, this is your place.

Worst Experience Ever. Eight girlfriends and myself stayed in Blue Mountain last weekend (August 15-18). It was my birthday on Saturday August 16 and I had the worst restaurant experience ever. The waitresses and hostess where very uninviting and unfriendly to begin with. Then our waiter had no clue how to serve and forgot drinks and never came back to our table for drink refills until we were finished. The food was decent but with the unfortunate surroundings we could not fully enjoy it. When a waitress delivered out drinks she spill a drink on me and two other ladies and could care less just laughed and didn't apologize. Then when we got our bills they had already added a 20% gratuity to each of our bills. Also they do not take debit but they have a machine inside so you have to pay an extra $2.40 on top of everything in order to pay your bill in cash. Then upon our exit a table of kids above us dropped a glass that shattered all over my and a family beside me with the majority on me and a small baby sitting at table. Again the staff laughed it off and said how good the baby was and sweep up. No one was apologized too and nothing was comped in fact I don't even think they cared. Perhaps they would care if they got sued since I had to peel a chuck of glass out of my eye and have a problem seeing out of it now. I am disgusted with this restaurant and will NEVER return ~ diners beware of flying glass, poor service and unfriendly, uncaring staff.

Avoid At All Costs Worst Experience Ever!!!!!!. I asked the waitress Bisi after ordering the platter priced at $ 23.99 and having it placed on the table with 2 little pieces of cheese, stale hard bread, 4 olives and no roasted peppers as indicated on the menu if the gentleman at the front named Matt was the manager? She stated he was, l had only come to the restaurant after seeing pictures on social media of the restaurant's food entries, After attempting to get his attention on more than one occasion l finally managed to get his attention and asked him to come see me at our table as l wanted to show him the pictures l had of the restaurants food dishes which looked nothing like was served to us especially the platter. He appeared disinterested but finally showed up 15 minutes later, l expressed my disappointment on what was served and what was being advertised on social media e.g facebook as their food platter, he listened gave no feedback and walked away. After receiving our cheque $ 162 for burnt pizza (2), horrible bottle of wine and my son had a tiny pasta dish (regular not kids) , l figured he would at least comp the platter Nothing not a dime off our bill, no apology, l sarcastically thanked Matt to doing nothing on my bill for the concerns l brought to him (l may have raised my voice). He then tells me a customer to CALM DOWN so he can explain, l asked what he said to me he repeated CALM DOWN. I told him the conversation was over, l left 2 (one hundred bills)-- $38 tip it should of been nothing and explained the situation to our waitress stating l will never step foot in the restaurant again. Avoid at all costs only in business because of its location. I have never experienced anything like this and we eat out 2- 3 times a week!!!!!

Glowing Smile - Johnny C. I travel extensively with my involvement in racing, thus I dine in fine establishments thoughout our wonderful country frequently. Let me tell you how wonderful it is to find a restaurant that has & knows how to make your meal a wonderful experience. The attention to detail in the preparation of each course was brilliant. The colours on the plate magical, the flavours and variance of textures incredible.....and we were server by Erin, who had a tough job as we were a large party of hungry and finicky racers and she was professional, energetic, bright smile and informative.....five course meals for all....great wine selection....portions were very healthly....The service was absolutely brilliant......something you might not expect from a little town/village like Blue Mountain .....but let me be clear....This spot is a jewel in the crown !!!!!!!!!

Try the red wine!. Excellent wine - try the amarone Della valpollicella. Service was so-so and food kind of bland, but great atmosphere and very convenient right in the village.

Not good!. There parmesan cheese was so bad it taste like crap! Also there kids menu had to be said verbally and the kids menu Alfredo penne had NO sauce!!!

We went there for supper yesterday after snowboarding all day. The place was busy and we got greeted nicely even if we didn't have a reservation. They had a table open, but it was next to the entrance. We opted to sit a the bar meanwhile a better table gets free. The Green Dragon martini was awesome!!!! We got sat at our table, but was given only one menu. Overall the food was great, there was a little lack into the service. Probably would have been better that the bartender would have pass the table to a colleague. He had enough of making/serving drinks to all the tables, so there was just a few steps of service who were missed. Missing a menu, no water, bread served with appetizer instead of before, kept the same cutlery after appetizer, no spoon offered for pasta....
I would still go back because the ambiance was great, everything tasted delicious and not overly priced.

Great Family Place. Great selection of food. our waiter was a pro. super nice and attentive. The manager came and checked in with us and had a nice chat, very impressed. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was very prompt service, especially considering how busy it was.
Awesome place!

A bit of a disappointment. Went there for dinner on the weekend. I order the pasta with meatballs (special), and my dining partner ordered the gnocci. We shared a Caprese Salad appetizer, which was well prepared and tasty. I was really looking forward to a good, homestyle Italian pasta dish. The pasta and the sauce were just OK. The meatballs were huge, but undercooked and I found a huge piece of gristle (I hope it was gristle, the lighting was quite dim in the restaurant!) in one of the meatballs which pretty much killed the meal for me. The gnocci were pretty bland as well. The service was good, our waitress very pleasant and attentive. When I told her about the meatballs she did ask me if I wanted another selection, but it was too late by that point. She offered to knock 20% off the price of the entree, but I told her I wouldn't pay anything for it. She went to bat for me with the management, and was able to get the full amount for the entree taken off the bill. The restaurant was busy, and we found it a bit noisy. I'll give this place another try, hoping that it was just a bad night on the first try.

First and last time!!! Waited over 1hour for pizzas, the waiter said that the oven was broken and was being fixed, not true as we could see the oven from our table. My sons pizza was completely burned and un edible, had to give him mine which was burned also but not as bad. We called the waiter and told him, he was rude about it and did not pay attention to us the entire stay. We called the manager who took off 1 pizza off the bill but was not very sympathetic also. She then gave the bill to the waiter who basically threw the bill at us without any apologies at all. HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE will never go back.

Lovely place. My husband and I brought our grand kids here for dinner. We have three picky eaters but they were all able to find something they liked.
Our server was great with the kids and we had a wonderful night. .
Thank you Magnone's! You're doing a great job!

Great family Place. Wonderful, well run restaurant.
our server was absolutely lovely and just great.
The food here is perfect, always something for everyone, even picky eaters.
This place is always busy and for good reason.
One of our family's faves up at Blue mountain
Denise
Nice, overworked?, server. Overpriced for what it was. Salmon was very dry.
Calamari appetizer - large pieces, cooked ok but not consistent, just would never order again., my sons cheese pizza was good as was the spaghetti bolognese and lamb pasta. We just would not go back. Overall just not good enough especially at $175 for 3 adult meals and 1 kid pizza. 1 glass of red wine.

More than just pasta. Really great apps. Friendly & helpful staff. My family all found something they liked on the menu. Definitely a new family fave.

Something for Everyone. Great new (ish) restaurant. Good menu. There is something for everyone. Portion sizes are on the bigger side, but I guess that's true Italian style for you!
We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back with the kids.

My husband enjoyed dinner last weekend at Magnone's Italian Kitchen. The food was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed the atmosphere and great hospitality. As frequent patrons of Twist we had high expectations and we were not disappointed!

They'll be sure to see us again often!

Anniversary dinner. We were there a few weeks ago for our 10 year wedding anniversary and even though it was busy, we had fantastic service and the food was piping hot and delicious. My husband is vegetarian and the waiter was able to recommend a few dishes as well as offer a few that meat could be left out of. I had the spaghetti carbonara and he had a pizza and we had a lovely wine with our dinner and topped off with a beautiful creme brulee. It was noisy due to a few large parties and maybe too much alcohol, but the food and restaurant were fantastic. We will be back next time we are in the area!

Great Food! Lunch & Dinner. I've been here a number of times, always great service.
Food has changed quite a bit since they first opened and it keeps getting better every time.
They also have a totally underrated lunch menu. Amazing and creative things on there. all delicious and super affordable (especially for the village)
Also a pretty impressive wine selection, I was not expecting that.
All in all one of my favorite places.
Can always count on it for good food and great service.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

Terrible Service. I was here with 5 of my girl friends for the evening of July 7th. We arrived at the restaurant and asked for a seat on the patio, we were told everything was full and they would get a table inside ready for us and were sent to the bar until it was ready. We had to stand because there was not enough seats for all of us. It was extremely warm outside and the had all the partion doors open and the air conditioning on at the same time so it was hot in the restaurant and with all the doors open and no breeze it was extremely uncomfortable. We looked at the drink menu and we wanted some wine to start our evening we noticed it was heavily italian influenced , but as it was an italian restaurant we tried to talk to our server about it and they got really rude about it because one of the girls asked if they had any us wines. There scnid remarks about being and italian restaurant that we should try them. There manager came over, some british accented boy and started to berate me and my girlfriends and then left without doing anything. MUST show how this restaurant is running. This is just the start. It took about 20 minutes to get us seatedand another 20 minutes to get our order finally ordered. Then the wait for food. 35 minutes for pizza pasta, Way to long. One of the pizzas had such little sauce on it that we asked for more. All we got was attitude from the wait staff and a little saucer of cold pizza sauce..... REALLY!!!! When it was time for us to get our bill we asked if they could split it for each of us.... Well that is when everything went nuts. They told us it was not possible to split up the bill if we were a paty of over 6 GIVE ME A BREAK split a bill for 6 what???? 5 minutes more work. Then we went to pay some of us wanted to pay with debit OH NO they don't accept debit, cash or credit only. No where does it say that on the menu or when you come in .
So they sent us over to there other restaurant TWISTS and have to use there debit machine witha $4.00 fee to take out cash to pay for it at MAGNONES how embarassing. Then the ridicule from the bartender started and we started talking back to them in load voices. Telling us to grow up and to never come back. DON"T WORRY WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AND WILL TELL EVERYONE THAT WE KNOW TO NEVER GO THERE. This is the first restaurants that I have ever been to where they made mee and my girlfiends feel belittled. There was never any apologies and any direction from the management.

Stay away. Over priced, poor service.
We spent over $2000.00 as a group of 18. They added 18% automatic tip charge .. no wonder service was bad. There was no need for good service with that automatic tip. We were waiting a long time for our food. They brought us 3 servings of bread for all 18 of us. We asked for more and were charged $2.50 for each. Stay away from this tourist trap.

My 5 girlfriends and I went for the night to Blue Mountain to get a good night's rest away from our husband's and kiddies. We went to Magnone's thinking we'd have a great relaxing evening. We ordered 3 of the same pizza and other food to share. All 3 pizza's were not what we ordered but we only realized this once we were almost finished. Reason being, most of us arrived late and were famished and also it was earth hour and the lights were low. we honestly didn't pay much attention as we were too busy talking and catching up. Finally a friend realized she bit into a hot sausage and asked our waiter. He took our candle to the pizza and agreed all 3 were incorrect. After going back and forth to the kitchen, they apologized but would not do anything about it. 1 girl asked for the pizza anyway as she would like to taste it but the rest did not come out. I asked for the manager as this is not how you treat any customer especially when the restaurant was at fault. He came out with his snooty accent sat right in front of me and mocked me asking "what would you like me to do?" then he continued to mock while asking if we'd like him to remove all 3 pizza's off our bill and then paused and replied, "NO, because that it too much". As i started to respond to this stupidity, he simply got up and walked away from me. I contemplated on deducting the 3 pizza's off our tab myself but didn't want to stoop to his level. My husband and I, along with our friends stay in Blue Mountain quite frequently and will NEVER go back to this place again.
The food is great tasting but the poor/horrible service makes the restaurant a 1 out of 10.

After reading all the other reviews, I'm surprised this place is still in business.
Food Review
Horrible Experience. We booked reservations for 14 people and were seated in their upstairs area. Their HVAC was not working at it was UNBEARABLY hot upstairs. Their staff/manager knew this and still seated us there. A good manager would never have seated guests in that area and instead would have seated us in their half-empty restaurant on the ground floor.

We had to wait 26 minutes between having our appetizer plates taken away and having the main courses served. This is NOT an acceptable amount of time for anyone to wait, especially when there are children being served...oh - and did I mention how HOT it was upstairs???

Portion sizes were incredibly inconsistent. Three of us ordered their Carbonara. Three very different portion sizes were served. Two of which were smaller than the children's portioned size meals that we order.

When we complained to theirr manager, he offered to take 1% off of our $400+ bill. REALLY??? I complained again and he said that he would take the children's drinks off the bill. Come on....REALLY????? As a manager he is responsible for ensuring guests satisfaction. Room temperature, wait times, portion sizes were all very unacceptable. We told him that we wanted him to make this situation right. He left. When the waitress brought back our bill, all that was taken off of our $400+ bill were the children's drinks, totally around $20+.

I have NEVER had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. However, how it was handled by theirr 'manager' made it even worse. He had the power to correct the situation and chose not to.

Horrible Service. Myself and 9 friends went to Magnone's on Sat Feb 25th for a birthday dinner. The service started out ok but then a table of 20 guys got seated and we were totally left to fend for ourself. Our food came and we had to get our own pepper, cheese, water and wine. Some enjoyed their food while others did not. We mentioned the service to the owner on the way out and she was not really interested in hearing what we had to say. She was very indifferent and offered no apology. I would not go back and would not recommend this restaurant.
