Review The Union Street Cafe - Berwick

My mother and I went here for a nice meal.we entered and the waiter looked us up and down. Told us to take a seat, and slowly made his way to us. Three men came in and all the staff seemed to bend over for them ignoring all others. There was an older couple and three ladies who came in before we receive our food. The men were served quick and we had to ask three times for our check. They came after us, had food before us, and left promptly before us. The couple and the group of ladies were just being waited on when we left. Personally I feel insulted by our waiter and hope that being rude and ignoring customers is not a policy for this establishment. As I said the food was delicious, but the staff was rude. Would recommend the food and not the staff. Making it clear you think people are trash and you walk pass them is not welcoming.

Server was great, waffles, pepper syrup, and jam were very tasty, but the chicken was lacking. More of a schnitzel than buttermilk fried chicken.

We enjoyed the patio with the doggo in tow. The food was excellent, we were 6 people and everyone was happy! We shall be back! The mural across the street is lovely.

I went with a big group of people and it was my first time there. I was incredibly disappointed in the chicken and waffles, The chicken was just chicken tenders (I was expecting deep fried chicken pieces) my daughter got the tenders and fries and she got the exact same chicken I did. Not saying the chicken itself didn't taste good but definitely not what I was expecting. And there was WAY too much pepper in the syrup. For $18 definitely not worth it. We ordered a few drinks as well I got the pink lemonade while it tasted good the $12 was ridiculous for the size. The dill pickle spears and the sweet potato fries were good.

We've never had a bad meal here. Most recently (yesterday)- her burger was delicious, and my chicken pasta was quite filling with a good variety of ingredients (although the sauce could've used a slight boost of flavour somehow). Staff were prompt and attentive.

We were told the wait time at a competing restaurant in town was 1hr20 mins so we decided to come to Union Street instead. We’ve been here four times before, first three were good, the 4th was unacceptable and we won’t ever come back. Waited 1hr50min for our food… they had a large table but otherwise restaurant was not busy. We should have been given a heads up if it was going to take THAT long. Server warned us it would be a little backed up due to the large table and suggested we get an appetizer. OK, heads up was good, but an hour wait for nachos is still unacceptable. Then another 50 minutes after appetizer for our food. This is not “a little backed up” it’s unreasonable and we didn’t have the time to spend but didn’t want to get up and leave after we already ordered drinks and appetizer (other wise we would have left long before). What really set us off is that the server gave the table next to us a FREE appetizer and they received their main course well before us and before another couple who were there even before us. We ordered burgers, how complicated are burgers?? Disappointed and should have been given a heads up on the wait. We wouldn’t have stayed but at least we would come back!

I've had an excellent time at The Union Street each time I've visited. The food and drinks are great, the atmosphere is quality, and Dayle is a treasure of a server. Definitely recommend, and well-worth the drive.

Easily the best food for the price in the valley. Went in today, great service as always. Great food. The Thai burger was on special andit tied with the second best burger I've ever had in my life. Everytime the food is on point. Get the Mexican Jimmie dog (it's amazing but it's also good for a laugh). I'm probably 85% through the menu and can't wait to try the rest. Keep it up

Great place. Unique and upscale food. In touch with the community from local brewery products, meat and cheese from the valley, and good entertainment etc. Service is great, staff is outgoing and accomadating. Prices are very competitive especially when considering the caliber of products. Highly recommend.

The food is amazing!! I found myself at this restaurant over the holidays, it was my first time eating out since going gluten and dairy-free. I was given a variety of options to accommodate my new diet, I had the Ginger Peanut Noodle dish, it was delicious and left me dreaming for more! Thank you Lauren for the helpful recommendations and a wonderful experience.

The Hillsburn concert Friday night was amazing. One of the best we've seen so far. Food and service was great too. Would love to see a pasta dish on your regular menu.

First of all, love the decor! The old fashion cameras, TV, and rolling pins that decorate your walls are simply adorable! The food was very, very yummy! My husband and I shared a portion of the wicked fries, that have a very fitting title. I had the peanut noodle dish and my husband had the Thai burger with fries. I LOVED my dish! I took the rest home with me for dinner and am dreading the moment when I have finished it all and it is no longer available in my house! Really great job! Also the service was excellent! Great job Union Street! We will definitely be back :)
