Review Szechuan Restaurant - Bedford

Was not impressed with food. Ordered a combo pork spare ribs and sweet and sour chicken balls. Had barely any sauce and the chicken balls were still cold in the center. Further more this place needs good cleaning from the dusty light shades hanging over the tables to the dirty window sills that had dried up food crumbs and a dead fly. Was completely turned off from this place. Will not return

This is a unique restaurant where you can get the regular Canadian Chinese fare, and also Authentic Chinese Food! Service is too notch and they are very willing to describe their dishes. We have really enjoyed learning about their authentic dishes and trying them. The food was so good that we dug right in before getting any photos! So far we love the Szechuan Pork, twice cooked pork, veggie fried rice, egg rolls and spring rolls.

I am very disappointed with the food quality and taste. I ordered sweet and sour fish and vegetarian combo with fried rice, vegetables and egg roll. I'm upset to say that we could not finish anything although we are not picky eaters. The sauce for the sweet and sour was the worse sauce we ever had and we didn't even use it. The vegetables were only broccoli and the egg roll only had cabbage. Only the fried fish was good. I'm definitely not visiting again and don't recommend, especially with so many good restaurants around. Perhaps I tried the wrong items 😔

The most authentic Chongqing Spicy Chicken I’ve ever had! From the first bite I knew that this is an awesome restaurant and I will definitely be coming back for more of those chicken!

Today was our first time going to this restraunt. We like to try the little nooks and cranny type spots because they seem to usually be the best. This place was ok in my opinion.I had the vegetable chowmein. It tasted alright but It was a very small portion for a full serving.Finished it in about 8 bites and was still quite hungry. She had the Singapore noodles and she liked them with a descent size serving.Almost twice the size of my plate.Hate to be one of then complainers but also found it strange that there was a woman pacing back and forth the whole time over the whole restraunt talking on the phone chasing a small child around.Im assuming maybe one of the owners. Was kind of weird.I hate to call it quits on a spot with and base my review upon one meal/experience.But I cant see my self heading back to this place. It might be for you.Not for me.

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews for this restaurant. This is obviously a hole in the wall restaurant with pretty cheap price with one front of house staff and a couple of kitchen staff. I wouldn't expect fine dining services. If it takes a bit of time, it is probably because they are making food from scratch vs. some fast food restaurants where things are pre-made and simply heated up. I ordered a few traditional Chinese dishes, and the chef and staff were tentative and asked about my preferences. I lived in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver, and tried Chinese food all over the world. The portion was good. Flavour was as good as it gets given the limited Chinese ingredients available in this part of Canada. The hot and sour soup was the best I've tasted in years. The meat was well marinated and tender. Both pork and beef. I will definitely come back :)

The wait time for food was very slow but the food was delicious. I had the spicy fish and it was delicious but I wish the wait time did not take that long. Overall, food was good.
