This is the greatest Chinese food in Barrie by far, the freshly made dumplings are delicious.
One of the best Chinese food in Barrie! The owner is amazing and treated us very friendly! She brought us the menus and explain every single dish for us! We feel really comfortable with the owner! They are such an amazing place to eat! The price is amazingly cheap and the food you get with it is absolutely fantastic! I recommend this place to my friends and family! Tips to get the best food: go with your Chinese friends they probably know the food better and since the owner does speak a lot of English! So a Chinese friend will help you get over the hard time! Order the food the owner recommended
Food was great! We ordered four dishes for 3 people and we finished everything! The beef noodles are a treat as they make their own noodles from flour and that really makes them chewy! We heard this place was good if you want close to authentic Chineses food, which is hard to find in Barrie. We ordered dumplings which where made as we waited, so I knew this would be a treat and they where really good! Also had the pork belly dish on veg., it also was very nice. The atmosphere was plain, plastic chairs... and needs a little brightening up, but for a lunch place it's ok and the food is really good. The staff are pleasant and are willing to please and they also offer the regular Americanized Chinese food.
Wow what great authentic Chinese food. The spicy tripe was really good and really spicy! Also we have eggplant and potatoes and braised pork belly. There were also great! It fed 4 adults including fried rice. We ate all the food before I could take a picture.
The most authentic, freshest Chinese food in Barrie. And Mei is a delight! Makes her own noodles and dumplings. The pork and chive guotie and the hot and sour soup are my husband's favourite. Mine is the mabo tofu. Fragrant, spicy and so satisfying. We didn't know think we were ever going to find a good Chinese restaurant in Barrie until a Chinese student recommended Mei's. This is the real deal.
Love this place. After 30 years of living in Asia, we struggled to find a local restaurant in Barrie that had authentic Chinese food. Finally, the kitchen God took pity on us and directed us to Mei's. Mapo tofu had fresh silky tofu, chiles and lots of pork. The green beans are tossed around the wok to pick up the flavour of the oil and chili but they hold onto some crispness. Try the ginger beef and the fried rice. Yum! The guotie is made on the spot by Mei who rolls her own dough before frying them up. She will customize orders (but please ask nicely because she's a sweetheart).
To say this place is a hidden gem is an understatement. The food amazing. I recommend the handmade from scratch dumplings. The environment is nothing fancy, but comfortable. The staff are very friendly and good with little kids.

I AEE YLUR LOCATION IS NO LONGER THERE ***** Hopefully you have a new location???Based on the previous reviews you either love this place or you hate it I happen to love this place and it's the only place I order from for our Chinese food nights. The food is fresh .. each plate tastes different, unlike s lot of other places where they use the same oil and pans. If you like authentic you will love this place if you like more generic Canadian Chinese food than any other place in barrie can help you out... I highly recommend gi ing it a try
The Salt & Pepper breakfast special was great. A lot of food and they took great care in preparing the fruit salad in a wonderful presentation. Very attentive to our needs, pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend making this a must have if you are in Barrie.

Authentic made from scratch food. So friendly. Get the dumplings, but they are only available if if Mei is there to make them. Ask them to recommend food and you'll enjoy even more.
This place is by far the best Chinese food in Barrie. I've been to China and this is as close to authentic as I've eaten north of Toronto. They make their noodles in house. Finally good Chinese food in Barrie!

Fresh, authentic food and incredible service. Clean and welcoming space with plenty of smiles. Mei is amazing and the chef is one of a kind! Highly recommended!
