I love sushi, so I took my cousin here one day to try a new location (we usually do Azumi). It was a great experience!
Food: The selection was very good and the food tasted great. We tried about twenty different items but the big hit with my cousin was the wontons. We ate more than we needed to but enjoyed every bit!
Service: Nothing spectacular, unfortunately, but also nothing unpleasant. Very business - like, which is fine. We were served quickly though and we're able to pay and go in a timely matter too.
Price: Same range as all sushi buffets in this area. We went for lunch and it was $13 ish. I don't do sushi dinner cuz I don't eat enough to make it worthwhile, but the lunch price is very reasonable.
Summary: A nice place with good food! Not my fave sushi choice but def not a bad one either. Recommended!
Service was slow and they didn't bring us a second menu for a second round of sushi. The food was fine no problems there. Just can't put them on par with most sushi places I've been too.
The food was good and very fresh. The all-you-can-eat lunch menu did not have all the dinner options so if you want something specific, it is worth it to make a phone call. The place has a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and efficient. They forgot one of our dishes but when we reminded them, they kindly got it for us. Great place!
Very good place to eat. I read the reviews and they are very interesting as I have had nothing but good experiences with the people in the Barrie location. This is an all you can eat and I do not find any more rice on the rolls than any other place offering the same all you can eat services. If you want less rice, than go to a non all you can eat, otherwise, the food is of good quality and the new decor is quite appealing. The key hear is to order everything you want the first time around, if you want seconds, thirds and fourths then you will need a little patience.
Great menu & service. Will definately be back
LOVE IT!. I have heard complaints about rude wait staff or customers being ignored, but I have NEVER had that experience. The staff at Aji Sai does NOT hover, they don't bug you about your food, as a matter of fact the only time I have had anyone approach my table while we were eating was when one of us picked up the menu to order more. Their not being indifferent to their customers, they just don't stand over you at your beck and call every second, and quite frankly it makes for a lovely and relaxed meal. My water glass has NEVER gone empty, and I have never waited long for my food. It always comes perfectly made and delicious. I would...and HAVE...recommended it to family and friends.
Incredible Deal. The service is always fast and correct..I have been in Barrie going on 16 years now..We are lucky to have Aji Sai here in Barrie..saves the trip to T.O.
And as someone has already mentioned..If you have traveled a bit, you would find Aji Sai a incredible find in a town like Barrie..
Now all we need is a great Haka place with Chili Chicken and Haka hot and sour soup and I do not have to head south to the big smoke for dinner with the wife..
Barrie almost has it all now..
Aji Sai!. I used to hit up the all you can eat food here w friends allllll the time. This place is obviously stylish and has friendly staff and is always very clean.
I dig the orange pop.
The sushi is always fresh and it's made out in front.
I eat until I cannot eat a thing more.
Everytime.
Go here; keep these guys in buisness till I get
the chance to go back and eat there again.
:)
Good service, Good food. Had a late Friday lunch and was quite happy with the quality of the service and food. Very fast service and everyone I dealt with was polite and friendly. The sushi was very good for an all you can eat restaurant and average price. For people who are not big fans of fish there are some interesting beef rolls as well. I will come back again in the future.
Best price for all you can eat. and is pretty good food too. I've read dozens of reviews of sushi places and every single one comments on the terrible service. I find all the sushi places in Barrie have the same standard of service. I think this is a cultural thing. In north america we expect the servers to be looming over our table every minute to see if we need anything. What i'm beginning to think is this is the asian culture, they are meant to not be seen and out of the way i don't think they are ignoring anyone they just do not want to be a nuisance. Aji Sai has a similar standard of food as the other places in Barrie. I've never had any problem with the food here it's always great. As far as the service I feel the way to get them to take another order is to hold up the menu and look at it They seem to swarm to you. They're sushi always tastes fresh and the price is right I continue to go there again and again. I highly recommend Aji Sai.
Well it's not fancyn, it's not very appealing from outside at all - but it is still my favorite all you Can eat Sushi In barrie . You get free green tea - a very selection of sushi , fried foods , salads . Soups etc for lunch and an even better Menu for dinner - desert too ! You can not go wrong here ! Quality and quanity - yes like most all u can eat sushi bars- if you leave a Lot of food you are charged a VERY small price ! Well worth it . Service is fine - I go there all the time and have received worse service At baton rouge . Try. : dynamite roll , spicy California roll , green salad , smoked salmon hand roll .
New owners - new attitude. I was surprised to learn there are new owners. My last experience there was over the holidays while shopping for Christmas gifts in the area. The service has improved. All the waiters seem to have moved downtown to Akira. I noticed the floors were not sticky like under old management. Your soles would actually stick to the floor before! The menu has changed and there's a great addition to their lunch menu (eel, fish roe, squid).
The complaints on here are stupid. This is Barrie people it's a great selection for one and for under $22 at dinner I wouldn't be complaining and one I'm use to Ottawa and Montreal $20-$25 lunch prices, paying extra for things not eaten and for tea or ice cream. Consider yourself lucky to have this place it's the best Ive had in Barrie so far. The people here are Asian so yes they have an accent. They are polite and always welcome you with a smile. The food is delicious and they have yet to give you the wrong order on a busy day/night. Parking is bad but everything else is great. To those who complain about the little things you haven't travelled enough to realize what good cultural service is. FOOD to TRY: short rib roll, steak teriyaki, spicy salmon and tuna and the gyoza is decent here.
Good sushi, extensive menu. We used to be regulars here, and our only gripe was the poor to mediocre service and cafeteria-like decor. The sushi is very good, which makes up somewhat for the lack of atmosphere and poor service. We are now die-hard Akira regulars, but still stop in at Aji Sai for lunch from time to time, as we find the service to be slightly better then.
My visit. I was in Barrie for 10 days and i ate there twice. Great food service was not bad; but it was not busy. For the price A+. I would love to bring my wife, she is the Sushi connoisseur in the family.
The food rivals the quality of Vancouver Japanese restaurants. Excellent quality fantastic price! I enjoyed every dish I tried and left completely satisfied ( and that is hard to do!) I will return!
Favourite place for sushi! All choice of sushi are delicious, and the chick teriyaki is a must try, as is the wakemi salad. Good service. Defintely recommend, makes a great lunch!
