Review The Farmhouse Restaurant - Barrie

This was my first time at Farmhouse in Barrie and I fell in love! Great service and the food was amazing. We are definitely going back. We got oysters.. didn't get a picture they didn't last long. We ended up getting muscles as well because someone next to us got them and they smelled so good so we got them too they were also delicious. Got the tenderloin for dinner with the seasonal veggies and smashed potatoes. Portions were perfect and we all had clean plates. Also had dessert which was very yummy! Thank you Farmhouse for a great experience!

One of my favourite restaurants in Barrie. The patio view is beautiful. It’s a very clean place, perfect for date nights. I went when it was busy, and the service was amazing! It’s a little pricey, but the food is very delicious, cooked perfectly and plated nicely. I have recommended Farmhouse many times and will continue to do so. Can’t wait to visit again!

I went to the farmhouse for the first time today. The view was nice, my food was ok. As you can see in the picture, the presentation was poor. My sausage was so dry , the toast was served on the same plate making it hard to eat. Let's talk about the service. On the other hand, the server was nice and friendly. And the coffee was amazing. The ambiance, the food, the service. We chose The Farmhouse to celebrate our 18 year anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our amazing server Cassandra went above and beyond to make sure our night was as special as could be. We can’t wait to come back and we will recommend your establishment to all!

Great customer service! Amazing food! Our Waitress, Sylvie, was awesome! My wife didn't like her drink, so she offered to replaced it with no questions asked..amazing!!

Located right next the harbourfront. Designated parking. Bright and welcoming decor as soon as you walk in. Amazing brunch menu. Unique Egg Bennie selections. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Small mistake on our orders but it was fixed with no issues. Strongly recommend.

Had dinner at the Farmhouse recently. Some thoughts: Pros: - Parking is available - The fries were pretty good - Service was good-ish Cons: - We were initially given a table with a space heater near the front door. Half the restaurant was empty at this point. It's a pretty bad way to get dinner started. To the credit of the staff, they were able to fit us at another table. - The food was bad. The burger just missed the mark. It lacked sauce. And the bun was oversized compared to what was inside. The Beef Dip came conspiciously on a brioche hamburger bun, and it didn't taste great. Even the fries that tasted decent, about a quarter of the basket came undercooked. But the worst offender of all was the mac and cheese. It was bad. It was just macoroni with cheese melted on top after the noodles were cooked. Yeah it wasn't great. Look, if I'm being honest, this is more of a 1 star experience than anything. I know this place is kind of an insitution in Barrie. It's one of these places that's done well because the prices weren't too high, and the menu is full of comfort food that everyone in the family can appreciate. And the space heaters are all apart of the charm that comes with the name of the restaurant. But the problem is that the food just doesn't hold up compared to what others are doing in town. And neither do the prices. Compared to some of the newer restaurants in town, this place feels less like an institution, and more like a relic of small town dining. If you want a more satisfactory meal with a better menu, check out North Country instead.

The food and service were both amazing! Had the dill pickle fried chicken to start and the roasted pork quesadillas and Randy bo bandy burger for our entrees - everything was great. Ryan even brought us fresh napkins and cutlery between our starter and the main course. Nice outdoor seating on the second level with a view of the lake. A bit expensive but worth it - all in all a great experience, worth a stop if you're in the area!
