Looking for a quick bite Bruno's was where we ended up after a long day of hiking. The bartender was very friendly and checked in on us often. The food was served quickly and promptly. Fish and chips were good, a bit oily but that's what I expected from fish and chips. The California wrap was tasty but a bit on the spicy side for my wife. All in all it was a good visit

Brunos Bar & Grill was good! Parking: There is a parking lot across the street which also has spots for Bus Parking. I suspect if it was a busier time it may be filled with tour buses, but today with COVID and the really cold temps + wind it was wide open! Service: Service was great. Our waitress was really attentive and nailed our order. Food: What we ate - 3 of us.. Brunos Benny - This was yummy. The eggs were done exactly as I asked for, and the hollandaise sauce was light and not heavy - which was awesome. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked and salted - super yummy! Breakfast Poutine (x 2) - The Cheese on this was AMAZING. Hashbrowns didn't go soggy with the hollandaise sauce + mixed with bacon and sausage it was on point. Side of Sausage - Delicious - the side order comes with 3 sausages 1 Tea Apple Juice Total Bill around $65 Location - Centrally located downtown. We were recommended by our hotel (Banff Caribou Lodge & Spa) to try Tooloulous but when we drove by it was packed and people waiting, we drove up and down streets and found this little gem.

All day breakfast, right across the street from where the tour buses park. I had the breakfast poutine, which was great. I also enjoyed watching the staff greet their regulars by name. (Kind of like the Cheers bar.) I'm only deducting a star because the bathroom was a little rough.

Friendly staff and good hot breakfast. Breakfast poutine was mint. Lots of melted cheese and hot potatoes. Usually not a fan of hollandaise, but it was a perfect combo for this dish. Round Two: The bf poutine cheese curds were not as melted as round 1, but it was still delicious. Minus half a star for the minor inconsistency :)

This is a good bar/restaurant right off the main strip in Banff. They serve breakfast all day and you must try the Tragically Hip Burger. It is fantastic! They have a number of TVs and various seating available for different occasions.

Very friendly service, no wait at all at 5pm on a Sunday. Had the breakfast poutine, which was amazing! They serve breakfast all day which is great! Nice place.

Really disappointing... Went for the chicken wings and they were very poor quality. And the sauce they were cooked in didn't have much flavour. Some were hot and others stone cold, Service was ok but I'd pay a bit extra next time and go somewhere else.

Great food at this semi-hole in the wall place. Got the Tragically hip burger- soooo good! Large pattie, filled me right up. Other friends got the mac and cheese and poutine. They gave good feedback. Kinda dead inside and tv's were playing instead of music for half the time there, but i'd be back if I needed some pub food and to chill.

A great breakfast spot in Banff. Or if you just want to drink, they can cater for that too. The food here is nice and cheap, and they don't skimp out on serving size either. Our hostess was on the ball with coffee. Highly recommend this place to fuel the body before a hike. Or just stop by for a few brewskis and people watch through the large windows.

We went for brunch here to try something new since Mel's was busy. Place was pretty dead, definitely had the feel that it's a busy place by night. We both had the Benedict and it was good, nothing very special though. Didn't like the hashbrowns. I think my overall impression was just "meh". I don't think I'd go back unless I was out of options.

I'd go again!. I was a bit hesitant to check this little gem out as some of the reviews weren't all that favorable. I usually go to Melissas Missteak. .. I opted to try this one out as Melissas only has shredded hash browns and I'm not a fan... it was delicious :) wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff and food made as I'd requested and came out hot!

Moldy Onion PSA. Mold, seriously. My boyfriend and I both got standard 2 egg and bacon breakfast with hashbrowns. My hash browns had old chopped red onions on them, his didn't. He lucked out, because one of the bits was totally green and moldy. I told the server, she said sorry, it's on us and walked back to the kitchen. She was eerily not surprised at all. If I'm going to pay ridiculous Banff prices (10.50 for a simple freaking breakfast) I really expect better than moldy food. Will never go back.

Great breakfast. We have been here twice for breakfast first time we had the 'brunos eggs benny' the eggs were poached to perfection but the hash browns (which are just bits of potato cut up) came out slightly cold making them hard to eat. Second time around we tried the 'pulled pork skillet' and this i recommend is something that you try all the ingredients blend together, pulled pork, tomato, hash browns and cheese served on a sizzling plate and it has plenty of flavor. Waitresses both times have been very nice and attentive. Reasonably priced meals and drinks also.

Horrible I promise you. Worst breakfast ever had. Everything was cold especially the hard hash browns and eggs overlooked but waitress was nice and we tipped her well but will never ever go back due to the quality of the food especially the bacon which appeared to have been dipped into their deep fryer as one end of bacon over cooked and hard as a rock and the other half raw. So for a breakfast that I was so anticipating, I had half an egg, 2 ends of bacon toast and that was it. Bruno's = Brutal

Breakfast. My wife and I go to Banff often and once we found this 'gem' for breakfast we have not gone anywhere else. The service is wonderful and friendly- the breakfasts are amazing and yummy. Have not tried dinner or lunch here but may have to one day, but if you're looking for a good home cooked filling breakfast , look no further than Bruno's.

Decent Breakfast. We went here for breakfast because the breakfast special at our hotel was awful. I wasn't sure at first how it would be. They service was very good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the breakfast burrito, by husband had the Mountain Breakfast and my kids had the French toast. Everything was very good. I would definitely recommend for breakfast. Not sure about the lunch or dinner, but breakfast was very good.

We went here for breakfast as there were no other restaurants open that Sunday morning that we could find. The service was actually good, the waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the classic breakfast, it was ok, typical eggs, toast etc. Hash browns were a little burnt but I'm not a fan of hash browns anyway. My bf ordered the mountain breakfast with French toast that we shared. His was pretty much the same as mine. The French toast was so bland though!! I'm pretty sure there was no cinnamon, no vanilla, nothing. Just bread dipped in egg. Very plain, no taste and the 'berries' they put on top were not fresh but out of a tin. Yuck! So if you want a big standard eggs on toast type thing then go here but don't expect much.

Ordered the BLT this morning, it was good but looked and tasted like I could do the same if not better at home. My fiancé on the other hand ordered the eggs Benny and not only was the sauce damn near tasteless but instead of a pouched egg the cook put a fried egg on top and burnt the bottom of it.

Not typical pubfare. Went with a group of girls late May and ordered the special of the day the "Tower Burger." It was amazing and very creative. Would have never thought to put cream cheese in a burger. It was very filling and not greasy after a weekend of greasy pub food in Canmore and Banff this was a welcome change. Not your typical pub fare. The portions are huge and we couldn't finish the french toast I ordered after the meal even though my friends and I shared. We also liked the small seating area outside where we sat since there didn't appear to be many patios near Banff Ave. Our waiter was very friendly and when I am in the Banff area again I would just stick to this pub over the others that we visited.

Tantalizing !. As a banff native the old brunos made me sick ... However once bought out by new local owners in feb 2012 it has complety changed, the food is fresh the service Is bar none and the prices even satisfy this cheap Dutchmans pocketbook ! Well done new brunos, well done !

Effed service. Got a steak medium rare, came out well done) no blood in the center of the steak. Told the waitress, she wasnt too happy but still took it away. Came back pretty much teaching me what a medium rare stake is... Lol thanks for the free lesson. I still had it returned, to geta new one. After I got the food, felt someone was staring. One of the waitress or manager was staring me down..... As she was cleaning other tables.... Lol ok?

This is by far the worst service I've ever had! Rude and sour! After eating here it kind of makes you wanna take a nice trip up the banff gondola and bail off half way up. Never going back!

Awful ! We had to ask if we could sit down hoping that was a hint to clean a table as all the staff were hanging out at the bar. Eventually (30mins) we ate and it was awful, dried out, cold and maybe a small communication break down but 3 out if 4 meals were wrong. Also soup come 1st ! Not with your meal.

Good Burgers. I loved this restaurant before the menu change. They have cut back on their burgers and no longer offer the variety they used to. I used to come here for a Bison burger every time I was in Banff. The new menu is good, but not as good. This is a great place for a relaxing night out with friends and if you time it right there may even be a live band.

Best comfort food ever!! Had spuds egg Benny and had maple sausage instead of bacon. My husband had the elk burger with potato soup and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and our waitress told us everything is homemade!! Wasn't surprised since it all tasted so good. Definitely going back for dinner to try their "Mains". Was told I have to start with home made crab cakes. Will do :-)

Mediocre service. Waited like the sign said to be seated only to be told to seat ourselves when finally noticed, then waited to be asked about drinks and took forever to get them. Food took a long time too, drinks and food were ordered at the same time. Hamburger was tasty but overcooked, coleslaw was tasteless, sweet fries greasy and limp. Son ordered a cheeseburger but got grilled cheese. Won't be coming back.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Wasn't expecting much, it is a breakfast diner after all, but hands down one of the worst dining experiences ever! Extremely rude waitresses/managers, waited FOREVER for food and drinks, everything was cold, average food at best! (Even if it had been warm to begin with) Left a $1.00 tip, which was too much in my opinion. Will never return. Try any of the other wonderful restaurants Banff has to offer!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I waitress so I get it when a restaurant is busy. But our waitress was flat out rude. No wonder the pop is bottomless because you have to get refills yourself. At which point the manager glared at me when I asked for a refill then only half filled up my glass. Not to mention it took 30 min to get our drinks after we had to remind her that we ordered them. An hour later our food arrived but I saw it sitting there for a long time. It was all cold. My friend explicitedly told the waitress she was a celiac and the meal came with no hashbrown but toast on the plate. At the end we asked for change and the waitress said< " I don't really have any. But I guess I could ask my manager then she rolled her eyes at my friend." We left a dollar on a 90$ bill. It would have been different if she was at least apologetic but that wasn't the case. Even the manager didn't care when we complained to him on the way out. But happily got waiting customers at the door to leave with us when we told them how terrible it was!!!

Great downtown ski pub. After a great day a sunshine village, a group of us where looking for a bite to eat. Just located across from the drop off point for our shuttle was Bruno's. A local spot named after Bruno Engler. They hade a all day breakfast whick is rare to find in Banff. I decided to have an mountian breakfast(could of share with a friend ) is was huge and only $14. I noticed a sign in the window for a 2 for 1 burger night the following evening(tuesday) the place was paced with locals and the homemade pattie was great, i decide to try the "knarleey" burger with sweet fries and a tradional ale with was the drink special. My bill was onder $20 and got a second burger for free, wow what a great deal. I would return any day of the week , Bruno's was relaxed and the service was great.

Ordered take out burgers, fries, and wings. We were very dissappointed with both the rude staff (appearded to be a manager) and the cold stale food. Wilted lettuce, over cooked tiny wings, stale bread, and what could only be considered a half order of fries. To make it all worse we paid $90 + tip for our 4 burgers and wings. If only we had realized when ordering over the phone that this was the same spot we had eaten-in before and been dissappointed (we didn't recognize the place until we pulled up to pick up.
