Review The Fudgery - Banff

Robert Chisholm
Great fudge shop with lots to offer. Many fudge flavours but also much more. Greta savoury snacks as well and chocolate covered pretzels. If you are around. Come here for all your sweet tooth cravings!

!! DO NOT BE FOOLED !! The labels on the fudge say that it’s $4.10 per 100 grams and the portions on display are around 225 grams. Please keep this in mind when buying their fudge!

Great place to pick up an incredible selection of handmade sweets. You can watch them make the chocolates on site. Everything we had from here was delicious! Bring a friend when you buy any one thing because the portions are pretty darn large. It is expensive but what do you expect for handmade chocolates.

Don't know why so many great reviews. Paid 16$ for 1 scoop of icecream and 1 piece of fudge? And both were bad.

I have a sweet tooth. All sweets and chocolate. If you even remotely have a sweet tooth you have to stop in here. My personal favourites include the vanilla coconut clusters, milk chocolate salted caramel bars and the bear claws... but it’s all good. The fudge is always fresh and delicious. The only thing I’ve never gone for is the ice cream at the back but that’s only because all the other stuff is so good.

Had the Skor Carmel Apple it was so good. The Granny Smith apple was sour and sweet and very crisp and fresh. The Carmel melts in your mouth and the crunch of the Skor is amazing, would definitely recommend

The fudgery is a great stop whenever you're in the pile place market in Seattle. They have a ton of sweet stuff as you can probably imagine, and fudge in every flavour! You can also see how they make the fudge in house as they make it fresh every day, as well as simple any of the flavours that you want! Perfect for a sweet munch or to take home as a souvenir

You can't walk by without being drawn in by the sweet smells from this place. Best dipped apples anywhere.

A must visit if you are in Banff. So many delicious choices. Some of the fudge can be a little too sweet, but I usually opt for something involving pretzels, or a candy apple.

Downtown chocolate shop with wide selection of items and multiple flavors of most. Interesting combinations of flavors, handheld treats on a stick, and such. Great place.
Food For Thought
My experience with the staff has been mostly pleasant. I have come across a few that couldn't give a crap- that always slightly taints the experience. As does referring to knock off "smarties" as M&M's. Can you tell I prefer M&M's!? That being said the product more than makes up for any downfalls!! The Caramel Nut Apple Covered in Chocolate keeps me coming back *Drooling* Last one I had was the best one yet, so good! We also tried the buttercrunch (I think that's what it was called) Divine!! We wanted to try the honeycomb candy but it was only available in $10 bags- no thanks!

The best marzipan I have ever had!! So amazing.. So rich... So worth every penny. I think I spent a fortune at this place already, but if you're in Banff you must stop in!!

When visiting banff, i always visit this store. I ordered the Le tigertail licorice ice cream and it is my favorite. Good serving and service too.

Sometimes have Samples! Try it out, it's rather delicious~!. The Fudgery is similar to a lot of the sweet candy and fudge shops around Banff, but it’s the fudgery that we personally like! It’s located in Sundance Mall and the bakers can be seen working the fudge from a window looking out to Banff Avenue. We tried the Irish Cream Fudge and Peanut Butter Fudge, and they were absolutely delicious! Fudges are typically around $3.50 per 100 grams, and are usually wrapped in 150-200 gram portions. They sometimes even have samples available for those interested, so it doesn’t hurt to give them a try!

Not worth the prices. I was drawn into the shop because I could smell amaretto wafting through the air. I ended up buying a block of fudge, two coconut treats, and four salted caramel chocolates. It came to a whopping $34 and they didn't even wrap anything nicely, everything was thrown into a plastic bag and the chocolates on the bottom got squashed. For the price you'd think they would at least wrap things so they don't get damaged. The chocolates were nice but you can get better for cheaper at any other chocolate shop. I won't try this place again.

So Disappointed. I was extremely unhappy with our trip to the Fudgery this weekend. All of the fudge is now pre-wrapped in Saran, instead of cut for you from a fresh block. The fudge itself was quite dried out and disappointing.

Now this is the biggest catch; BEWARE of the prices! For the little block you see in the photo's you'll pay about $9!!! They have a misleading sign that says $3.49/ 100g - however, you're only given the option of the pre-wrapped block, the weight of which you are not told. When the tourist in front of us was told the price you could see the shock on her face (as on ours!). However, they obviously are able to catch tourists and visitors from the city who are not aware of their prices.

A ripoff, not great fudge, and an overall disappointment.
Go to the fudge shop in Canmore where they charge half the price, cut it from a fresh block for you and make sure to remove any dry parts.

The Best Ever!. I cannot explain how much I LOVE the Rundle Mountain candy. It's a mound shaped like the Rundle mountain and inside is the most delicious, melt in your mouth sweetness!!!!!!!! I'd like to order some online to be shipped straight to me, but I'd spend all my money and gain 50 lbs. :(
Get a small chunk and you'll not regret it.

Fudgery - Banff. When ever we come to Banff a must stop is the Fudgery, there are a few candy shops to choose from but this is a favorite.

Homemade fudge, candy and chocolates, every time I'm in Banff we have to make a trip to The Fudgery to get a treat, it's the best for Chocoholics! If you have an opportunity get some Fudgery.
Eat And Be Merry Crew
With the glorious late summer sun, the Lawyer did the touristy thing and decided to amble up and down Banff following our dinner at Tooloulou's . There's a couple of confectionery shops in Banff - and one of them is The Fudgery. It's a narrow shop that has it's diabetes-inducing wares displayed by the window... taunting, tempting and teasing you to come in and be like Charlie Bucket. If the visual display doesn't get you, then the oh-so-aromatic perfume of roasted pecans and caramel will definitely draw you in. Inside, you'll find a range of fudge on sale (sold by per 100 grams), bear claws, toffee and candy covered apples and a range of biscuits decorated with a lot of chocolate, sugar and nuts. We chose the pecan butter fudge. A soft but chewy nougat slab, smothered in smooth fudge and absolutely covered with roasted pecans. It's tooth-achingly sweet and sinful but we couldn't stop eating it. It would have been better had we had a cup of tea to temper the sweetness. And, dang it, we're on holidays, and everyone knows that holiday calories don't count. Verdict Food – 7 Service – 6.5 Ambience – 7 Price – 6.5 Overall You're inner child will love this place but your dentist may not.
