This place is a typical British pub decked out with the usual ugly carpet and entirely too much wood paneling so the experience is very authentic :)) The food is sooo friggin delicious, the service is fast and friendly and they have live music on most nights (sometimes indoors and sometimes on the outdoor patio). The music can be pretty loud and not conducive to chatting and it can be a bit chilly inside so bring a light sweater or pashmina. Pie of the day was steak and kidney and hubby cleaned his plate and I had the roast beef in the Yorkie pudding that was to die for. Great portions too! Hubby is British and he can never get enough of this place so we'll be back soon!

When it comes to atmosphere, the Coach and Lantern has plenty of it. It has a great number of British beers on tap and British pub fare, but really - we go because it has a spooky and long history in Ancaster.
