Review Mumbay Grill - Ajax

Guru
Dinner buffet was not at all worth the price, not only that there are very few options but also the dishes available are quite ordinary in taste, nothing that you would want to remember after you leave from there. Chole was horrible in taste, rest all the dishes were just ordinary. Tried their samosa too, it's far from the taste you would expect from an Indian restaurant. Don't know why the name is Mumbay, the options and taste have no remote connection with Mumbai food whatsoever (i am from Mumbai). It may be only 'good' for those who either aren't from India and don't know what's the real taste like or those who have been living here since long and may have forgotten the taste of Indian food!

I've been coming here for years and the food and service is always great. I've only ever ordered off the menu, not buffet, and there's never been an issue.

We ordered a wide range of dishes, including onion bhaji which had a long, thick black hair baked right into the middle of it. Absolutely disgusting - we threw out all of the food because if there is a hair in there it means the kitchen must be completely unsanitary. Avoid unless you like hair in your food.

This is one of the restaurant offers best value to your money. Lunch buffet is lot more valuable than what I paid. Taste and service is good. Completely satisfied.

Mumbay Grill in Ajax On serves up<br/>some delicious Indian meals that are full of flavour and<br/>reasonably priced. They have a lunch buffet and for<br/>dinner you can go with either the buffet option or order<br/>items of your choosing à la carte style. I stuck with the à<br/>la carte option during this visit. Seen here is their butter<br/>chicken served with zeera infused rice, warm buttered<br/>naan and raita. I hope you try it out and enjoy it as much<br/>as I do.<br/>Happy eating!

This was my first indian restaurant to try in toronto. We chose to go for a buffet.<br/>Starters: Tandoori chicken ,fish fry, samosa, paani puri<br/>Main course : butter chicken, mutton curry, aalo mutter, chhole, palak paneer etc<br/>Desserts: Gulabjamun, icecream ,rice pudding(kheer)<br/>Apart from this they do have good chutneys and salads.<br/>Overall a very good experience.Staff can be more polite.Charged $30 for 2 at lunch time. I could barely walk till the bus stop after my lunch.<br/>Keep it up team.

Good food, good ambiance, good service. We were a group of 9 and everyone had a good time. We ordered from the Menu rather than the buffet, but will be definitely going back to try the buffet.

Foods amazing, delivery sucks.. First off.. The food is amazing but a little pricey. Beyond that though the last three orders were missing major items.which is shocking. How do you continue to fail to get the order right so many times... no more.. we wont order anymore.

Food is good. Atmosphere Sucks. Food is good, the selection is not the greatest. The food is also well priced. I went when they had their $11 buffet and I can definitely say it was well worth the price. Service was good and I would definitely good again.

My boyfriend and I recently tried Bombay Grill for the first time and were quite pleased with it. Having been fans of Mount Everest just down the street for ages we'd never tried this place utility a friend raved about it. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant and we really enjoyed our food. We had the chana masala, butter chicken and the chicken biryani. Their naan bread is MUCH better than Mount Everests, which is rather chewy (and since we both love naan bread, this is a big plus!) we both found the amount of spice and heat to be just right for us and the portions were large: enough to bring home leftovers for lunch the next day. Our server seemed a bit shy and unsure of when to come and go, but he was polite and helpful, so all was well. In terms of cleanliness, Bombay Grill also wins over its next door competitor, as their bathrooms are pretty abysmal. Overall, we were quite pleased with our visit and will be back! Definitely the best Indian food we've had in the Durham area so far!

A pleasant surprise!. We typically dine next door at The Mount Everest when we're in the mood for Indian, however they aren't open on Mondays. Based on the other reviews, we decided to check out Bombay Grill.<br/><br/>We shared the mixed app platter and mains consisted of butter chicken, palak paneer, dal and a lamb madras. The entrees include choice of rice or plain naan, so we got a bit of both. <br/><br/>The service was polite albeit a little slow. The food was very good - decent portions, wonderful aromas and quite flavourful. The chicken was moist and the lamb tender (except for a couple of pieces that were just a little bit tough). I wouldn't call it the best Indian food that we've ever had, but it most definitely met expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Good into to Indian cuisine. It may look like nothing located in a low-key plaza, but the place is very nice and tasteful inside. They serve a small buffet of Indian staples at lunch for $9 - a great value. For those worried about the amount of spice, this is a great into to the Indian cuisine since their food has all the right stuff but just is not overwhelmed by heat. Ice cream is also on the menu. I only wish there were more dessert choices.

Lunch buffet takeaway - delicious. I had a taste for Indian food that day. Several friends had said that I should check out Bombay Grill. When I asked about a "lunch for one" to take to the office, the host offered the buffet for $9.99. I was given a good-sized styrofoam container for entrée dishes, and a small one to put dessert (gulab jamun) in. I passed on the green salad items and focused on what was on the warmers. Rice palao, mehti chicken, curry goat, butter chicken, tandoori vegetables, vegetable pakoras, and one other chicken dish all managed to fit in my container, so I had a sampling of many items to go along with a fresh naan. All were delicious, not quite "medium" for spiciness. For dinner, I finished off what was left over from lunch. The Mt. Everest (which I have enjoyed for dinner), only a few seconds' walk down the sidewalk, also has a lunch buffet, but I do not know if they have takeaways. I'll have to check and compare.

Bad Experience after couple of good ones!. I have been to this place couple of times before, and have always liked it. Went there again today for lunch with 2 friends around 4pm. As we entered, 4 people (waiters, managers, staff) were playing cards on one side of the restaurant. None of them had enough courtesy to greet us and take us to our table, instead one of them said "please sit on the other side of the hall". I found this really odd. I carried on thinking the nice food will make up for this. <br/>I ordered Aloo Gobi, and got a dish with half Aloo Gobi and half Okra (probably left overs from buffet).<br/>During the complete hour, our server did not visit the table again asking how everything else was, or asking if we wanted anything else. <br/>Overall, a very poor experience today!

Great Food. Found this place on a local website - AjaxPickering.ca and I thought I would give it a try as I trust these guys to only provide the best of the best. And the best it is! Loved this place! The lunch buffet is an amazing value for an amazing price and the dinner for two is a fantastic way to introduce people to Indian who have never tried it before. Will eat there again and again.

First time eating here and will definitely eat here again. Food was really good and beyond my expectations. However was a bit more expensive than I had anticipated based on the location and decor.

I had their butter chicken and an extra side of naan as a takeout. It was good, not the best I'd ever had but tasty. The naan was grilled on a dirty pan there was black stuff crusted on it.

Best Indian Food in GTA!. This restaurant has changed owners and names in the past few years, but now in 2010 it is fantastic. We had dinner twice recently and tried new items on the menu instead of the same old butter chicken. The staff is friendly and helpful with ordering. Spice level can be adjusted to your preference (we prefer less spicy). The dishes have a "full flavour" with a depth of spices and flavours. I suggest the Peshwari nan, Raita, and Mango Chutney to accompany the meal. My only complaint is the sometines untidy apperance of the dining room. The staff needs to be more attentive to better cleaning up after dinner as spilled rice on the carpet is very obvious. My complaint aside the pros (including the reasonable prices) far outweigh the problems. I willl definitelyr return and hope the business does well and will be around a long time.

Fantastic!. FOOD: The food here is excellent. It's always fresh, and piping hot when you get it, plus there's a good mix of meat and vegetarian options. The lunch buffet in particular is a winner with me.<br/><br/>PRICE: The lunch buffet is a steal - all you can eat for about $10, including taxes. The dinner menu costs a little bit more, but I don't recall ever seeing anything more than $20. You definitely get your money's worth at this place.<br/><br/>SERVICE: I've come here on multiple occasions, and the service has always been prompt and friendly. The servers check up on you just enough that you never are in need of anything, and so long as there's no reservation for a large group, they will allow you to sit where you please.<br/><br/>OVERALL: Very tidy and clean, and well ventilated (so you can enjoy the food and not smell like it afterward!). A good size for small to medium (approx 8 people) sized groups without making a reservation. You can reserve a large portion of the restaurant for parties. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Worst ever Customer service and worst food quality. I went to BGrill for valentine's day Dinner..They had a Buffet..The food was disgusting...I called beofre I left, and one of their staff told me that their adult buffet is $15 , kids 7 and up are half price ,below 7 are free..Now when I got the bill, they chanrged for my daughter ful price( she is only 9) and charged haf price fo rmy son (he is only 4) when he was suppossed to be free..When I challenged the bill, they instantly changed the whole pricing structure and made up a custom to suite my family , so that they can charge my little kids..The CUSTOMER SERICE SUCKS..Don't ever go to this restaurant,...
