Review What A Bagel - Ajax

Stopped by on the way to Montreal and was not disappointed. We had three bagels and all of them were toasted perfectly, crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. We were a little hesitant to try the rainbow bagel but tasted great. Our favorite sandwich the chicken schnitzel, perfectly fried. Would definitely come back when I am in the area.

What A Bagel! More like what a RIP OFF!! $46 for A dozen and a half bagels and cream cheese? I didn’t realize until I got into my car and looked at my receipt that it came to that much. They weigh your cream cheese and charge you by weight ???that is absolutely ridiculous! Pure robbery. I think it’s safe to say that will be my last visit there. I get a dozen great Canadian bagel’s which are 10 times better than these bagels and bigger with cream cheese and it comes up to $20.

$24 for two soggy bagels. I love cream cheese, but you're better off ordering a tub and eating it with a spoon. The amount of cream cheese on the bagels I recieved was honestly off putting. There's 0% chance for the quality of these bagels to shine through when every bite is filled with endless gobs of cream cheese. Quite frankly there's too much of a good thing. And secondly the PRICE $24 for two bagels with some toppings? No drinks, no sides? I feel super let down that I payed such a premium for such a let down. I love the what a bagel stores in Toronto and used to frequent the one on Spadina. This is not the same. Additionally employees seem like they're rushing when there's maybe 2 people waiting. Slow down, greet customers and make a quality product before you have 0 lines. I never thought I would write such a long winded review about a bagel. But here I am.

I have had their bagels and pastries and it's good. Ingredients are fresh and tastes good as it's all in house. Only downside is that's it's quiet expensive compared to other in house bagel shops in Toronto and other cities like Montreal.

Quick service, wide variety of options, very tasty and modest pricing! Whats not to love?

Fresh baked bagels with delicious cream cheese, yes, Love it. Staff is super efficient and friendly. Drop in, you will like it for sure.

Although seating is still not open, the fare is as usual awesome! Tuna on a toasted cheese bagel is exactly what I needed today, and WAB always provides consistently delicious, fresh food!

I love their hot and fresh bagels and the wide variety of cream cheese. Must try - cookies !

Have been going to What a bagel since December. They are the best bagels in town..And the cream cheese is to die for. The staff and owner are super friendly and very caring . We are so happy you decided to come to Ajax�

Horrible customer service. The staff doesn’t know how to accommodate a request that is not on the menu ie. bacon, egg & cheese...and when there is only 1 person behind the counter be prepared to wait as a lower priority to customers picking up bagels only - even if you were there first....And $2 for a medium sized substandard coffee is absurd. The bagel was good this the 2 star rating

I dropped in on Friday to check the place out, with no much expectations with my friend. Immediately I was blown off to find out that the Borekas has arrived to Ajax... My favourite pastry!!! So I took one of each with Challa bread and cheese cake to die for just like the owner said � and will go back soon for my salmon and cream cheese toast � best place ever!!!

There is no better place .. the best of the best ... from the moment you Walk in .. you are are made feel welcome.. the bagels , sandwiches, sweets .. deliciously amazing.. the staff .. the friendliest �� If there was a 6star i would give it �

I visited today with my 1 year old, and had the most incredible customer service and food! When I arrived for lunch it was busy, I was served by the friendliest, most courteous and helpful employee (gentleman with a baseball hat and a sleeve of tattoos). He whipped up the most delicious salad and a bagel for my son. Then, even though it was really busy, he brought my food to a table and set up a high chair for us and waited there until we paid and came over. Which I couldn’t have appreciated more as my son was on my hip and getting “hangry”. As we were wrapping things up, this lovely woman came and chit chatted, asked how everything was and cleared off our table for us. All staff have smiles on their faces and the food was so fresh and delicious! Great find in Ajax!

My new favourite place to buy bagels! In the past couple weeks we have gone through 3 dozen! Their cream cheeses are worth the $$$ too!�

Was in yesterday afternoon . All I can say is how amazing the owners and staff are . I just have to give them above 5 plus star . Very welcomed and inviting as soon you walk in the door ! Everything is fresh and absolutely delicious .. you must also try their pastries , and their homemade cream cheese , along with bagels . P. S. thank you to the owner for him giving me a fresh coffee while I waited for the rainbow bagels . �

Tried a the optimal egg white bagel the other day from what a bagel, and loved it. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff who helped me was friendly, went above and beyond. Would recommend!

Our first time in the place and we were warmly greeted by the staff and were very accommodating and patient with us.... they have food samples and smoothies are made from fresh fruits. We ordered the salmon sandwich and it was great, we sat down and took our time there and they even gave my baby a coloring sheet and crayons (even though he couldn't work with crayons yet, lol). Went home with a chocolate croissant and dozen bagels (they are on sale buy get 6 free) which are still warm coz they are freshly baked. Definitely will be coming back here.

My kids and I passed by last Sunday after church for some bagels. To my surprise, we were greeted by their friendly, warm and helpful staff. We loved their bagels..Went back on Monday and Tuesday for lunch for their delicious, fresh and yummy sandwiches. I called them in advance for my orders so that I didn't have to wait. They were very accommodating. The chicken schnitzel sandwich was my favourite with the sweet potato fries!!!!!! One of the best places that they opened in Ajax....keep up the good work...#yummyfood #delicious #veryfriendlystaff

I live in Oshawa but on my way home from work one day I needed gas. So I stopped in Ajax and saw What a bagel in the plaza beside the gas station. I decided to stop in after I read reviews on FB a few days prior. Am I ever glad I did! Warm greetings from the staff when you walk in, a lady (who I assume was either a manager or owner) offering samples of challa bread with herb and garlic cream cheese - so soft and fresh and the cream cheese was light and airy. They had a buy 6 bagels get 6 free, I saw the rainbow bagels and got some for the kids. A wide variety of other flavours and based on the sample, took home some herb and garlic cream cheese and some light plain as well. The bagels were so soft I didn't even need to toast them! The cream cheese was light and soft as well. Not disappointed and will be back to get more, which will likely be soon with the way these bagels taste!! 5+ stars!!

Great place! Friendly staff. I have been there several times since they opened and have never been disappointed! So yummy!!!

Had lunch today for the first time and was very impressed. It’s so much more than ‘just bagels’. The staff were inviting, friendly and very polite. Customer service can make or break a restaurant and yours was top notch. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. I was full half way through. I was sad that I didn’t actually order a bagel. Leave it to me to not order an actual bagel at ‘what a bagel’. Lol. But if you’re sandwiches are half as good as your name sake, then I’ll definitely be back. Love the owners and staff. Always caring. Haven't bought from timmys in months now after going to what a bagel. You get that small town local cafe feel here. I have dragged friends here and they have also liked it. Keep doing what you are doing. 👍👌
