Review Zaika - Abbotsford

Worst Experience with online order. Ordered chicken 65 I don’t even know what I received. The chicken is uncooked.Paneer butter masala tastes like just paneer mixed with cream in the tomato sauce. No flavour ,Ordered 4 Nan and we got 3 .Never expected this from Zaika.

The service was good. Ordered appetizers for the table which were just okay. Didnt stand up to the expectations. The food was fine too. Ordered chicken korma, paneer korma, paneer masala, tandoori roti and garlic naan which were again not the best. I mean its okay to try it but not for the second time.

Went for the lunch buffet today. Ended up arriving at 2:15. They let us know the buffet ended at 2:30 so no new food would be coming out. They let us look at the buffet and see if we were still interested with the remaining food. We agreed knowing it had been sitting out for a bit and was a little more barren of the most popular dishes. Our waitress ended up bringing us a fresh and hot buttered chicken and a new bowl of rice anyway to make sure we got their most popular item. The staff was extremely friendly and played and interacted with our 3 year old. Food was delicious.

When we finally received service, it was good but their customer service skills definitely need work. We had been waiting to seat for over 20 minutes this past weekend. There were employees stared at us and even walked by. I believe it was their bartender? who was running in and out of the restaurant who asked us if we had been helped and told one of the other girls in the corner to come help us. We shared appys and noodles. 10/10 food.

The appetizers and main course was given at the same time. I mean don’t know if restaurants should understand that even tough it was ordered at the same time it wasn’t expected that. So the food until was all dried by the time. Took 45 mins to serve appetizers and main course. Food was fine but slow service due to short staff. Won’t visit again.

Worst service ever. Please don't visit this restaurant. Customer service is really bad. I have visited with the restaurant first time and had to wait for 45min for my food. Very lazy staff. They will keep on saying wait 5 min. So me and my family left the restaurant without having the food as the food was not ready even after 45min. So we went to another restaurant And they didn't even apologized which shows they don't care about their customers.

Always—Good Food, nice staff, good quantity per serving. Today the girl who served us was smiling, respectful and quick. Her name is Bhumika and we really appreciate her kind gestures👏

I have eaten in many indian restaurants, and this is one of the best I have tried. The service was very friendly and efficient. Food arrived piping hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of house specialties . We tried couples of these, and it was delicious. The restaurant was clean and family oriented. We will be going back! Their quality and quantity are both very good at price. Best buffet in Abbotsford! Rajesh Thapar

OK..now where should we start on this one. I had been to this place before and I have usually had an average kind of experience, food as well as service wise. But during my last visit, this place disappointed me beyond comprehension. They promote their buffet a lot and my wife and I thought we will check it out. We had a look at the buffet spread and did not find it appealing. It looked like an assortment of leftover food. So, we decided to order something from the menu. The wait staff was not too amused at our decision. Maybe they have been directed to promote the buffet so as to open up the freezer space. We waited for about five minutes and when no-one paid any attention, I went to a waitress and asked if I can have a menu. We were really hungry so ordered the Indian version of fast food--the chhole bhature assuming that one can't really go wrong with this dish. But guess what? they managed to ruin chhole bhature too. First we had to wait for 30 minutes for our food to arrive because the kitchen was not ready for cooking. Yes, that is what the waitress told me that they ignited the stove after we ordered. And the whole process takes about 30 minutes. She never warned us about it. Of course she never bothered to apologize for the delay. Rather she got so miffed at our dismay that she refused to come and refill our glasses with water. And when the food finally arrived, it was the most bland food I had ever tasted. I have had mashed potatoes that had more flavour than their chhole (curried chickpeas) and the bhaturas was no where near the crispiness one expects. The waitress meanwhile continued to make us feel unwelcome. I kid you not, after those chhole bhature, McD sounded yummy. And don't even get me started on their so called Indian style chinese food. Maybe the chef thinks "Indian style" means dousing everything in Soy sauce. Maybe we should have stuck to the stale buffet dishes. I am never going there again.

One of the best Indian meals i have eaten. They catered very well for my vegan girlfriend and also make a delicious vindaloo. I'd come back here for sure and I'm in whistler

We went there with all our family had a great time with good food and great service we will highly recommend this best restaurant in Abbotsford

This is just a typical overpriced restaurant. I'm sorry but the Indian food here isn't anything spectacular. It is just mediocre. I will consider it to be the best out of the worst in Abbotsford. Service isn't any better either due to the rude staff and having to wait for the waiter even if there are a small amount of customers. The ambiance is okay, better than most Indian restaurants in Abby so I will give them credit for that. They claim to make the best butter chicken. I wish that was the case. I am East Indian so I am sorry to say that it is actually one of the worst I have ever tasted. I have eaten far better in places in Surrey and Vancouver for more reasonable prices and excellent service. I had small dinner parties in the previous year . For one of the parties, I had food from this restaurant. My guests did not like the food, especially the butterchicken, that came from this restaurant. Since I live in abby, I hope the taste of their food and service improves. Otherwise I will have to start making my own butterchicken again.

Delicious Indian food! The service is usually good. They have many delicious dishes. I recommend the tandoori options and their okra dish. I haven't tried it, but I've heard that they have a great lunch buffet.

Only reason Im giving A 1.0 is Because there is not an option for 0. Absolutely lost all hope for this place. Dirty. So about A month ago beging a regular customer, I ordered my usal butter chicken, 2 rice matter Paneer, nan. And In side the rice were little black bugs... at first I thought you know what sh*t happens its rice after all, so just last night I ordered my usual agian, And opened opened up the rice and there agian more black little bugs. So now Im really Disappointed in them. If your in to that then this is the place for you.

Excellent Indian food; the best in Abbotsford - and in Abbotsford, that's saying a lot. Recommended dishes include the dal dhaba and the vindaloo; the vindaloo in particular differs from the vindaloo of any other curry house I have ever been to: instead of being a bland brown, it is a deep, vivid red. The dishes are seldom watery, so they are well worth being slightly expensive.

Had the lunch all you can eat option with my only trip to abbotsford, came here early for lunch, the all you can option is quite decent, and the taste is slightly above average, like most of the indian all you can eat option, there are the items of butter chicken, lentils, beef, all of them taste quite good, but at the same time the spices are on the stronger side too. With that being said, the taste of the food is good.

overall i would recommend this place if you're around the area, the all you can buffett i think it's worth it.

Very good. Food was flavourful and well prepared. Service was very good, and the staff did their best to accommodate our needs.
Good value for the price.
Will come back again.

Love this place. We've been to Zaika's many times and the food is always great. Staff is super friendly and you can't beat the butter chicken.

The hidden little gem in Abbotsford. The service is impeccable. Nothing is too much for them. We had our food within 10 minutes. All fresh. We ate vegetable pakoras and poppadoms with onion and sweet chutney. We finished and they asked if we would like our main course immediately or to wait a few minutes. We asked for immediately and it was brought. I asked for a mild curry and indeed it was mild. My husband asked for medium to hot and it was. The taste was full of flavour and you could taste all the ingredients just as the waitress had described.
A wonderful experience. We will be back again and again.
Full marks Zaika.

The food her is amazing !! The butter chicken was the best I've ever had. It was so flavourful and the pieces of chicken inside were huge ! We ordered it for delivery and they showed up very fast ! We ordered a dinner combo for 2 people.. Which was so cheap and it was able to feed 4 of us !! Haha and I still had leftovers the next day. We also got some sort of veggie curry, I don't know but it was amazing. Definitely impressed and going back !!

This place is fantastic! W.... This place is fantastic!
We try to time our drive from the Okanagan to the Coast so we can make a lunch or dinner stop here.
We had ordered from the menu before but this time we got to enjoy the buffet. Honestly the best East Indian buffet we have ever tasted (and we get around considering curry is our favourite food). Great selection, very fresh food and the sauces are to die for! The butter chicken is full of complex flavours and spices, slightly unusual but creamy and comforting in every way!!
Maybe we need to time our drive back to get another hit?

Can't beat this little place!. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years (as an owner, and most recently in restaurant POS software), and haven't come across many Indian restaurants which combine all the elements of great food, great service, and GREAT atmosphere like Zaika. They serve fantastic meals in a very relaxed, well-appointed dining room.

Zaika has great meals, and the presence of their owner-operators is a big part of it. Dishes are meticulously prepared, and you can taste the difference.

I've had several chicken dishes, their lamb curry, and some great vegetarian dishes, and they are all good. The tandoor cranks out some amazing naans.

Don't forget dessert - well worth the wait!

I go back to Zaika whenever I crave authentic Indian food in Abby!

Very good!. I'm not a huge fan of Indian food, but thought I'd give Zaika a try, since it's very close to my home. I very much enjoyed the lunch buffet. The butter chicken was amazing! The fresh, hot naan brought to the table whenever you need a refill, was great, and we got to try different kinds, too. The service was impeccable!

The price was just a little high for lunch. I was expecting $9.99, from the sign I'd driven past many times, but now the price is blocked out. It was an even $24 for 2 lunches. I left a sizable tip, though, because the service was so good. I won't return often, but I will return, if for nothing other than the butter chicken.

Thumbs way up!. Tonight went with some family and had the chef prepare us a custom dinner for 4 with appetizers. Was outstanding! Friendly and efficient staff. I also appreciate the fact that you can order combo dinners and am itching to try the lunch buffet. A must try.

Nice inside. Ordered butterchicken rice naan, comparable pricing. Yummy sauce but the chicken was off, grayish peices, won't be back.

Great place for Indian Cusine. The "all you can eat" is excellent! Service is very attentive :) If your in the Abbotsford area try this place!

My absolute fav Indian restaurant in Abbotsford! Highly recommended for the amazing service, delicious food & reasonable prices. My whole family loves this place. The stuff I've tried-appy platter is great & variety of foods, kadahi chicken is a must try so yum, shahi paneer is great, and their vegetarian manchurian is also good. However, their garlic naans blow everything else out of the water! So light, perfectly toasted & just amazing. The staff is great & will make am effort to get to know you. Thanks Zaika!

This place seriously rocks! Great service, great butter chicken, and really nice and clean decor. 10$ for a lunch buffet is more than fair, and is a delightful experience!

Very good! Best samosas I have evr had. Love the butter chicken too. My two young boys also really like it. Staff is always super nice. My boys are always asking to go; their favorite place to eat.

I love Zaika! But have only ever tried their butter chicken and naan bread. I pick up every week- or every other week I'm obsessed, they are so nice to me, my meal is always hot and fresh, and yes it costs a little more but I find that I get quite a bit of butter chicken. And the naan bread is always so fresh :) I highly recommend this place!

Price is high. Food is awesome, restaurant has a nice ambiance! There service is really good as well. I always do take out, so can't really tell how the delivery service is. The only thing I don't like is that, the price is high and the quantity is less. It is not worth paying so much for so less. I am seriously thinking of trying out another Indian restaurant. Which is good and won't cost me as much.

We went for the lunch buffet...the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was nice and the people were very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan to introduce more people to it! Thank you Zaika!!

Ordered Delivery. I have never been inside Zaika, so I can't comment on that. I orders butter chicken, garlic naan bread and rice. By the time the order came, it was luke warm. The butter chicken was okay, nothing special. The delivery took almost an hour. Maybe the service in the restaurant is better, but the delivery ruined my experience. I also had to pay a fee of 1.99 on the debit, and tip on top of that.
