Review The Highwayman Pub - Abbotsford

Tried for the first time. The ambience was good but the service was not. I kinda felt it was rude and not at all welcoming(went straight to the point). Ordered Tequilla Shots and Red wine(local) for the table with Crab Poppers to start with which were good. Also ordered Mozza Sticks but they were just too salty(not worth it). Later ordered Chicken Burgers(2), one with Yam Fries and one with Regular(on side) with Moscow Mule(not good,had better). The total came to be $70, too pricey! So frankly not a fan and won't go again.

Our waitress was Sheryl. She was the only waitress working and I felt bad for her. Pretty busy place for only one waitress. She worked hard and was serving everyone in the entire pub, which is pretty big. But, She was impressive. She brought our food quickly and our drinks and she did it with a smile and great attitude regardless of how over worked she was. Gave her a big tip. They better give her a raise or they will lose her. Aside from that, great atmosphere, friendly people, awesome pub food at great prices. Love this place.

Went for the first time a while ago. Had an issue with the bill being incorrect but was quickly corrected by the server so it wasn't a big deal. Decided to come back for a 2nd visit, and this time was a different server. Again, the bill was wrong but this time no offer to correct it or do anything about it. So not only did we overpay but the server also didn't apply my Otter COOP team member discount even after I presented the card to her. However after being distracted by the incorrect bill, I didn't notice this until after I left and got home to review the receipt. So essentially got overcharged twice on this visit. Two visits in a row of overcharging makes me think it's the norm and not the exception. Therefore will not return. Beware if you visit! Food good, but not worth overpaying for.

The food was delicious, and the people were awesome! But the drinks were low and the service was terrible.

I ordered the steak and prawns for 19.99$. When I got I was shocked. I only received 5 little mini prawns that were so small it covered half the stack. Not even. The steak tasted nasty and the potatoe was like rubber. My friend had the chicken clubhouse and he said the same thing. You couldnt chew the sandwich because bites were made to big and weren't cut properly. He ended up leaving half the sandwich because it as well didn't taste very good. I will not be eating here again and the price is way over the top for what it is. That's to bad.

Food was not good. Steak sandwich was so seasoned with steak spice is was disgustingly salty. Server also went outside for a smoke with the table on the patio before taking our food or drink orders.

Pls move karaokee night to a week day, not a weekend. I want to play pool & drink beer & eat food. Not a enjoyable evening night out to hear the worst singing in the city & ppl destroy songs. I'd go to your establishment more if the weekends didn't have karaokee. I want a place to go on my evenings off without my toddler, I don't want to hear music that sounds like a child is singing butchering good music. I'm trying to get away from that. 😮‍💨 **until then, I'll spend my money at a different establishment.

Deep fried pickles and chipotle mayo were fresh and delicious. Service was fantastic, the lady with beautiful dreadlocks was wonderful!! Absolutely a must try.

A great place, with good food and a good atmosphere.  Me and a buddy of mine went here to catch up on old times.  I had a burger, and he had some shrimp.  The burger was amongst the best I've ever had, and affordable, too.  The alcohol was (as is usual in Canada) expensive, but at least there is no smoking like there used to be when I was there last, which was before the ban.  The air conditioning only just kept me from breaking out into a sweat.

This place sucks, but as far as the food goes it's pretty good and cheap as hell. You also get big portions. I would eat here again for sure, but I won't stick around after.
