Review Kojan Sushi Restaurant - Abbotsford

Jeevan Dhillon
Seated quickly, and the waitress was very polite! Food was brought very quickly, and it looked very well made, very delicious. Price is a bit high, but the fresh quality of the fish and vegetables makes up for it. Sakura decorations with quiet K-pop playing made for a very nice atmosphere! If you're looking for a sushi place to try, go here.

Cute and delicious! Came for the Korean food, the inside is precious with the blossoms on the ceiling and k-pop playing on the televisions. Stopped in for lunch, husband and I ordered Nanban, Ebi Mayo, Bibimbap, Tteokbokki, Japchae and a specialty house roll. Added kimchi ofc! Everything was amazing! (Kimchi had quite the fruity flavor.) Great portions, amazing service, we will 100% come back when we can. I loved that the bathroom had plants in it too. Thank you it was really good!

I pay around 30 boxes for this pork belly boxes and was super disappointed when i eat it....the pork was so dry (maybe over cook) and so salty, cant eat by itself, i end up need to drink a lot water while i am eating it....same as Kimichi......the only star i give is for the food portion and looking....for me if the food not really taste good, no matter how "good looking" of food or how much food they give to me, i dont buy same thing again since i am looking for "quality" food not "quantity" of food, otherwise i can pay simliar price to eat buffet at Modori or Madarine Garden.... PS: to owner, dont be too cheap to your customr, for 30boxes food , i just ask for one extra spicy suace and you still want to charge me extra? Never have this kind of customer service.... Will not order this item again but may back for their Bento boxes since Bento is ok

The food is very tasty, the restaurant is clean and nicely stylized with faux Cherry blossoms in full bloom all year around. The service is friendly and decent. Prices, however, are steep compared to other local sushi restaurants. They also serve Korean cuisine plus some dishes are a Korean Japanese fusion. An enjoyable experience but pricey if you're on a budget.

Always great food from kojan! We moved from ontario and it was recomended by a coworker and wow! Always our go to now! Crazy girl rolls, california rolls and their ramen bowls are HUGE! Pic of the crazy girl rolls ๐Ÿคค

This is my friends favourite sushi place and I can see why. You get a lot of food for your money especially if you get the lunch bento boxes. They have a lot of specialty rolls as well but they are a bit pricier. The decor in this restaurant really stands out and makes it unique - artificial cherry blossom trees and very comfortable booths to sit in. Highly recommend checking this out

Iโ€™ve always had a good experience with Kojan. They make the best spicy tofu Iโ€™ve had. But tonight I ordered veggie gyoza, only to pop one into my mouth and realize it was pork. Iโ€™ve been a vegan for years, so Iโ€™m not sure how itโ€™s going to react with my system. But Iโ€™m pretty shocked to say the least.

Every time my family orders food weโ€™re impressed. The portion sizes are huge. ALL of the food weโ€™ve tried is delicious. Staff are kind and itโ€™s never a long wait

I tried the Taiyaki with cream cheese and Nutella fillings and they were both amazing. I took one home and it was even yummy for breakfast the next day. The chocolate Bingsu is rich and indulgent and I canโ€™t wait to return to try the cheesecake ones! Highly recommend.

First time having Bingsu and we have gone back multiple times since. The customer service from the young people working up front is impressive for teenagers. Always very polite. We love our bingsu and gelato.

Issues seem to be fixed with the schedule so bumping my review up to 5 stars. Really good food the first time I went in but the second time they were closed a half hour earlier than their posted close time.

Amazing! Please put EXO on your playlist though because my friend and I didn't hear them when we visited.

I got the mango bingsu and the mango was so fresh! There was plenty on it, too. I really do wish though that it opened for lunch time, especially with the warmer seasons approaching.

DO NOT ORDER SASHIMI / NIGIRI SUSHI TAKE-OUT!
If you enjoy your sashimi or nigiri sushi as hot as possible, look no further. NO MATTER WHAT, they ALWAYS put a HOT item on top of the COLD ITEMS!! Seriously...?? USE YOUR BRAIN!! This is the last time, YOU ARE A SUSHI RESTAURANT! YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER! I'm sick of getting home, 5 minutes away, after taking things apart in the car to separate the items, only to have ruined, gooey sashimi that WAS NOT CHEAP. This is my last time. I'm done, never again will I choke down warm sashimi...just the thought makes me think of KoJan, and I want to gag.

Worst sushi we have ever had. Sushi rice wasnt even cooked. Its too bad, it used to be so good before they changed owners and menu. We will never go back.

Been there 3 times so far, all for take out. Their portions are very inconsistent but the price stays the same. The last 2 times my order came with Miso soup, this time it did not. I asked about it and was told that I had to order it separately. Each time I go I receive less and less wasabi and this time was not enough enough for 1 piece.ย Some of my california roll was falling apart and didn't taste nearly as good as the last 2 times I went. I understand they were very busy tonight but still.... why so inconsistent???ย Not going again.

Always a great dining experience at Kojan! The service is fast and the food is fresh and fantastic! The price is reasonable. We've never been disappointed by Kojan and always try new things o the menu.

I strongly recommend you never go there. People working there are effing and suck. Actually I ate there. It's not real. Just mimics. Garbage taste any Asian people don't like. In addition, the atmosphere of restaurant is gloomy. No appetite.

Zero effort has been made to redecorate -- this place was obviously an Italian restaurant at some point. ย The tempura was good, but the rest of the food (a few rolls, chicken katsu, veggie sunomono, miso soup) was subpar. ย It feels like they are trying to give you large portions of mediocre ย food. ย The service was friendly and efficient, but in the end, the food is what matters most.

Suddenly I wanted to eat korean food, but didnt know where. I saw this restaurant.. Good place, clean & so nice. Then, i gave it a try. I decided to order Korean food of course, then i ordered Spicy Pork Dolsotbab. It's nice, it served with a hot bowl to keep the food hot, but I think that was too hot, took me so long to finish the food, and some of the rice burnt.
I also ordered Spicy Salmon Sashimi (a-must-menu). It's fresh, but not too spicy, more sweet taste. They have good korean food, nice salmon sashimi, and I think that they have a great sushi too! Still recommended tho..

They have delicious sushi and wonderful Korean food. This is one of the few places in Abbotsford where you can currently find authentic Korean food. I recommend their black bean dish. They are a tad on the expensive side

My family and I are really picky on our sushi and have tried almost all the places in Abbotsford, never really being happy until Kojan came along. Their sushi is to die for as well as their Korean food. I highly recommend Kojan to anyone looking for a yummy meal. Now I go there at least once a week, always happy with the food!

I went to KoJan Japanese Restaurant for lunch, I ordered their $11 seafood noodle soup and they actually served me INSTANT noodles from the package. Even the soup base was used from the package. How would I know? It's because I have the same instant noodle at home.

I told my concern to the owner of the restaurant about how I was very surprised to be served instant noodles in a restaurant. That didn't go very well as she was very defensive and argumentative. ย She told me ramen is instant noodle. ย I told her I am expecting to something more fresh than instant noodle, she say they don't serve fresh ramen noodle.

This is the best sushi place I have been to. The food was absolutely delicious, portions where huge and decently priced. It was an amazing flavourful dining experience. It would be really hard to top this place. So happy we found it!

Came in here on a whim and I can say we were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and they all greet you as soon as you come in.We got the sushi boxes, and the portions were huge for a great price. We left feeling full and satisfied, KoJan is probably some of the best sushi in Abbotsford. We will definitely be returning.

Good Food Poor Service. I Ordered Take Out Yesterday I Ordered A Box C And They Forgot The Sashimi And The Tempura Dipping Sauce

Well Aged Tuna. I don't know if they were just having a bad day but I was served some tuna that was well past it's prime. I didn't stick around to try anything else on my plate. Maybe just a one time slip but the fish was warm, mushy and a little ripe so I wouldn't go back.

Good value. We were there last night, myself for thirst time and my wife's second. Service was very friendly and especially good when we asked what the cooks enjoy making. That's kinda how we like to eat out, I find the food quality is better when the cooks enjoy what they're making, just like at home right? We ordered about 8 dishes from across the menu with the Korean BBQ and udon standing out. Sashimi was excellent as well. Portions were good with lots coming home. Will definitely return.

Favorite sushi place in town. I have been going here since it opened and i always get friendly and fast service and the sushi is by far the best in town. I highly recommend this place, it averages 10-15$ a plate but the portions are great.

Great food, complex flavours, generous portions and friendly service equals great value.. Absolutely my favourite Japanese Sushi restaurant in Abbotsford. The food portions are generous, the variety of food is engaging and the ingredients are very fresh. KoJan is a Japanese and Korean fusion of foods restaurant. Their combination boxes are very generous and offer a variety of flavours and textures which I enjoy. I am very fond of their Sunomono salad which is neither to sweet or too vinegary; it's the best I have had anywhere. The lunch box of competitors usually offer a teriyaki beef but KoJan has improved on this staple by offering a mildly spicy and complex Korean beef portion on grilled vegetables. You should try this if you like the beef teriyaki. I recommend it.

The serving staff are very sincere and very friendly. They provide an Amuse-bouche which was a breaded scallop with an assortment of drizzled glazes on top last time I was in. It was free and a nice touch to a well rounded meal. There is enough food in a $12.00 to $16.00 dinner box to satisfy the hungriest person in your group. I bought the $16.00 bulgogi dinner box and left content. It came with green tea, water, sunomono salad, miso soup, a California roll, mixed tempura, iceberg Korean said, two mini spring rolls, seemed carrot and steamed broccoli.

They have a large menu with a variety of offerings from Korean dishes to the Japanese. The combinations are new and refreshing only enhancing the experience. I think it is worth a try if you are looking for great and good value.

Best Japanese food in Abby.. Hands down. Great friendly service as well, I havent ever been disappointed!

A little expensive for Japanese but worth every penny. We ate thrice here on Christmas week; twice for lunch and once for dinner. The food was excellent, the tea service was a little slow. We had a vegan, a lacto-ovo vegetarian, three carnivores and all ate well. The menu is Korean and Japanese which, given it's name shouldn't have been a surprise but it was. I think this is the only Korean restaurant in Abbotsford. The sushi was fresh and fast. The tempura had a delightfully light batter and was not over-saturated with oil when served as is so often the case at other Japanese restaurants. The Korean dishes were a delight. Two of us were experienced with Korean food and loved the large portions, flavours and value. But you have to ask your server about spicing and content; we were about to order what appeared to be a soft-tofu vegetarian soup that would have been served with an egg and pork in it had we not asked about it. For all the dishes listed in the menu there was no section or designation of dishes that were specifically vegetarian. Today we went for lunch (4th time) and they made a vegetarian noodle dish for us that wasn't on the menu; it was excellent. We will be going back...

Nice to have Korean food in Abbotsford. My daughter loves Korean food, and this is the first place in town that has had good Korean. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner we had there, and the staff is wonderful.
We tried the Korean Dinner Box with bulgogi, which comes with tons of food, plus the chicken karage, mango ice cream and coconut shrimp skewer. Everything was very good!
Carlynesbitt1988
Delicious vegetarian!. By far the best vegetarian sushi I have had in Abbotsford so far. Everything had so much flavor, no over use of mayo in the rolls. Plus, the service was great both times I've been so far :)

Good Korean food and friendly service!

Surprising Gem. We stopped in here on a Saturday, I saw the sign and I thought I'd give it a try.

Once we were seated, our waitress came over. She was super sweet and she recommended some great choices for us--and it was delish! I got some sushi along with the Bul Go gi burger (fantastic), and tempura.

Didn't have room for dessert but it was a good thing!

It's a new restaurant and I'm glad I discovered it. I will definitely be a regular at this restaurant.
